INT. BIRD ROOM - DAY

PEAR and MIKA wake up chirping their heads off.

BLUEY

What are you guys doing up so early?

PEAR

It's Mika and I's birthdays! I'm 3 and she's 1!

ANGIE

That's so cool! On the same day?

PEAR hit his beak on the cage to signal a nod.

ELIZABETH walked downstairs and into the bird room.

ELIZABETH

Good morning birthday buddies! I'll make you something special for breakfast.

PEAR

(to BLUEY)

I'm as old as you now!

BLUEY

Eh, I'm still a few months older though.

PEAR

But I'm smarter, too!

BLUEY

Not as smart as me!

PEAR

Okay, prove it!

BLUEY

Well, for starters, I know she wakes us up every morning at 7am.

MIKA

(nudging PEAR and whispering)

Did you know that?

PEAR

Erm, okay, I didn't know t-

BLUEY

Ha! See?

PEAR

But you probably just look at the time on the oven every time she walks in.

BLUEY

Uh-huh. So what do you know?

PEAR

Uh, well, I know she gives us millet a lot.

A silence.

PEAR

And she's very caring and treats us like we are her kids.

BLUEY

Speaking of the devil...

ELIZABETH walks in with a plate of freshly-cut apple slices.

ELIZABETH

Hold up. Gonna cover it with millet and seeds though.

ELIZABETH walks over to the millet bag, grabs a few small balls of millet and sprinkles it on the apple. Then she walks over to the seed container and dips the apple slices into it to cover it faster. Anything for her birds.

PEAR

(to BLUEY)

How'd you sense she was walking in?

BLUEY

Experience.

A silence.

BLUEY

I also know when she's coming to our room after her online classes are done because I would hear her unlocking her door.

PEAR

That's insane! Anyway, let's dig in!

ANGIE

We can't dig in until you and Mika dig in first, birthday buddies!

MIKA

Oh. Right, right.

PEAR and MIKA dig their beaks into the seed-and-millet-covered apple slices.

Soon, BLUEY and ANGIE do the same.
