"GO KIM!"

"Are you even watching, girl?"

Marinette jumps, looking at Alya. She laughs.

"Honestly, girl! Great support you are!"

"I try," Marinette says. "I was..."

"Daydreaming about Adrien?" Alya guesses, and Marinette nods. Even though it's not true. She was thinking about upcoming episodes for TP. She's told ChatNoir she'll draw with him tonight, but she can't think of any akuma ideas.

"Kim's just won his race," Alya says. "Which means he's going to be in the final."

"Well done, Kim!" Marinette yells, now several minutes late. Alya laughs.

"You need to stop zoning out, girl!"

"Sorry," Marinette says. "The race is starting!"

Marinette watches as Kim goes to stand at the other end of the pool. There's only a few other kids now; a blonde girl, a dark-haired boy, Kim and a girl with short, bright red hair.

"Ready, set... go!"

And they're off. Around Marinette, the entire class is cheering Kim on. Unfortunately, the first one out of the pool is the redhead girl.

"And Ondine has won!"

"Aww," Marinette boos. But Kim doesn't seem too disappointed, as he kisses her right in front of the entire crowd.

"Scoop!" Alya grins, snapping a picture. "Aww, they're so cute together."

"Tell me about it," Marinette replies. "I'm so glad he's moved on from Chloe."

"I know," Alya agrees. "Chloe didn't even bother coming."

All of the swimmers head off to the changerooms, and Kim comes back with the redhead Ondine with him.

"Guys, this is Ondine," Kim says. Ondine smiles.

"Hi, guys. Kim talks a lot about you all."

"You too," Alix says, even though Marinette has never heard Kim mention Ondine, well, ever. "You two do swimming together, yeah?"

"Yeah," Ondine says. She tucks her hands into the pockets of her jumper. "It was great of you all to come and support Kim."

"No problem," Marinette says. Kim proposes that they all go see a movie, so they head over to the cinema. It's just gone lunchtime that Marinette arrives home.

"How did Kim go?" asks Tom. The oven timer goes off, and Marinette slides on some checked oven mitts.

"Close second," Marinette says, pulling out a tray of croissants. "He didn't seem too upset."

"That's good," Tom says. "Put them down over there, I'll put them out in a minute."

"No problem, I can do it," Marinette says, putting the croissants on a plastic tray and carrying them into the main area of the bakery. She puts each one on the croissants section with tongs, and puts the tray back on the counter. "How're you going?"

"Good day," Tom says. "Have you got any homework?"

"History," Marinette sighs. She was hoping that it wouldn't come up. Tom laughs.

"Off you go. Come down if you need any help!"

"Will do!" Marinette replies, and heads upstairs. She doesn't see her mother, and assumes she's out shopping. She'd said something about it the other day.

"History..." Marinette groans, opening her laptop. But she's distracted when her phone buzzes. A message from ChatNoir. She opens Miraculous on her laptop.

ChatNoir: you said we were drawing this afternoon?

LadyBug: sounds good!

Pfft, history homework.

ChatNoir: any ideas, mlady?

LadyBug: i mean, i went to a swimming competition earlier?

ChatNoir: interesting concept. can tikki and plagg swim??

LadyBug: WHY DO YOU ALWAYS DO THIS

LadyBug: i say the most BASIC of ideas

LadyBug: AND YOU SOMEHOW HAVE THE TALENT TO TURN IT INTO SOMETHING INCREDIBLE ITS NOT FAIR

ChatNoir: hi my name is geniusnoir

LadyBug: ...

LadyBug: i thought that had died

ChatNoir: in your dreams, bugaboo

ChatNoir: anyway, they aren't human, so maybe they can

Marinette thinks about it.

LadyBug: yeah i guess

LadyBug: why don't we make this one simple, and then we do something interesting for the next episode

Marinette feels bad. All the previous episodes have been filler. She needs something interesting.

ChatNoir: im free all next weekend?

Marinette opens her phone, and checks her calendar.

LadyBug: sounds good to me, chaton

Before she can start, ChatNoir is already drawing. Drawing... Ondine?

LadyBug: were you at the competition, by any chance?

ChatNoir: haha, no. is my drawing accurate?

LadyBug: spookily

She wonders whether he's lying, whether he was there, but then realises it's none of her business. Her, who was scared when Luka realises her identity.

Marinette helps ChatNoir draw, and despite planning for a simple episode, it becomes more and more interesting. With the flooding of the city, and Syren continuing to kidnap a boy who looks an awful lot like Kim.

She considers messaging ChatNoir, asking him again whether he was at the competition, but decides against it. Everyone has their secrets, and ChatNoir's identity is one of them.

LadyBug: publish?

ChatNoir: if you'll do the honours, mlady

Marinette considers asking him to do it, but changes her mind as she clicks Post.

[A/N: I always thought Syren was an interesting episode, but without the powerups (that I'm not using bc they aren't important in this storyline), it's kinda a dull episode. So I'm posting another one in a sec]
