Chapter Seven

Daniel's POV

"Did we actually just let him walk out of here like that?!" I yelled at the others as we walked down the sidewalk of the neighborhood.

They weren't answering, most likely because they thought I was being ridiculous, but I didn't care. We were just trying to talk to him and he completely overreacted.

"We hurt them Danny, most of all we hurt Stiles when we left like that. We can't just expect him to welcome us back with open arms." Sierra spoke up.

Deep down I knew she was right, but that didn't change the fact that all I wanted was for our family to be reunited, and Stiles won't even look at us long enough for us to explain ourselves.

"He's our little brother. He's definitely the best of us, and I really hate being in this kind of fight with him." I said back, but this time quieter because last thing I need is for someone to laugh at me because I said something like that in public.

"My god you're annoying. Do you even realize how annoying you're being?" Logan asked as he leaned against a fence with his arms crossed,"just give him his space. It's Stiles, he'll come around eventually, but we can't keep trying to force ourselves back into his life or he's going to try even harder to push us back."

Sierra and I both looked at him shocked.

Did Logan just actually say something smart?

"Take this second to wipe the shock of your guy's faces before I smack it off myself."

He then just continues walking down the sidewalk, leaving us standing there until we finally snapped out of our continued shock before following after him.

We were currently trying to find the old diner that mom and dad used to take us to when mom was still alive. The only reason we haven't found it yet because it's been like eight years since we've been here and in eight years it's common to get a bit rusty on directions. Like, we knew the general direction we were supposed to be going in, but we didn't know if the direction we thought we knew was the right one.

"You guys, I think we're lost." Sierra said after another five minutes of walking aimlessly.

She was definitely annoyed, and so were the rest of us, but she was the only one complaining about being lost our loud.

"If we're lost then why's the diner right across the street?"

I swear...if Logan doesn't stop, I'm going to smack him so hard he won't get back up.

Then again, he is right, and I'm hungry so we might as well just go to the diner even though I hate the fact that we're acknowledging Logan being right about something.

"Do you guys even remember what we used to get?" Sierra asked as we sat down at the same booth we used to.

I shook my head, but Logan looked at us completely baffled at what we were saying.

"How could you guys forget? It was a 1/2 pound cheeseburger minus the onion with curly fries and milkshakes."

Logan said this while looking down at the table like he was missing more than we thought he was.

You could tell that he missed this place way more than we had. I mean, we had to heavily convince him to even leave with us, and even then, he complained the entire time about how much he wanted to be back in Beacon Hills.

We only came back for dad and Stiles, but I think he came back for more than that, and just by the way he's been acting, Stiles is most likely going to talk to him first, and Logan is probably going to want to stay here even after everything's patched up.

So we ordered what he had said and ate in silence. Logan was staring out the window, Sierra was staring at her milkshake, and I was staring at the table.

"So how are we going to go about all of this?" Logan completely ignored me, but Sierra on the other hand turned to me and almost slapped me in the face.

"Are you kidding me Daniel!" She whisper yelled,"we can't talk about this in public like this. Who knows who's listening in on us right now."

I hadn't thought about that, she was totally right, but that didn't change the fact that we still hadn't come up with a plan and we were due to report in less than a month.

"Just shut up and eat your damn fries." That was the last thing she said before she too went back to her own mean, and went back to staring at the condensation on the milkshake glass.

"How's your guy's food. Are we going to need any boxes, or dessert maybe?" A waitress asked as she approached our table at the ready.

We shook our heads no, but thanked her anyway and asked for the bill. Well I did anyway, Sierra and Logan just kept staring at whatever they were staring at and let me take responsibility for all of this.

I guess I have the cash anyway.

....

"Well where to now?" I asked as we walked down the sidewalk once again in the pitch black darkness.

They shrugged, or at least I thought they did, it was like pitch pitch black. Like you can't even see your own hand in front of you dark.

"Well, I for one don't want to go back home yet-"

"Just give it a rest. I'm going home. What you choose to do with your night is none of my business and I don't want it to be any of my business." Logan said as he stopped and walked in the other direction that led back to the house.

Why was he being so difficult all of the sudden. He was the one that wanted to come back here and now he's just being moody towards the whole thing.

Now I have a whole new problem to deal with.
