NMT: Transformers Predictions
Does anyone follow the Transformers movie franchise? Yes? No?
Oh well, I'm going to potentially spoil the rest of the movies they're planning to do! Oh, and hello!
OK, so director Michael Bay planned this franchise to be an "extended universe." What does this mean? The phrase has been thrown around a lot for various movies, most notably for Marvel and DC movies.
Unfortunately, Bay will be leaving this project after Transformers: The Last Knight, and for good this time. So, maybe now Hasbro can have full control of their stuff again, but being that this franchise is already set the way it is, whether they like it or not, they're gonna have to keep Bay's creation as the set foundation. Critics could say one thing about these movies and Michael Bay, but you can't miss the fact that these movies rake in millions of dollars!
Yes, their last one, Transformers: Age Of Extinction, didn't hit as hard as they wanted, but it still hit hard! The next one coming out in June, "The Last Knight," is expected to surpass "Extinction" by a lot. With the trailers for "Last Knight," it's assumed that Optimus Prime has found his "creator" that he went out to search for at the end of "Extinction." Then he came back after meeting "his creator" but was corrupted. Which is why, you see him fighting the beloved hero, Bumblebee in the trailer:
Now, going back to my point of an "extended universe." Initially, there was only supposed to be the original trilogy, but they wanted to keep working on this franchise. So in order to even make it seem relevant, Michael Bay decided to go with the extended universe approach, which means, every movie will connect with each other in a much larger scale. In "Extinction," they referenced the original trilogy on what had happened in Transformers: Dark Of The Moon. In "Last Knight," this is the first time the first trilogy and the new set of movies will have a crossover. Josh Duhamel as you can see was in the trailer- he was a part of the original trilogy- and he was helping Mark Wahlberg, who's in the new movies.
Now, of course, the humans aren't the only thing that make this an extended universe.
I want to now talk about my theory for what will happen from here on out. If I spoil, I am sorry. For recors purposes, I published this on April 14, 2017.
There have been rumors after "Extinction" (we will now refer to it as "T4") that Unicron was hinted at in the movie. If you saw the movie, do you remember Lockdown's ship?
The rumor says, that this ship is the head of the supposedly deceased, Unicron.
(Sorry, he hasn't had a movie yet, so this was the only cool design I could find!)
Now you may be thinking, "how big can Unicron be for that ship to be just his head?"
Well, Unicron is pretty big. You thought Optimus Prime was tall? If you stand Optimus next to Unicron, let's just say Optimus would need his own ship just to reach Unicron's head!
So, who is this Unicron? Buckle up, because this could spoil the franchise, this will definitely make the movies feel a lot bigger than they depict, and will probably destroy your brain. 😂
According to Transformers lore, there was an entity known as "The One." The One was the core energy of the universe. Basically, it was the God of Transformers, however, The One had no form, it was just an all-knowing entity.
The One wanted to explore more the universe, but wasn't so capable of doing that. So he split himself into two forms. These now twin-entities were named Unicron and Primus.
Unicron was able to explore the universes in part for The One, but could only exist in one dimension at a time. Primus however, could exist within everywhere at once (which makes me wonder why Unicron was even needed).
During this venture, Unicron grew corrupted. Primus knew this, as the two were just halves of one, so they always thought and felt what the other felt. Unicron inherited a desire to conquer these universes with worlds, as he wanted to feed on their life forces. To do this, Unicron was somehow able to transform himself into a physical form, a mobile planet (I told you, he's that big).
Primus knew the only way to stop Unicron was by sacrificing himself. So, Primus sealed Unicron within his own planet for eternity, then Primus did the same with himself to ensure Unicron stays as so. When Primus became his mechanical planet, he became what is now known as in the franchise as, Cybertron, where the Transformers lived. Primus also split his life force into "The Thirteen." This group were the leaders of Cybertron, better known as "Primes" in the movies.
We know of three Primes in the cinematic universe: Optimus Prime, Sentinel Prime (from "Dark Of Moon"), and Megatronus Prime, aka The Fallen (from "Revenge Of The Fallen").
This is where the "extended universe" concept comes into play.
Remember in "Revenge Of The Fallen," The Fallen was known as the Prime who started the war on Cybertron by betraying the Primes? Well, at the time of course, Unicron wasn't an idea for the movies, but his story had an invisible potential!
Going back to the lore, before The Fallen became who he is.
While Primus was Cybertron, and before he distributed himself into The Thirteen, Unicron was still somewhere in the universe....awakening.
Somehow, Unicron broke the seal, and really put the "transform" in Transformers! He learned how to mechanize himself with a special metal and transform into a full body (and that's how Transformers came to be).
Rather than doing the same, Primus THEN made The Thirteen to protect the universe, for if Unicron were to ever threaten them.
Before that even happened, Megatronus Prime thought Unicron was right in his conquest of the world (basically, he was the first Satanist 😂).
So, he became what is now known as a Decepticon, and lead those who agreed with him in the war against the Primes and Autobots.
Now that I think of it, the names make even more sense. The Decepticons, "deceived" their own kind. The Autobots are not only a pun for turning into "auto vehicles," rather, the Autobots fought for "autonomy," and did not want to have rule under Unicron, nor Megatronus.
After a long war, Megatronus was finally defeated, them banned from The Thirteen. That's how he inherited the name: "The Fallen."
Primus' entity was aware of all this, and so, in a final sacrifice, he destroyed Cybertron, sealing his entity away forever, so that Unicron can also be sealed forever, along with The Fallen.
Let's go back to "Revenge Of The Fallen." Somehow, The Fallen has escaped that distant dimension. There was no explanation how, he just did.
My theory is, Unicron found a way to leave his dimension, to the original one. As a test to see if it would work, he probably sent his lackey, The Fallen, to see if he can make it. If he does, begin another war with the remaining Autobots, conquer the planet, then the universe.
If this is true, the plans obviously failed, as Optimus Prime killed The Fallen himself. So now Unicron had know way of knowing if he could go back.
Which, this kinda makes the fact that Lockdown's ship as Unicron's head, less believable. Unless Unicron is shapeless in his imprisonment, and will use that ship and pieces of other planets to reshape himself (Oh yeah, being that he's a planet, he's the first and only Transformer that is made of both rock and metal).
Now moving up to "Extinction." Optimus wants to find his creator, that's Primus. Primus is gone though unless Primus wants to unseal himself somehow and meet Optimus. Which could then release Unicron (also potential spoiler, maybe? 😂).
And back to "Last Knight," not in the trailer I provided, but there's a fuller trailer where Optimus meets his "creator." It's the first female-Transformer, known as Solus Prime, the head of the Primes (#RealFirstFemalePresident 😂). She was the Maker and creator of The Thirteen, after Primus made her.
She also held a romantic relationship with The Fallen.
So, Optimus probably found Solus, and she probably found out he killed her hubby, and decided to manipulate him. She also may have corrupted Optimus (the purple eyes he has), as she now would like to serve Unicron's legacy (side-spoiler again? She may bring him back? Hm? Sorry hahaha).
Now, another alternative I thought of goes against all this, and is much more simpler. In "The Last Knight," Megatron is back....
Megatron.
How is this possible again? He was turned into Galvatron in "Extinction," with that artificial body and such.
Also, Hot Rod (MY FAVORITE) is in this movie. Hot Rod (aka Hot Shot) was basically what Bumblebee was to Optimus Prime in several renditions of the Transformers franchise. Because of this discrepancy on who is Optimus' second-in-command, Hot Rod and Bumblebee are considered "brothers-in-arms." However, it should be noted Bumblebee was first. Hot Rod was just the alternative that people actually wound up liking!
*Again, sorry for the cheesy pic, Hot Rod hasn't seen the light of theater yet either....well, he has...we'll get to that!
I grew up with Hot Rod. I started following Transformers when he was the deuteragonist of the cartoons (at the time, not sure which generation it was, sorry die-hard Transformers-fans).
When I found out Bumblebee was going to serve that role in the first movie, I was livid. It wasn't even a name change nor a nickname, it was this "Bumblebee" that just sucked. I noticed my dad (who used to be a fan) wasn't phased by this. I mentioned the Hot Rod ordeal, and he just looked confused. He was like, "Who's Hot Rod?"
Then he explained that Bumblebee was the first. So, Bumbs' was off on a clean slate for me.
I wound up liking him for the time being and he really was in many ways similar to Hot Rod, with the exception of Bumblebee's voice problem and that Hot Rod is more brash....and of course, color differences.
In another trailer, Hot Rod can be seen speeding down a street next to Bumblebee. Omg here he is on the set!:
Yes, the black one. I know, quite a big pallette change. Oh well! Mah boi is in! But with a twist.
Going back to my alternative theory, sorry.
The biography created for Hot Rod for this movie, in short, is that Hot Rod is a bot from another dimension in which the Decepticons actually won the war that took place in "Dark Of The Moon," but on their world. Megatron killed Optimus Prime, and it was up to Hot Rod to avenge him, which I believe he did.
There's no explanation on how Hot Rod is in the regular dimension now, but here's what I think, and it's more "what-if" than being a theory. What if the Megatron in "Last Knight," is the one from that "other dimension" that Hot Rod comes from? That's the only explanation I can think of as to how Galvatron got a regular body again! And Galvatron was supposed to be a form that was an improvement of his Megatron personna...
So why would this power-hungry robot downgrade??
He might not have.
What if, this "other dimension," just so happens to be the same one Unicron is in? And he sent Megatron to the regular dimension to help win the battle again, because evidently, the regular Megatron couldn't do so, even after his Galvatron upgrade! So Unicron sent his Megatron! And maybe that's why Hot Rod exists too, he probably followed that Megatron to warn everyone!
But here's the thing with that. Being that Hot Rod is now a existing in this extended universe, they might have to also follow through with a potential story arch later on...
You see, in the original comics and cartoons, Hot Rod takes over the Autobots.
Oh yeah.
So this means two things:
1. Optimus Prime will die in, or sometime after "Last Knight."
2. Optimus will retire and we'll just have to get used to Rodimus Prime.
You read that right. By story, Optimus gives his Matrix Of Leadership (it's a stone that dignifies him a leader of the Autobots and gives him the power to be so). You may have last seen it in "Dark Of The Moon:"
When this gets passed down to Hot Rod, he takes Optimus' place as a Prime, becoming Rodimus Prime.
And that's why, he's better than Bumblebee. 😏
Who knows? Two other things can happen:
1. 'Bee will get jealous and will fight Hot Rod (less likely, it'd be weird)
2. 'Bee will die before he sees his bro become a Prime, which won't make the fans question Optimus' decision, given Bumblebee was his first.
Fun Fact though, Hot Rod was supposed to be introduced before Bumblebee in the movies, they just decided it last minute though.
HA!
I bet this was a lot to take in! 😂😅😥
In summary:
1. "Last Knight" is when Unicron will be introduced and Optimus is indirectly serving him, but not to his will.
~Oh! And there's another trailer that includes some planet that looks like it's moving, and splitting apart as it reaches another planet....Unicron basically eats planets...so....perhaps that was an unmentioned Unicron??? (POTENTIAL SIDE-SPOILER #3 😂)
2. "Last Knight" is only building up for Unicron, as they would like to introduce the concept of an alternate reality in which the bad guys have won in the previous movies, and that dimension will later be revealed as the one Unicron currently resides in.
I like #1 better, but #2 is really thought-provoking.
Well, that was my whole theory-rant on Transformers. If this part gets deleted, that means Hasbro somehow found this and threatened me to delete this as everything here is possibly the biggest spoiler ever, so big, might as well should call it a leak! 😂
Oh, and another thing....
There's a story arch, an old forgotten one, where the Transformers meet the G.I. Joe....
A while ago, Hasbro hinted at the fact that they would like to work on such a thing...but nothing confirmed at all.
That's the only reason why they haven't done a third G.I. Joe movie, because they want to find the right time to fit it into the Transformers saga.
And considering Transformers is going extended universe style, they probably want to extend that even further...as in, into another movie (like what Marvel and DC do)......
*cough, cough*, G.I. JOE!....
Well, I'm done here! If you're a fan of the movies and what-not, follow me on this journey, and let's use this as a fact checker for every movie that comes out starting with Transformers: The Last Knight, shall we? This will be fun! 😎
*Thanks everyone, vote if you thought this was interesting, comment on your thoughts, share to others who may be interested, and follow me for more! Adiós.
