Are We Done?
Merida POV
I wipe my tears, standing behind the corner of the next hallway, taking in a deep breath. I glance around the corner to once again see Astrid and Hiccup. They seem to be laughing and talking basically.
It's now or never. You have to leave- now.
I sigh, holding unto my bag tightly. I confidently walk around the corner and stand in front of Hiccup.
He looks surprised to see me, and so does Astrid. I mean, I haven't talked to him for a good minute, after that whole thing happened.
There's a good chance I won't see them again, so honestly- I don't care what they will think of me after this.
I take in a deep breath, looking at him once again. "I love you," I say.
His eyes widen. "Wa-"
"I've always loved you," I continue. I bring my lips to his cheek giving him a little peck, before walking away; not waiting for a response.
I hear commotion from Astrid as I get further away- but do I care? No. I'm moving to Scotland.
Hiccup POV
What Merida did took me completely off guard.
Astrid looks pretty shocked, and somewhat angry. "What the-" she starts.
"What was that?" Astrid asks me.
"What's wrong with you? Why didn't you tell her off?!" she shouts.
I sigh. "Astrid... I can't just-"
"Hiccup, do you like her?" she asks me.
I'm about to say no, but I can't say it. It just won't come out of my mouth. "I-"
"I feel like you do. I've always felt like you have... but I let it slide and just hoped for the best," Astrid says sadly.
"But... I won't let it slide anymore. I want to be with someone who likes me, and only me," she says.
I frown. "Astrid come on. It's not like that," I whisper.
"Hiccup, just stop lying. We're done okay? When you figure out who you really want, you can hit me up," she says angrily. She immediately turns around and rushes off.
What the heck just happened? I sigh and slam my fist on my locker just purely angry. And confused too.
Elsa POV
I sit in the hospital room, getting sick of the hospital scent. Well I mean, it is my fault I'm here again. A nurse comes in with a needle full of blue liquid, making me frown.
"Wait- are you gonna needle me?" I ask, feeling horror rise in me. "Sorry hunny... just really quick okay?" The nurse says. She looks somewhat sad, as she gets ready to inject me.
"Why do I need an injection?" I ask. She looks at me, not knowing what to say. "Um... it's a sedative.. just don't worry about it. This will be a quick one- won't hurt," she says.
I nod. I close my eyes and feel a small prick.
She was right, it was quick. Wasn't even painful. I sigh in relief, as she bandaids me.
"Told ya," she says smiling, before walking out.
I felt something weird going on however. My whole body gets cold. Extremely cold. I feel my teeth chatter, so I pull the blanket over me.
"What in the world?" I whisper.
After a few minutes, my body temperature returns back to normal. Probably just an effect of the injection.
"Elsa, you have a visitor," the nurse says, smiling through the curtain. I smile back and she walks off.
I wait patiently, and in comes Merida.
She was crying, and her hair was messier than usual.
"Mer, what's going on?"
She smiles through her tears, and sits on the side of the bed. "You shouldn't be worrying about me, you're the one who's in the hospital," she says.
"Mer... come on," I whisper.
She sighs. "I'm moving to Scotland sis. I came to say bye," she says, wiping her tears and smiling lightly at me.
"What?" I ask, completely perplexed. "For good?" I question. She nods. "Oh my gawd..." I whisper.
"No way..."
"Yes way... I'll miss you," she says.
I wrap her in a hug, feeling tears run down my eyes. "I'll miss you more. You've been my ride or die," I tell her.
"Promise we won't loose contact?" I ask. She nods. "Of course," she replies. Her phone starts ringing, and she looks at the caller and sighs. "Sorry it's my mom.. I have to go now," she says. I nod, giving her one more quick hug.
She waves one last time before rushing out of the room.
I take in a deep breath, trying to stop the tears.
"Elsa? You have another visitor," the nurse says, peeking her head in once again.
I nod, and lay back on the bed. I hear the curtains open, making me turn to see Jack.
I sigh. "Hey..." he whispers, walking closer with a bundle of roses in his hands. He sets them on the table and sits on the chair next to me. "Thank you, they are beautiful," I say.
"I'm so sorry for everything that's been going on," he says. "I can't believe Anna-" he starts, then stops.
"I can't imagine how you are feeling," he continues. I smile. "I guess I'm getting better by the day," I reply.
"I don't want to have a grudge with you anymore Jack. I'm honestly cool. We are cool," I tell him.
His eyes widen. "Seriously?" he asks. I nod. "I'll still be trying to make it up to you," he says. I nod.
"So we're starting over?" he asks. "Yep," I reply.
"Alright. Hey, I'm Jack," he says, holding his hand out. I laugh, and shake his hand.
"I'm Elsa."
