Diya's pov...

After our wedding in the temple, We arrived at the church a bit early to get ready. Aunty said that she invited some limited number of people. This time, I had no idea about their traditions and now, Linda helped me to get ready.

The dress needed some fittings and so, aunty had already arranged someone to look into the adjustments. The gown was actually mind blowing. But, I'm not used to wearing these off shoulder's. After the final fitting, I turned to Linda.

" You look ravishingly sexy baby" she winked at me which made me blush.

" I just remembered my marriage. You know what? I was madly in love with John but, before the wedding I got soo nervous. Then, Ryan made me calm down by telling me to think only about my love and to enjoy the marriage and to leave the rest" she said adjusting my dress a bit.

" I have never worn dresses. This is the first dress I get to wear in my whole life which luckily happens to be my wedding dress" I said.

" It's going to be a new beginning for you, Diya. You're lucky to get a gentleman like him. Just leave all your past and like aunty said, believe in you and you deserve the best " Linda said and hugged me.

" I will definitely try to change, Linda. I'm lucky to get a friend like you. You're such a sweet person" I said and hugged her back.

" Of course, I'm" she said, releasing the hug and laughed.

Aunty came hurriedly and after she saw me, she stopped right there "My..My dear, you look like a princess in this. What did my son do to get such a beautiful girl?" She said laughing and came to hug me as I blushed.

" Linda, tell her the procedures and be ready in half ah hour. I will go check the others " she said and walked out.

I turned to Linda and gave her a questioning look and she  explained me the procedures.

Later, I was called and I walked inside nervous. I tried not to look at the people who were present in both of my sides. I shifted my look to see straight. There stood Ryan, in his well tailored, sharp-looking suit. He looked extremely handsome and my heartbeat increased its pace with each step I walked forward towards him.

After I reached the aisle, Ryan took my hand and made to stand opposite, facing him. The pastor started with the opening remark
"Friends and Family of the Bride and Groom, welcome and thank you for being here on this important day.We are gathered together to celebrate the very special love between Edward Ryan and Diya Ram, by joining them in marriage and acknowledge the bonding"

The Pastor turned to us and took the moment to emphasize the significance of the vows that we were about to exchange. It was like a reminder of our duties and roles in marriage. Then, he asked us to exchange our vows. Ryan turned and looked right into my eyes and at that very moment, I forget all the people around me and all the nervousness I had vanished. It was like some magic.

He said " In the name of God, I, Edward Ryan, take you, Diya Ram, to be my wife, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better or worse, for richer or poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, until we are parted by death" he said still looking deep into my eyes. I saw the words roll fluently and I got goosebumps at that instant.

I was so immersed in Ryan's words that I forgot it was my turn to take the vow. I came out of thoughts when Ryan broke the eye contact to look at the pastor. I got tensed and try to search the words. Oh no!! I forget the first line. Linda had taught me, but I struggled to say as it was new to me and was nervous to remember the words.

Ryan looked at me carefully and after seeing me opening and closing my mouth with no words coming out. He understood that I forgot. His frown turned to a smile.

He turned to the pastor and said something to him which was not audible to me and then the pastor  nodded and turned to me to repeat the words. Then, he again asked me

" Do you Diya Ram accept Edward Ryan to be your lawful wedded Husband?" he asked looking at me.

" Yes, I do" I said, looking at Ryan.

" Do you Edward Ryan accept Diya Ram to be your lawful wedded wife?"

" Yes, I do"

Then, the Pastor told us to exchange the rings. "Wear these rings as a remainder of the vows you have just taken"

After we exchanged rings, then the final nervous part was shot.

" you may now kiss the bride"

I again got tensed. I'm not ready for a kiss. This is my first kiss. Nooo.... I thought and closed my eyes when I felt a peck on my forehead. Really, did he just kiss on my forehead? He is a real gentleman.

We turned to face the people and as we walked down the aisle, I could see Ryan's parents heart brimmed over with love and adoration for us. We stood in front of them

"Edward, my child" aunt Grace said and hugged him tight. I could see Ryan's eyes filled with tears seeing his mom. God, they have so much love for each other " Don't cry, Grace" uncle said to her from behind. She released the hug and wiped her tears

" I'm so happy to be a witness to your wedding. Seeing the two of you together is a gift for me. May today to be the beginning of a long, happy life together" She said
when John and Linda joined us.

" My wedding wishes for you Diya. Consider me as your brother. Tell me, if he troubles you. I will make him pay for it" he said laughing. This is the first time John spoke to me. That too, he told me to consider him as my brother

"Thanks a lot, John. The word brother really means to lot to me" I said and smiled.

"No problem" he said and Linda continued

"Ryan, I just told you to get a girlfriend but you showing me your wife. You are too fast, man" she said laughing.

"You won't leave me without mocking. Do you? " Ryan said when others came to wish us. Ryan introduced them to me. It was very formal.

We reached home by evening. I changed to a chudihar.

When I was organising the scattered things. Ryan entered the room

" Actually, I have to be in hospital by tomorrow morning. I took the responsibility for a major operation. So, we need to go. We will be leaving in a couple of hours" he said and I silently nodded.
