After such a windy night, there is sun peeking through the clouds.

PEAR

There's sun! Is it warm outside, too?

ELIZABETH walks outside with MOM to feel the temperature.

ELIZABETH

(to MOM)

It's a little chilly...

MOM

Birds have feathers. It'll be okay.

ELIZABETH

It's just Pear has a more sensitive immune system, and last time, Bluey got a cold.

The sun gets brighter and brighter.

MOM

Look! The sun is getting stronger. We'll just take 'em home by sunset.

A moment of silence passes before ELIZABETH and MOM pull the bird cage under the balcony into the backyard.

ELIZABETH and MOM walk into the house.

RUSTLE

MIKA

Who's there?!

BLUEY

I dunno but I got my sharp beak ready for attack!

MIKA

And I got my googly eyes ready for more enhanced vision!

PEAR

And I got my huge wingspan ready! I got the largest one here yet!

ANGIE

And I got my sharp claws ready!

PEAR

Alrighty! Let's charge!

Out comes a mourning dove.

PEAR

Eh?

MIKA

Who the heck are you?

ANGIE

You're not our type!

BLUEY

(to ANGIE)

Wait, wait, wait, what do you mean by "our type?" We don't have a "type," Angie.

PEAR nudges BLUEY.

PEAR

Yo, we got company. Let's not make a scene.

BLUEY

Yeah, right, sorry.

MOURNING DOVE

I heard you guys chirping all the way from the other side of the neighborhood! Just wanted to make friends!

PEAR

Yeah right. I bet you're just here to befriend us and then steal our food just like Bluey's other friends.

BLUEY

(to PEAR)

Yo, what happened to having company? We should be welcoming!

BLUEY

(whispering to PEAR)

If we don't make them feel welcome, they might not ever come back!

MIKA

(whispering to PEAR)

Bluey's right! And who knows?

This mourning dove might have connections with other birds, and they may tell the other birds not to come! We'd be lonely!

PEAR

(whispering)

We're never lonely when we have the Hoomans and each other!

ANGIE

(whispering to PEAR)

Hey! Knock it off!

ANGIE

I'm so sorry about that. You're welcome to join us at any time, and Pear made a mess earlier on the floor and all our food fell.

BLUEY

I'll name you Sunny!

SUNNY

Aw, thank you! You guys are so sweet!
