chapter 21

sana has been walking on the road from half an hour now, thinking what wrong she did on her part. recalling every single thing happened. she just wanted her mother to come out of hell. she wanted to give her a life where she could express her feelings and do whatever she likes. where she do not have to live in fear of what would happen if her husband gets to know something wrong happened. she just wanted her to be happy that's it. was this too much. then the accusations that were thrown on her. does her mother also believe in all those. despite of everything she didn't expected them to doubt her character after all they are her parents.

her thoughts were broken by the blow of horns, when she realised she'd probably walking in the center of the lane. she looked around to where she was and then realised she had walked a little too far from home. she was not willing to go back home at any cost so she looked around and found an old age home there. she went there to ask if she could stay a night there.

"excuse me. kya main ek rat yaha ruk sakti hoon. vo..." she asked to the guard only to be cut in between rather harshly.

"yeh old age home hai koi hotel nahi ki rat ke lie ruk jao. yahan se thori age ek hotel hai vaha jao." guard said not looking up.

"dekhiye mere pas abhi paise nahi hai. mai hotel mein nahi reh sakti. bas ek rat kal subha hote hi chali jaungi" she requested.

"bola na nahi samajh nahi ata kya." guard yelled at her.

"kya ho raha hai yahan" a voice came from inside. a woman walked to the gate. she looked wise and elegant. she wore simple suit and walked with grace. her aura was very different and positive. she looked at sana and smiled.

"kaun ho beta tum aur kya chahiye." the woman asked politely.

"vo main..mujhe rat ko rukne ke lie jagah chaiye thi...yahan safe laga toh..main hotel mei cahli jati but i don't have any money right now. i promise mai subha hote hi yhan se chali jaungi bas rat ko. vo mera ghar bohot door hai aur itni rat ko jana safe nahi hoga so.." sana said politely hoping she would let her stay. the women looked at her for few seconds and then glared at the guard.

"tum is bacchi se itni batameezi se bat kar rahe the." she asked him angrily.

"maaf kardijiye madamji." guard answered lowering his head.

"ajj ke bad agar mujhe pata chala ki tumne kisi se batameezi e bat ki hai to mujhse bura koi nahi hoga samajhe." she said pointing towards him and he nodded instantly.

"darwaza kholo" she said and the guard instantly opened the door.

"aoo.." she said to sana spreading her arm gesturing her to come inside.

"tumhara naam kya hai" she asked while proceeding towards the building.

"shehnaaz" she said politely smiling at the lady.

"bohot pyara naam hai" she smiled and sana also returned her the smile mumbulling a sweet thank you.

they reacted to the lady's room. she welcome her inside and asked her to be comfortable. she gave sana water which she gulped down as if she was deprived of water for god knows how long. she looked at the watch and realised that she was probably walking for 1 and a half hour now. her feet were hurting and she was beyond tired.

"apne bare mein kuch batao shehnaaz" lady asked sitting beside her.

"umm..mai student hoon. medical pad rahi hoon." sana replied hesitantly not knowing what exactly she should tell her.

"accha...vaise itni rat mein tum aise sadak par akele. are you okay beta." lady asked rubbing her arm back and forth.

"i am okay." sana said. she looked visibly uncomfortable with the conversation.

"bohot pareshan lag rahi ho. koi baat hai to bat sakti ho. main tumahri jo madad ho sake vo karungi." lady said softly. sana's heart was saying her to share everything in her heart but her mind was saying to not trust anyone. she looked like having a war with herself. she looked pained. the lady waited for her to speak and when she didn't she sighed.

"tumhe dekhke hi samajh gayi thi ki something is not good with you. you look like fighting with yourself. mein ek stranger hoon. kehete hai anjaan se apna dukh bat lo to man halka ho jata hai. aur kai baar madad bhi ho jati hai. par koi bat nahi agar tum comfortable nahi ho to mai force nahi karungi. tumhara jab man kare bat kar sakti ho mujhse tum. abhi aram karo bohot thaki hui lag rahi ho. mai tumahare khane ke lie kuch lati hoon. theek hai" saying so the lady got up and left the room without waiting for sana to say something.

she came back 15 minutes later and saw sana sitting on the bed, legs folded and she was massaging her feet.

"tumhare pair to poore suje hue hai. kitna laal ho gaya hai." she gasped keeping the food try on side table and sitting in front of sana. she held sana's foot and looked at them.

"aunty mai theek hoon." sana said and tried to pull her foot back only to receive a glare from the lady. she immediately looked down and let her do whatever she was doing.

"tum khana kaho. mai abhi ati hu" the lady got up and walked out of the room. sana looked at the door and then at the food trey. she was beyond hungry but was feeling hesitant to eat.

"hayee itni bhook lagi hai meko. un logo ke wajah se to maine bhooka hi mar jana tha ajj. aunty bolke gayi hai khane ke lie. khalo kya. nahi nahi aise accha nhi lagta. par ab jab vo ayegi aur dekhenge ki maine unki bat manke khana nahi khaya to unhe bura lagega. haan yehi sahi hai kha leti hoon. aur vaise bhi yeh mere lie hi to layi thi vo. haan." sana convinced herself and took the trey and started eating. she was eating so hurriedly as if she was hungry from ages when the lady walked back in room having hot oil in her hands.

"areh aram se tumhare lie hi hai" the lady chuckled and sana looked down embarrassed.

"aunty app yeh kya kar rahi hai. please aisa mat kijiye." sana stopped her from massaging her feet with oil.

"tum chup chap khana khao. dekhna is massage se tumhara dard bilkul theek ho jayega." the lady said and again started to do her work and when sana tried to stopped her she glared at her to stay quiet and eat.

after eating and massaging session, they both sat besides each other on the bed.

"thank you so much auntyji. agar app ajj help nahi karti to patani mai kya karti." sana thanked the lady smiling at her.

"areh isme kya thank you. wait a second, tumne apne gharvalo ko to bataya hi nahi ki tum yahan ho. unhe chinta ho rahi hogi. mere phone se call kar do. lo." the lady said handing sana her phone. sana's face fell. she was shaking slightly. she closed her eyes to get a grip on her emotions.

"bachha tu theek hai na. kya hua. ek minute kahin tu apni family se lad kar to nahi ayi hai na. bata mujhe." the lady asked holding her hands. this time sana could not control herself and a sob left her mouth. no matter how strong you are, there's always a limit to tolerate and contain within you. if someone shows the emotion that you are yearning for, all the self control breaks and your emotions burst out. same happened with sana. despite of having parents and a full family with almost every relation she never found the conformt which she felt with this lady in few minutes. she was always the one to take care of herself when she was hurting or fall ill. she didn't even remember when was the last time she cried. crying felt foriegn to her beacuse no one was there to comfort her and when she cried, everybody made her feel that she is weak beacuse she is crying so she refused to cry no matter what the circumstance is. all she wanted was to someone to hold her so that she could cry all her pain out today. the lady did the same as if she knew what was going on inside her. she hugged her tightely and let her cry as much she wants.

"unhe koi farak nahi padega." sana repeated between her cries. after sobbing for good half an hour she calmed down and came out of the lady's embrace and looked at her. the lady wiped her tears and kissed her forehead.

"matlab i was right its the family problem. listen to me baccha, i don't know your story, who is right or wrong. but i know one thing no matter its them who are wrong but you leaving the house like this and roaming on road at this hour was not correct. chalo tumahri bat man li ki unhe nahi farak padta ki tum theek ho ki nahi but still you are a girl and moreover you do your part of informing them them that you are alright. okay. now stop crying and call them first then we'll talk." the lady said sternly.

sana wiped her tears and drank some water to calm herself down. she still was not wanting to call them and talk to them. when she did not made the call the lady handed her the phone forcefully and eyed her to dial. sana sighed and dialed her own no. hoping her brother to pick up as she was not willing to talk to others. or say she didn't wanted her thoughts that they really do not care and would have left to come true. there was only 1 % wish that they would really care. she dialed and her brother picked the call and she sighed in reliefe.

"hello. kon"

"hello, bhai mai sana."

"kahan hai yaar tu. pagal hai aise koii jata hai kya. mai kitna pareshan ho raha tha"

"sorry"

"tu theek hai?"

"haan. mujhe to adat hai in sabki tujhe pata hai na."

"didi.."

"achha sun tension mat le. mai ek dost ke ghar hoon aur sahi salamat hu. kal aa jaungi, okay."

"haan."

"kya hua tu itna low sound kyu kia aabhi."

"sab bohot gusse mein hai yahan. tujhe hi dosh de rahe hai."

"isme naya kya hai."

"didi tere ane ke bad hum sab chale jayenge. tu akeli kaise rahegi."

"hum sab matlab. tu bhi.." sana's eyes welled up.

----------

"bol na. tu bhi ja raha hai"

"haan. maine mummy se bat karne ki koshish ki lekin vo nahi man rahi. she said you are wrong this time. when the things are getting better you don't want that." her brother said in a low tone.

"i don't care anymore what she thinks or not. tu bata, tu jana chahta hai. tujhe nahii jana to bol. mai bhi dekhti hu kaise koi zabardasti karega tere sath." sana said. right now her tears were flowing as if the tap is left opened.

------------

"chup kyu hai. jana chahta hai." sana asked a little loudly.

"wahan mummy ko akela nahi chodna chahata."

"theek hai ja. please mere ane se pehle chale jana. chabi bahar gamle ke neche rakh dena. please i think itna to kar hi sakte ho na." sana said coldly and hung up the phone without giving any chance for him to speak. she was hurt, badly hurt. she kept the phone on side and cried in her hands. the lady immediately hugged her. she only listened to the one side conversation but she could clearly tell that sana was hurting badly.

sana kept crying and slept while crying in her lap. the lady placed her down on her side, covered her with the comfortor. she wipped her tears and kissed her forehead hoping tomorrow to be good to this beautiful child.
