Strangers

Elsa POV

We continued to walk, and I felt like I would soon pass out. "Lex, I need food," I whined. He glanced at me. "We are kinda far from the city," he said.

"You should of grabbed more food the last time," he mumbled. "I didn't know we would be out in the freakin wilderness for this long!" I exclaimed.

It was night time, but I see a huge area full of big rocks and gravel. "What in the world?" Lex utters. We walk over to all the gravel, and I frown.

"Did something big collapse?" I ask Lex. He kneels down, staring at the gravel. "It looks like it," he utters.

I start to walk around the mountain of piled up stones, and I see a girl hiding behind another pile of stones, and she was kneeling down touching someone who looked as if they were dead, or knocked out.

I squint, walking closer. "Hey, what happened here?" I shout.

She looks up in alarm, and she immediately rushes down to the body to continue whatever she was doing.

"What the heck is she doing?" Lex asks.

"Hey!" I shout, walking faster towards the girl. She wasn't that close, because there were so many stones. It looked as if one of the cliffs collapsed or something.

I look closer at the body she was dealing with, and I see curly red hair, extremely curly red hair.

I frown, walking faster. I look closer to the face, and see freckles, a small nose, and rosy lips.

"No- it can't be," I whisper, as I began to run.

No, it is.

It's Merida.

She had the bottom part of her covered with big rocks and gravels. She looked like she was dead.

Oh.

My.

God...

Her baby.

"Hey, stay away from her! what the heck are you doing?!" I shout.

I knew Lex was behind me, but I was scared we were not running fast enough to reach her in time.

She whispered a few stuff before getting up, and sprinting in the other direction.

What the heck !!!

"Hey!" I shout.

Lex starts cutting through the stones to reach her faster, but I continue to run towards Merida.

My heart was beating heavily, wondering what I would see when I reached her.

I finally reached her and kneeled down next to her. "Merida!" I shout.

"Mer!" I exclaim, shaking her. I start to tear up. "Please, please Merida," I cry.

I try to look for her pulse...

And don't find one.

Ha.

This isn't real.

"Elsa- just wake up because you're dreaming," I mumble. I start to pinch myself, but it just hurts.

"Wake up!!" I shout, slapping myself as hard as I could in the face.

I wince in pain from my own slap, and realize this isn't a dream. "Merida!!!" I shout. "You're one of my best friends, you can't leave me," I whisper. I bury my face in her shirt, sobbing.

"Elsa!" I hear from afar. Lex.

"I got the girl!" he shouts again.

I feel numb inside, I also feel like I can't breathe.

I look up slightly, and she Lex dragging the girl by her wrist towards me. She was struggling trying to escape his grip, but was just looking stupid as she failed.

Lex brought her in front of me, and let go of her harshly, making her fall in front of me. "What did you do to her?" I said bitterly, as I looked down at the girl.

She looked about our age, with dark brown hair in a bob cut, and bright blue eyes.

"Tell me what the heck you did to my best friend right now, before I kill you," I growled, sitting up.

"Look, I didn't do anything bad to her okay? I'm actually helping her," the girl mumbled, regaining her composure.

"What do you mean you're helping her?" Lex asked. I glance down at Merida, looking at her limp body. "She doesn't look like she was helped to me," I utter, glaring back at the girl.

"I found her here, on her last breath. She was dying. I saw she was pregnant and I couldn't just leave her to die- so, I gave her some elixir," she explains.

"Elixir?" I ask.

"It's some magic potion that can stop you from dying, or regenerate," Lex states.

"Yea, so I gave it to her. It will either save her or her baby- time will tell. It can't save both," she says.

I don't even know what to say, or to think.

Is this real right now?

She placed her hand over Merida stomach, and shut her eyes. "The baby is unresponsive, and so is Merida," she states. "What does that mean?" I ask. "It means, neither Merida or her baby have taken in the elixir, and until one of them does, they will remain unresponsive," she explains.

"How long till one of them takes in the elixir?" I ask. The girl sighs. "Well- that depends on them. It can take days, weeks, maybe even years. If the elixir works on Merida, her baby will die. But if the elixir works on the baby, Merida will die," she says.

"Oh God," I whisper. Tears whelm in my eyes. How did this even happen? "How will we know when it works?" I ask. She pulls something out of her pocket, something somewhat identical to the necklace Lex gave me.

"This necklace will tell when one of them is revived," she states, placing it around Merida's neck. "You have magic?" I ask. "What's with all the questions? Yes I have magic- otherwise I wouldn't be able to do anything I just did," she mumbles.

I roll my eyes.

"So why did you run away when we called your name?" I ask.

"I didn't know if you worked for Pitch or not and I know if he sees me again, I'm dead," she states, standing up.

"Of course, I recognized you from somewhere- and now I know where from," Lex states, grinning suddenly.

She rolls her eyes. "You're that boy who was the apprentice in training? Why did you dye your hair?" she asked.

I glanced at Lex. He scratched his neck nervously. "Dye my hair? What are you talking about?" he uttered under his breath.

"Whatever you say," the girl says. "Wait, so who are you?" I ask. She sighs.

"I'm Sia- Pitch's other daughter."
