Taehyung had to made progress in making Jungkook fancy school more than he did, but he didn't know how. He just tried to catch his attention by talking more, but most of the time the human just ignored him.
"Jungkook, look," Taehyung whispered excitedly, "I can balance my pencil between my upper lip and nose!"
Jungkook opened his eyes, but he only glanced over at him for a second and rolling them. "Everyone can do that, idiot," he muttered as he closed his eyes again.
"Really?" the elder asked. He wouldn't know as he had never held a pencil before his whole life. In Heaven, every angel used their own feather of their wings with ink on the tip when they wrote something down, but they didn't often write something as their memory was good enough to remember mainly everything. Taehyung had only written when he either needed to sign something, or just did it for the fun of it. A few days ago he prepared himself as he wrote to get used to it, but he was still sceptical when he had to use a pencil to write down. He just found it weird and unnecessary.
"I hate writing," he had muttered to himself, but the boy beside him heard him.
"Then don't. Nobody forces you," he commented.
"But the teacher told us to complete these questions," he protested.
"He told us, but he didn't force us."
Taehyung frowned at him. "Now that's not the right attitude," he said sternly, "you might end up not being able to graduate, and you'd never find a job, and you'll end up living on the streets."
Jungkook shot up his eyes to glare at the angel with fire in his eyes. "You don't know anything about me, so stop trying to lecture me on how to live my life," he spat at him, already getting angry with him.
No, please don't be mad with me. "I'm - I'm not lecturing you," he defended himself, "I'm just stating the obvious. And since I don't know you, why don't you let me learn more about you?" It sounded better in his head now that he actually spoke out loud; he just hoped his human wouldn't think of him as a complete nutjob.
"Not interested," he replied rudely back. Taehyung was surprised by how he declined him, and it honestly made him feel upset and sad about it.
"No need to be so rude," he said back.
Jungkook almost flinched, but his surprised eyes quickly turned into a glare. "Just stay the hell away from me," he muttered threateningly, and just right after, the bell rang as the class was over.
The human boy quickly got up from his seat and marched right out of the classroom to get away from the angel as soon as possible. Could this get any worse? Taehyung thought sadly. My human hates me.
"Hyung," Hoseok called as he catched him still sitting in his seat, "the class is over. Let's head for English together."
Taehyung sighed as he was upset with himself of how he handed the situation with his human. "I'll be out in a second," he muttered, almost inaudibly.
He had his face in his hands, almost crying. "I'm so stupid," he muttered to himself. Just as he was on the edge of crying, he suddenly heard a sound by the door, he peaked through his fingers and spotted the one and only Jeon Jungkook, his human, staring at him surprised. "You - you're back?" he stuttered, embarrassed over being caught being so frustrated with himself.
"Why do you look so sad?" he asked, almost sounding like he cared, but Taehyung knew better than that after getting to know his personality.
"Because I possibly ruined our chance of forming a friendship," he said honestly, hoping he'd feel guilty and give him another chance, but his gaze didn't seem to waver at all by his remark.
"Why is that so important to you anyways?" he asked as he approached closer. He had apparently forgotten his backpack and book, which must've been the reason he came back, and the angel didn't notice it before.
"I'm new, if you haven't noticed," Taehyung replied sarcastically, "I'd like to become friends with people I find cool and get along with my classmates, especially with my seatmate."
If Taehyung didn't know any better, it almost seemed like Jungkook blushed when he called him cool, but he quickly stared at him like he always did before holding up his cold - but cool - attitude.
"You should get going so you won't get late to English," he just said as he went out of the classroom again, and this time the angel was completely alone.
"Why are humans so darn complicated?" he muttered to himself as he sighed and got up on his feet. He found his English book before the class started again, and he once again sat beside Jungkook, only this time he seemed to have relaxed and didn't throw a fit at him again. If more, he actually didn't doze off in class, and actually replied the angel when he asked him anything.
To Taehyung, English wasn't hard at all. Actually, angels knew most of the languages in the world, especially when they had lived for two hundred years, as Taehyung had. He knew well what was being taught, and even the teacher seemed to have said something wrong, or when she spoke, her grammar was incorrect, her pronunciation being wrong, or writing something incorrectly.
"Did you see that?" Taehyung whispered amused to his seatmate, "she spelled 'supercalifragilisticexpialidocious' wrong. There's no 'K'."
Jungkook stared at him with the biggest frown he had seen on him yet. "And how would you know?" he asked confused.
Taehyung panicked for a second. "Uhm, Mary Poppins?" he said, but it came more out as a question.
"Oh," Jungkook nodded understanding, then carrying on like before. Taehyung sighed in relief.
After English, they had one class left, which was Biology. Taehyung had a natural talent for this subject as well, although he tried to be as careful as he could to not let it show. He was placed as Jungkook's partner for all projects they'd have this semester by their teacher, which Taehyung didn't complain about, and luckily Jungkook didn't either. He was going to make sure he'd be the best partner Jungkook could ask for, at the same time not seeming too smart for the school.
"Next time you'll start on the project I'll give you with your partner. Remember to come with both of your books," the teacher announced right before the bell rang, and the school day was officially over.
Taehyung was sad he didn't get an opportunity to chat with Jungkook during class, and so he tried when it had ended, but he raced out of the classroom so fast even the fast angel lost track of him as he was already over by his locker and threw his books inside.
"See you tomorrow then," Taehyung grinned as he finally had caught up to him, just as Jungkook closed his own locker.
"Yeah," he muttered before he walked past him and was out of the doors and out of the angel's sight.
"See you tomorrow Taehyung," Hoseok grinned as he also walked past him with his new seatmate by his side. He winked at him subtly, obviously showing how happy and close he had become already with Min Yoongi.
Taehyung nodded back, replying the same back, and then he also exited the school building. He remembered Seokjin's words by always staying close to his human, and therefore he tried his best to track him down by following his tickling feeling in his belly, and after a few hours, he stood outside a big house that Taehyung thought was an mansion at first, but quickly learned to be a home when it was obvious by his angel feelings his human was indeed inside, and he saw some figures by the windows.
"Hello?" said a sudden voice behind him, surprising the angel as he was so focused on watching through the windows he jumped slightly.
"Uhm, hi," he replied awkwardly.
"May I ask why you've been standing outside Jeon's house for two minutes now?" It was a lady with a white apron around her, and Taehyung assumed she might've been the maid, as Jungkook's family was probably that rich to have one.
"Uhm, I'm a classmate of Jeon Jungkook. I recently moved here, and I thought I saw him enter earlier, so I just stopped by as I was taking a stroll, and I lost track of time," he excused himself with the best lie he could think of without being banned to come close to the mansion again.
"A classmate of Jungkook?" the lady asked, "why don't you come in then?" She was smiling brightly and lovely, and all clichés of grumpy old maids disappeared from the angel's head.
"That's sweet of you, thank you," he accepted it. Only when he was being lead into the house he started to doubt the plan to be a good one. He didn't think of how his human might've felt for seeing him again like this. From his point of view, would it seem weird, and creepy, in a way?
