As Jungkook woke up the following morning, he felt goosebumps cover up his skin. His covers were down by his feet, almost falling off his bed, and the wind was blowing inside from his open window. Suddenly, he felt a sneeze come up, and so he managed to release it.
"I forgot to close it," he mumbled to himself, already thinking he possibly could've gotten the cold, something he hated having.
He jumped on his feet, not even bothering to make the bed, and grabbed his towel and went to the bathroom to shower. As he returned to his room afterwards with his towel around his waist only, and his hair dripping wet, he made his way to find some new boxers and socks, and then proceeded to put on his school uniform.
After he dried his hair with the towel so it wouldn't be dripping anymore, he hung it up by the door and went downstairs to eat breakfast and pack some lunch.
"Have a good day sweetie," his mother called when he was putting on his shoes on his way out.
"Thanks mom," he replied with a faint smile. He glanced at his father, but his eyes were only focusing on the television screen.
Jungkook wasn't going to lie - it made him sad how distant he had become with him. Before he came out to his parents, they all used to be so close, especially since he was an only child. His parents were everything to him, and he was everything to him.
His father used to take him fishing, or go to the mountains, or even travelling, just the two of them, or sometimes his mom joining although they liked having the father and son trips. They were so close, but when he admitted being gay, he was so distant, as if he was disappointed in him. As if he had lost hope, and even faith, in him.
It made him sad how much a sexual orientation affected their family relationships.
"Oh," escaped from his lips when he spotted a familiar figure walking just a few feet in front of him. "Taehyung hyung!" he called, making the person to stop and turn around.
"Jungkook," he smiled and waved back, waiting for him to catch up, "we meet again at the same time."
Jungkook nodded. "We seem to get to school at the same time," he casually said, although the other tensed up a bit. "What's wrong?" he asked.
"Oh, nothing," he smiled, "I like meeting up with you before school."
Jungkook couldn't help but to blush. "Yeah," he said awkwardly. Actually, he liked seeing the elder too. He didn't want to admit that though. They had only just met, how could he let the transfer see how different he was from the person he was at school? He was supposed to be a chic and cold person, which he had turned into after growing distant with family and friends, but only since the transfer came, he had been forced to talk a lot more than he used to, and it was already surprisingly changing him. "Your hair's still wet from your shower," the elder commented.
Jungkook touched it, and he was right, although it wasn't dripping. "How did you know it was a shower? Could've been a bath," he smirked.
Taehyung's cheeks flushed red. "Just a guess," he muttered, not meeting the others eyes.
"Don't imagine things now," he teased as he nudged him on his side, "I'm just joking hyung."
Jungkook caught himself as he spoke. He had started calling the transfer 'hyung'. Since when did he feel close enough to him to call him hyung? Because they literally spent their entire day of yesterday together? Or because Taehyung was making him feel more comfortable than no one had ever done?
Their first class was P.E. Taehyung had to be honest, he wasn't looking forward to it. Not because he was terrible at sports or other physical activities - actually, it was the opposite. Since he's not human, his skills went so above them it would be too suspicious, and he had to concentrate hard to not be too good for the other students' levels.
The P.E teacher announced they'd play volleyball, then followed by football, and if they had more time left, basketball.
Taehyung was put in the same team as Jungkook during volleyball, and they cooperated quite well. When it was time for football, they were on opposite teams.
Jungkook had the ball as he tried to go scoring for Taehyung's team, but as the angel was quite competitive, he tried his best (as a human) to steal the ball away from him, but he was so good even Taehyung struggled without awakening his angels powers to beat him.
"Go Taehyung!" his teammates cheered, whilst the other team yelled, "go Jungkook!"
None of them noticed at first, but literally all their teammates had backed away since the play between the angel and his human was so intense and fascinating to witness, they were just spaced out. They cheered their team on, and when Taehyung finally managed to stop Jungkook and ran away the ball, everyone applauded, whilst Jungkook ran after him to prevent him into scoring. Right before he kicked it, it was stolen from him from behind, and Jungkook was too fast as he ran over the field and scored their last winning point. His teammates cheered as they ran up to him, giving him a group hug whilst yelling his name. He seemed so taken aback from the positive attention, but he smiled when he noticed Taehyung was standing further away, smiling softly in his direction proudly.
"You're good at football," Taehyung complimented when they hit the showers as both of them were soaking in sweat. They were the only ones who took so long, and not many of the other students bothered to shower as they basically didn't do much for the sports.
"You're not so bad yourself," Jungkook said back to the other as he filled his hair with shampoo. Unnoticeably, he glanced in the other's direction, realising they were both completely naked. The only thing that was blurring his vision was the fog. He admitted he felt a bit frustrated, and so he tried to deny the urge of stealing more glances of the other in the open shower.
Taehyung didn't notice these things as he knew well how the naked human body as functioning, and so he wasn't bothered, but he did feel a burning gaze onto his neck, and so he turned around and met eyes with the younger. "Jungkook?" he asked as the other didn't seem to react much, "you okay?"
"I - I'm fine," he stuttered as he turned around, turning around as he hid the fact he was blushing.
Taehyung grabbed onto his shoulders and made him turn around, causing the other to stumble as it was wet and slippery on the floor. "Are you warm? Your face is so red. You may have a fever," he commented concerned as he placed his hands on his cheek and forehead, only to be snapped away with Jungkook's hands.
"I said I'm fine!" he yelled at him, turning away once again.
"What's wrong?" Taehyung tried again, "if you're sick, you should say so. Humans have low tolerance of pain and illness."
Jungkook glanced at him with a frown, "I'm neither in pain nor have an illness, so can you stop it now? I'm just tired after playing too much." Taehyung nodded, not wanting to upset the human any further.
Jungkook finished up as soon as possible and went out to dry himself. He barely had finished dressing up before Taehyung had turned off his shower and appeared in the wardrobe with his towel around his waist. Jungkook had to turn away immediately if he didn't want to be caught staring at the sparkling male he saw in front of him.
"Oh, do I still smell?" Taehyung asked as he saw the reaction of the other when he turned around quickly, as he smelled himself to check if he was right.
"No," Jungkook replied, still not facing the other as he bottomed up his uniform shirt, and then putting on his jacket. Luckily, Taehyung didn't say anything else as he also got dressed, and they both quietly exited the wardrobe and went to their next class.
"I'm so excited for Math!" Taehyung exclaimed, trying to get the other male excited as well, but he just frowned weirdly at him.
"You're weird for actually looking forward for Math class," he just said as they sat down at their seats.
"Taehyung hyung! Jungkook!" Hoseok yelled as he spotted them and ran up to them with Yoongi following behind them, "you guys were so awesome in football! Do you play professionally or something?"
Yoongi nodded beside him. "Awesome indeed," he said quietly, but still agreeing to his friend.
"Uhm, I just enjoy it," Jungkook told them, "I used to play with my father a lot when I was younger..."
Taehyung noticed his voice drifted away and his expression became rather dull, so he quickly put the attention to himself instead. "I really enjoy sports," he said happily, "I used to play with lots with my family." It was true. Taehyung used to play with his fellow angels.
"How many siblings do you have?"
Taehyung panicked. "I'm an only child, but I have lots of cousins and uncles and aunts," he said quickly.
"Oh, Jungkook's an only child as well," Hoseok said as he pointed at him.
"I know." Taehyung's eyes widen as he realised he just said it out loud, and so did Jungkook's.
"I never told you though?" he said but it came more out as a question.
"Uhm, I could just tell," he lied. He knew because he had realised by now when he was outside his house. It was only Jungkook, his parents and the maid in the mansion.
"Sure," Hoseok grinned, "someone did some research, huh?"
"Hoseok, don't make him uncomfortable," Yoongi scuffed, nudging him on the side.
Suddenly, Taehyung grew a lot more fond of Yoongi as he defended him, and he sent him a grateful smile. "The teacher's here, let's go sit down." He dragged Hoseok along with him, and so the class started.
Taehyung tried to seem positive about it, but all he could think about was how he nearly made his human suspicious about him knowing something he shouldn't. He knew he had to be more careful, but whenever he was with Jungkook, he just seemed to be able to be himself, and he'd still like him for whom he was, and it made him so happy.
