INT. BIRD ROOM - DAY

ELIZABETH enters the bird room after waking up from a good night's sleep.

Elizabeth

Good morning, birds! Did ya'll sleep well last night?

A moment passes.

A cold moment to be exact.

Elizabeth

(murmuring)

Why is it so cold in here?

The door that separates the bird room and the garden shakes.

Elizabeth

Oh my gosh! This door is supposed to be locked! It's loose when unlocked, so it can open at any moment!

ELIZABETH paces back and forth, holding her head in her hands.

ELIZABETH

It's cold now, too! How are you guys doing from that? I'm so sorry about that. I have no idea how that happened. I never even went outside yesterday. It must've been my mom.

MIKA spread her wings as she hung upside down like a bat.

Mika

(to the birds)

Phew! At least our cages stayed intact!

Pear

Yeah! It was so freaking cold that I thought we'd become birbsicles!

BLUEY shook as if an earthquake happened.

PEAR

Yo, Bluey! You good?

Bluey

Is the wind over?

Pear

Yeah, Hooman locked the door, so it shouldn't open and let any air in anymore.

PEAR pooped, but it was liquid.

Bluey

But...the better question is are you okay?

Pear

My stomach kinda hurts.

Bluey

I think you got a cold from the long exposure to the wind. Go rest, okay?

Angie

Rest? Only rest? No! Hoomans must pay for his health! Rah!

Elizabeth

I'm gonna go make breakfast, okay birdies? Stay safe!

Angie

(murmuring)

Oh not so fast!

ANGIE flies onto ELIZABETH's head and chews on her hair, pulling out a few strands.

Elizabeth

Ayo! I just brushed my hair!

Angie

(murmuring)

It's online school anyway. No one cares. It's just a few frizzy parts at the top. All of your classmates know you have birds, so they'd be understanding.

Elizabeth

Can you get off now, please?

ANGIE flies to PEAR and flaps her wings to get ELIZABETH's attention.

Elizabeth

Oh! Pear! Goodness! I'll get you some calcium and vitamins, okay?

Angie

(to the birds)

Alright, done.

ELIZABETH changes the food and water in PEAR's cage and sprinkles on vitamins onto his food and dissolves a spoonful of calcium into his water.

Elizabeth

Feel better soon, okay?

PEAR chirps "thank you."
