Chapter 4: The Hard truth

The line on the other side of the phone had gone quiet - Jin was waiting for a response from Namjoon, but there was only a long sigh from the other side.

"Jin," Namjoon began softly. "You know very well what I am going to say."

Of course, he knew. He knew what Namjoon would say, 'I told you so.'

"Can we skip the drama and get some dinner?" Jin asked rather. He wanted to unwind from everything that had happened in the last hour.

"Sure, do you want to go to Meaty Way?" Namjoon said excitedly. "We have been trying to go for months!"

Meaty Way? What a strange name. He had forgotten that Namjoon had mentioned this restaurant a few times, but they never got around to going.

He could not even remember the last time he had hung out with Namjoon. He and Minyu were too busy. Come to think of it . . . She had never liked him hanging around Namjoon.

"Alright, should I meet you there?" Jin asked. He did not care where they were going."Yes, they should be open by now. I will be there in the next hour."

"Sounds good . . . Wait until I tell you what Tae, Hoseok and Yoongi got me into." Jin bit his lip, "So, see you soon."

"See you, Jin," Namjoon said, then the line went dead.

Jin placed the receiver down slowly, and he got up from his chair and looked down at his watch. Nothing left to do, but the ring in his pocket got heavy.

If Minyu stood before him again, would he forgive her and take her back? What if there was not anyone else out there?

He shook his head - getting rid of the negative thoughts before he exited his office door. He walked past his receptionist. Who looked like she was going to have a mental breakdown. He paused. 'Should I ask?'

Jin cleared his throat, "Hinea, is everything alright?"

Hinea let out a whimper, "Jin, sir, the phones . . . They have not stopped ringing, and I have placed all the calls on hold. I don't know what to do! They keep asking if it is true that you- sir are going to start in your own movie."

The press were like bloodhounds. The plan was only discussed a few minutes ago... Wait, what if they planned it beforehand? And they only decided to tell him about this master plan today?"Hinea," Jin began slowly, "You can answer their questions with, yes . . . It is true."

Hinea's gaze snapped to him, "Come again, sir?"

Jin sucked in a deep breath, "It had been decided that I will star in our new movie-"

"You are kidding! Are you going to star opposite Minyu?" She asked him excitedly.

Jin's face fell, and his emotions fell to his feet, "We will see," Was all he answered before heading to the elevator.

Yuna put on the apron that Jungkook threw at her, "I am always nice to your customers, Kookie."Jungkook chuckled, "You forgot the one you threw water on."

Yuna smirked, "He had asked to be dripping wet. He was unhappy with everything that I did."

"Even so," Jungkook folded his arms. "We have a standard to be held. I will do more interviews for waitresses."

Yuna turned her back on him, "You better! I cannot help you out as much anymore."

"I know, Una... Thank you." Jungkook replied as she left his office. He sat down - behind his desk; he had to go through the books, but the numbers were not adding up.

Yuna took in a deep breath. She could not believe Jungkook had talked her into doing this interview for the biggest filmmaking company.

What if she was too plain? What if she froze up and forgot her lines? What would she do when she came face to face with Seokjin Kim?

Her cheeks turned a - slight shade of pink, 'Stop thinking about it! He is engaged.' She scolded herself and walked to the front of the restaurant. It did not look like the Meaty Way was going to be busy.

Her thoughts turned to her pre-schoolers, especially Suri. Maybe she should ask Jungkook if she could bring the class here for an outing.

She was caught up with her thoughts that she did not hear the bell when the door opened."Hello, Miss?"

The soft voice brought her back from her thoughts. She blinked. She blinked again at the two men in front of her. She opened her mouth, but no words came out. The one on the left wore an expensive suit.

"Can we get a table for two?" The man on the right asked her. She turned her attention in his direction.

He had brown-blond hair. He wore jeans with a t-shirt, staring at Yuna with a confused expression.

"I, um . . ." She stammered. The man on the left quirked an eyebrow. "Is she slow, Namjoon?"

'Great! Seokjin is standing - in front of me, and he thinks I am slow!' Yuna plastered a smile. She had to get 'herself' together, but his words cut like a knife through her heart.

"Yes," She indicated, "follow me." She led them to a table in the far back of the restaurant. Not even prying eyes would find them. Jin was famous, after all.

Jin and Namjoon sat down. She took out a small notepad with a pencil. She kept her eyes on the pad to avoid eye contact with them, "What would you like, gentlemen?"

Namjoon pursed his lips in thought, and Jin let out a sigh. "Can we get two coffees?"

She nodded her head as she wrote it down. She did not want to speak in case her voice betrayed her.

She turned from them and went to Nimue, "Two coffees for the two in the back."

Nimue watched her closely, "You screwed up this time."

Yuna narrowed her eyes, "Screwed up, how?"

Nimue fixed the coffee, "You weren't your perky self when you took their orders usually . . . customers would be eating out the palm of your hand."

Yuna didn't know how she should answer Nimue. How would she explain that her crush walked in and she made a complete fool of herself?

She was having doubts about that interview. She took the coffee from Nimue. "Are you sure that you won't take it?"

Nimue winked, "I don't. Go get them..."

Yuna returned to the table, placing the coffee before them. She was about to leave - a hand grabbed her arm. "Can we have some milk?"

She nodded, but he did not let go of her arm, "Miss... You are a horrible waitress who can't even look at her customers."

"Jin!" Namjoon chimed in harshly. "That is a mean thing to say! What if she is training, and she is only nervous?"

Yuna bit her lip hard. It was nice for this Namjoon to step in, but she would have to be strong, turning around slowly.

Her eyes met his, and she took a step back. His eyes were soft, and they pulled her in, giving her more butterflies than she already had. "I- I will bring-"

"And sugar," he said in a monotone.

Jin's hand was still on her arm, and he blinked once. Now that he saw her up close, she was gorgeous.

"Coming right up, sir." Her voice was betraying her. It came out shaky, "Would you mind removing your hand?"

Jin's eyes narrowed, and he removed his hand. "Please be quick."

Yuna turned on her heels to fetch what he asked for - Jin turned his attention to Namjoon, "I think we should go to another place, where the waitresses aren't so-"Namjoon held up his hand, "Just because you had a bad day, Jin, doesn't mean you can take it out on others. We are staying."
