Marinette smiles to herself. It's been a good day, today. Her grandmother came, her friends threw her a surprise party, and Adrien even gave her a lucky charm. He's carried the one she gave him for so long? Marinette can hardly believe it herself, but she's holding the one he gifted her.

She'd had her lucky charm for years, and it was hard to give it to Adrien. But now he'd returned the favour.

Marinette can barely believe it.

Her phone buzzes, and for a moment she ignores it. She doesn't want to ruin the perfect, fuzzy feeling. She picks up the phone, and the feeling returns immediately.

ChatNoir: evening, mlady. u up for making a new episode?

LadyBug: if u are, chaton

When she's turned on her computer and opened Miraculous, ChatNoir's already begun. It's familiar, to see his icon and his drawing style, and it brings a smile to her face.

ChatNoir: so, mlady, i went past a surprise party today in the park. there was a girl and her family, and id heard she'd had a spat with her grandmother but all had been resolved. grandma akumatisation?

ChatNoir saw her birthday celebrations? He knows about how she disappointed her grandmother?

LadyBug: crazy coincidence, today is my birthday too!! im down for a grandma akumatisation, i think its easy for grandmothers to become upset when they realise that their grandchild is growing up quickly

Not that ChatNoir knows it, if he just passed by, but that's the entire reason her own grandmother was upset. She spots the candy tin on her desk, still full of uneaten candy, and names the akuma victim after it.

ChatNoir: Befana, huh?

LadyBug: an old lady candy, my grandma is obsessed with it. thinks i like it, heartbreaking to tell her i dont :'(

ChatNoir doesn't mention it again, but Marinette watches as the girl in the episode starts to resemble her. It's strange, to see how ChatNoir draws her, and in the end Marinette finds herself drawing backgrounds and side characters, Plagg and Tikki, and watching as ChatNoir creates her in comic form.

And she's so accurate. That's what's strange. She's slightly clumsy, stutters a bit when she talks and doesn't know how to soothe her grandmother. But, despite it, she's missing something. Missing part of her.

Whoever ChatNoir is, he knows her in real life. That's obvious. But he's never had a proper conversation with her. It could never be someone like Alya, who knows her well.

ChatNoir: ure awfully quiet today, princess. everything okay?

LadyBug: ya, im just tired is all

LadyBug: EW what are those candies thats foul

She erases what ChatNoir has just drawn and redraws the Befana candies.

ChatNoir: you said they were disgusting!!!

LadyBug: no, i said i didnt like them. some strange people do

ChatNoir: ive never actually had a befana candy. what do they taste like?

LadyBug: tbh i have no idea how to describe it. you know toffee?

ChatNoir: ya

LadyBug: like hard candy that tastes like toffee, but its slightly grainy in a way but also super super sweet

ChatNoir: so like... savoury, but also sweet??

LadyBug: i told u it was difficult to describe!!

Marinette grabs one of the candies from the pot, and sticks it in her mouth. She's immediately repulsed.

LadyBug: like how some desserts have a raspberry or vanilla undertone

LadyBug: super sweet hard candy toffee with a bread undertone

ChatNoir: omg that sounds so bad

LadyBug: and the worst part is they come in these tins that have like thirty or forty of them in it, so if ur pretending to eat them u gotta pretend for a WHILE

ChatNoir: and u speak from experience?

LadyBug: definitely. introducing... today!!!

"Marinette! Are you going to bed?"

Marinette glances down, where she's still wearing her pink jeans, shoes and jacket. At the computer, which is bathing her in blue light.

"Yes!"

Neither parent comes up to check, and Marinette continues to message ChatNoir as she hears them lock the bakery and go up to bed.

LadyBug: halfway through. lets do this

ChatNoir: i can stay up and finish, mlady. u sure u dont want to go to bed?

Marinette checks her clock. It's just gone eleven.

LadyBug: not at all, chaton. i could say the same to u

ChatNoir: sure?

LadyBug: what about u? u sure u dont want to go to bed?

ChatNoir: definitely

It's nearly two in the morning by the time they finish, and Marinette is still in her clothes.

ChatNoir: u should go to bed. this is the last frame

Marinette doesn't want to go to bed. She wants to stay here, in the comfort of messaging ChatNoir.

LadyBug: u sure? i can stay up

ChatNoir: mlady ive spent the last four hours convincing u

ChatNoir: GO

ChatNoir: TO

ChatNoir: BED

LadyBug: ok ok i'm going. see u tomorrow, chaton

ChatNoir: FINALLY

ChatNoir: sleep well, birthday girl

Marinette turns off her laptop, and gets into her pyjamas. It's only the next day, when Alya points it out as she freaks out that LadyBug and Marinette have the same birthday, that she sees the message from ChatNoir on the last frame.

This ep is based on a girl having a birthday party that I saw in the park today, who obviously resembles the girl in the comic. You happen to have the same birthday as LadyBug. Hope you had a wonderful day!! ChatNoir.
