The glass of water that was just lifted from the table, when down in a matter of seconds and shattered. But none of us cared for that as we ran upstairs, from where we had heard the scream.

We entered Olivia's room to find her trying to remove the electric curler from her hair.

"Olivia....", Mr. Brosnan demanded an explanation, and Ryan stood at the entrance of the room, one hand placed at his chest in an attempt to calm the heavy breathing that was caused due to the shock.

Mrs. Brosnan and I removed the appliance from her hair, as she made her guilty face, for the commotion that she had unintentionally caused. The men in the house moved back to the foyer, while we helped Olivia in completing her look for the evening.

 She was ready in 10 minutes, and after saying our good byes to the couple, we headed to the car.

I sat on the passengers seat while Olivia drove the car, making Ryan sit in the back seat of his own car. No one, exactly no one can win an argument from her. And tonight she wanted to drive.

"When I meant, I'll pick you guys, I meant I'll drive", Ryan grumbled in a whisper knowing Olivia will back fire, which she absolutely did.

"Shhhh, let me be careful with the love of your life", she said referring to the car, which he was quite possessive about.

"Dude you better be, you are driving with a pair of 6 inch heels", he said.

"High heels have a lot of benefits, you know Ryan?", Olivia asked.

"Like?", Ryan said.

"You can let the other person have a taste of them as well, want some? Oh maybe you've already tasted enough.", Olivia giggled, referring to the girls whose heart were broken by him, and who in return must have given him a little reward for that.

I couldn't take it anymore an I laughed. I turned around on my seat to look at Ryan who was sitting behind the driver's seat.

He looked at me, and I gave him the sad face, and in return he smiled.

"Btw, Oli, you look good", he said with the iconic smile.

"I always do look amazing honey", she said.

Olivia was back, from the depressed self she had become since a few weeks and I couldn't be more happy to see her sassiness back.

"I missed you", I said to her in a soft voice.

"Aww, I missed myself as well", looking at me for an instant she said lowly, and then looked back at the road.

"Awwwwwww, we are back", Ryan said and placed one hand on my shoulder and the other on Olivia's. We looked at each other and laughed.

We entered the school grounds, and I was proud to see that our hard work had turned up well.

The lights were up and the lightly darkening sky was covered with the web of  golden lights, all of which seemed surreal to be real.

Adam and Carter were waiting for us. I looked at Adam, and couldn't take my eyes off. He was wearing a black quilted sweatshirt with dark blue jeans and a pair of black high soled sneakers.Simple but classy, so Adam.

Carter was wearing a white full sleeved t-shirt and black jeans, with white sneakers. 

"Lucy, Olivia you look.......", before Adam could finish, Olivia interrupted,"stunning, I know bitches, we always do", she said looking at Adam.

Then she turned her gaze to Carter who was looking away. She looked at him, and then dropped her eyes to the ground. Carter moved away without even looking in her direction.

Olivia followed him, excusing herself. The three of us looked in their direction. Olivia reached up to Carter after a few seconds and the two of them starting talking, for the first time after Olivia had spilled the truth. They seemed calm and then Olivia hugged Carter. 

"They look good together", Adam said.

"What did you say to Carter?", Ryan asked Adam.

"I just told him that he seems miserable without Oli, and should at least talk to her once, for old times sake", he said looking at the ground.

I couldn't help but smile. Always the problem solver. 

"Well you," Adam began looking at me, "look...", he paused for a moment, looked at me in the eyes and then continued, taking a sigh, "beautiful".

The way he said that sent shivers along my spine. 

"I look handsome, bro but beautiful? is fine by me I guess",said Ryan.

Looking at Adam with a sarcastic smile. Adam put his arm over his shoulder, and said, "You know what?",

"What?", Ryan asked.

Now Adam held Ryan's shoulders in his hands, and moved behind him, "All the Best with those good looks", he caught hold of my hand next and pulled me along him as he walked away quickly.

We stopped a few seconds later and I turned back to see Summer standing with Ryan, talking to him.

"Ohhh", I said realization hit me hard. The good wish was for handling the Queen Bee of the school.

"She is still not over him?", I asked Adam, still looking in Ryan's direction.

"Nah, she never is", he stated.

"I pity Ryan", I said making a sad face for him.

"Well, Lue", Adam said,"I meant what I said"

"About Summer?", I said. I looked at him, he was looking at me intensely.

He moved closer to me, I didn't back away but a confused smile took over my face.

"That you look beautiful, dumbo",he said placing my hair behind my ear.

"Did you just call me dumb?", I asked him.

"Seriously that is what you noticed?", he said now on the verge of laughing,"You Lucy Pierce are impossible".

I was about to blush when I realized he called me beautiful, but Ryan saved me from Adam again.

"Dude really, you should have warned me?", he said coming near us, "And I didn't expect this from you Lue".

"I had no idea", I said.

"Really, like the time you both glued me to the desk?", he asked.

"Yup", I said giggling and extending the p.

"Adam, you are so dead, just wait and watch", he said it to Adam.

"Guys, everything is set right?", I asked them.

"Yes Lucy", both of them said at the same time giving me an exhausted look.

"Fine , now can we please have a drink?", I asked them.

"Sure", Adam said and started moving towards the parking. 

"Hello? the counter is towards the right", I said.

"Really apple juice is what you want", Ryan said rather asked.

"You guys.....", before I could finish.

"Yup, in the car", Adam said.

"This is a school event", I stated.

"Well", Ryan continued," Shut up, kiddo". 

I gave him the hurt look listening to the kiddo. Adam looked at me, and hit Ryan on his head with his hand. Ryan's head went down and came up back up.

"Ouch", Ryan grumbled.

"Let's go", I said.

We called the other two of us near the car. The five of us had beer and after we were done with one, we thought of going back in. Olivia and Carter seemed so much better. They were comfortable around each other and everything was not at all awkward between them now. What is it that they talked about? I'll ask Oli later, I thought.

Adam, Carter and Olivia moved towards the school ground, while Ryan and I wrapped up the area, by putting the bottles back in the car, and he locked the car.

The two of us also started moving towards the ground. I was admiring the fest we had put up together, when I felt Ryan holding my hand, walking beside me.
