Chapter 16: Accept your punishment

They made their way towards the school about two weeks later, the males held hands with their fingers intertwined. They weren't afraid being seen by their schoolmates anymore as they had already told most people they were together. Hoseok and Yoongi were very supportive, and they even dated each other as well. But Yoongi seemed kind of off, which made Jungkook curious as he never actually looked kind of worried.
"Yoongi hyung, you alright?" he asked the slightly elder one. "Something's bothering you?"
Yoongi jumped at his sudden question, seeming troubled whether to tell the raven haired boy or not. "Ah, it's nothing, really."
"I can tell when you're acting off even if the others can't. Remember you've been my seatmate for some years now. You usually never acted like this before," he reassured him.
"I'll just sound stupid, and you'll laugh at me," he whispered, barely audible. It was so unlike Yoongi it made Jungkook worry even more.
"I won't laugh, I promise, and nothing you can say would make you sound stupid. Tell me, I'll try to help."
Yoongi still hesitated, but he sighed defeated. "It's just this funny feeling I've gotten a lot recently, actually since about three weeks ago. Remember how I used to like this boy named Park Jimin, but I don't really remember much of him?" Jungkook frowned slightly. He remembered Taehyung telling him he knew Park Jimin, whom actually was Yoongi's angel before, but they had a relationship similar to the two of them, and was taken up to heaven, and wiped Yoongi's memory. It made him even sadder watching the elder in front of him; he didn't want to end up like him, knowing he loved someone, but couldn't remember them.
"Yeah, I remember. You said he was the love of your life once," Jungkook said, placing his hand on his shoulder to comfort him.
"Right," he nodded, "it's just that in the past weeks, I've suddenly felt like he's closer than he has been for years. Like he's really close, as in my presence."
Jungkook tried not to seem too surprised and overthinking. Was it because of Taehyung? He thought to himself. "And what makes you say that?" he just asked.
"It's just this familiar feeling. I suddenly think much more of him, like I remember a bit more than I used to. I don't even know why I can't even picture him in my head. If he's the love of my life, why can't I think of him like he's right in front of me? I don't have any image memory of him, and it's killing me."
Jungkook hesitated. "Can I ask you why you're dating Hoseok if this is bothering you so much?"
"He asked me out, and told me how much he fancied me," he admitted, "so I thought of giving him a chance. I've been lonely for quite some years, and I thought if I fell in love again, I'd forget about Jimin."
"Doesn't seem to work now," Jungkook commented, "since you seem so troubled and it looks like you're in another world sometimes."
Yoongi sighed again. "I know, and I feel sorry for being such an asshole."
"Hey," Jungkook caught his attention as he nudged him on the shoulder, "you're not an asshole. Assholes doesn't consider other people's' feelings, but you do. Just give yourself some time, and if you need time alone, I'm sure Hoseok will understand, and even wait for you."
Yoongi teared up, smiling at the younger. "I never thought talking to you would ever make me feel better before," he giggled slightly, "thanks Jungkook. You're a good friend, actually."
Jungkook chuckled. "I've changed a lot, haven't I?" he grinned proudly.
Yoongi nodded, chuckling along. "You have indeed. Is it because of your boyfriend?"
"Yeah, he made me realise how I was acting and treating everyone. I was stubborn and thought of myself as a victim to everything, but he made me open my eyes."
"I'm happy for you," Yoongi agreed, "he's having a good impact on you. I'm glad he fought for you, even when you tried pushing him away, which I noticed by the way," he grinned.
Jungkook laughed. "Yeah, me too hyung," he grinned, "me too."
Taehyung and Jungkook were in class for English, but suddenly something caught his attention; he saw a figure by the door, just for a second, and as he glanced around, no one else seemed to had noticed. "Jungkook, did you see that?" he asked his boyfriend, just to be sure.
"See what?" he whispered back.
Taehyung's heart dropped. Maybe it was only him who saw it, and it could only mean one thing if only he could see them. "Oh no."
Jungkook glanced at him worriedly, but he didn't have time to question until he suddenly stood up from his chair and sprinted towards the door and ran out of the classroom. Jungkook stood up to follow, ignoring the teacher yelling after them. He soon caught up with Taehyung, but then he realised he wasn't alone.
"Seokjin sunbaenim," Taehyung whispered.
Seokjin looked as disappointed as if Taehyung had turned like the devil, Lucifer, which was the worst criminal you could become as an angel. "I'm so disappointed in you Taehyung," he spoke up, almost robotically, "I expected more from you. Doing such foolish things." His gaze went from the younger angel to the human behind him, glaring hard at him. "Shame on you, human," he snapped, "shame on you, pathetic angel."
Jungkook's blood boiled in rage, his fist clenching. He was surely about to jump on the stranger - although he was obviously a powerful angel - but luckily Taehyung managed to stop him in time.
"Jungkookie, please don't," he begged, "listen to me, please."
"Why?" he barked, "he'll tear us apart! He's going to take you away from me!" he cried.
"Obviously," Seokjin said in a matter-of-factly tone, "he's committed a crime, and therefore he's a criminal. Criminals rot in jail. Angel criminals rot in jail, in heaven that'll make him wish like he never do the same foolish action again."
This time it was Taehyung who gave the other angel a glare. "No matter what you'll do to me, you'll never be able to make me regret being with Jungkookie."
Suddenly another angel with a piercing cold gaze appeared, giving the rebel angel a wicked creepy smile. "Promise?" he asked, his smile sending down both Taehyung and Jungkook's spines.
"Who - who is he?" Jungkook asked.
"He's the prison's guard," Seokjin said, "he's going to watch over Taehyung and give him a warm welcome. Now, accept your punishment. If you'll excuse us, human, we'll have to return back to heaven."
"Wait!" Jungkook blurted out, not being able to control his tears and emotions, "please don't take him. Please, I beg of you. He can't go, I need him. Isn't that his job? Staying by my side? You're taking him just because we got closer than being my guardian?" he cried his eyes out.
Seokjin scuffed. "Of course not," he said with a straight face, "his job was to protect you, not get in your pants. He's a criminal, and he belongs to us now for an eternity. Hopefully other angel's in the future won't follow his footsteps as he'll become quite the example for our younger generation."
Taehyung quickly turned towards Jungkook. "I'm sorry Jungkookie, I'm so sorry," he cried, being able to give him one last kiss before the guard had taken him with him, both of them vanishing in a flesh in just the thin air.
"Will he be okay?" Jungkook asked as the last remaining angel stood before him. "Will I be able to remember him?" he cried.
Seokjin stared at him for a moment. "Only your feelings and love for him. You'll have no memory of him or any other humans who knew him whatsoever, so don't feel too bad. Your pain will go away in a moment." He approached him, holding his hand in front him, eventually tapping the human's forehead. "I'm sorry."
Nothing happened for a moment, which made Jungkook glance up at the angel. The sight surprised him as he saw the taller angel staring down at him with tears in his eyes, but all of the sudden his vision became blurry, he felt dizzy, and eventually his unconscious body hit the floor.
Taehyung was in chains. Not only that, but he was tied to a chair with his arms behind his back, his feet chained to the chair legs; he had no chance of moving at all.
And the guard whom took him away from Earth was standing above him, having a steel table a few metres away from the prisoner. He had his back against the brown haired angel, but he could hear his giggles and see his smile from behind.
"What's this?" Taehyung asked as he glanced around. The place surrounding him was a dark and tight room. If he didn't know any better, it seemed like a dungeon, and he was the only one, and the guard of course. "I thought I'd be in a cell?"
The guard turned around, revealing his same creepy smile he also wore earlier. "Don't get Earth's and heaven's prison's mixed up," he grinned, "our prison isn't just a cell, no, it's much better."
He walked really closely up to the chained up human with a little sharp doctor knife that was glowing red out of hotness of it. Taehyung's eyes widened, his body automatically starting to struggle against his seat. He tried to free himself, but he had absolutely no chance.
"No, please, I beg of Father, please don't," he cried as the guard crept closer to him, "please don - " He didn't even manage to finish up his sentence until he interrupted himself with a loud, pained scream.
