chapter thirty four.
Creep — Radiohead
Gianina was up for the plan to let her brothers kill Klaus. He had turned her into a monster and sure, with that came a newfound love for herself but, she still killed people who did not deserve it and that's what made the girl truly angry. In another life, she cared about the hybrid but in this one? All she wanted was revenge.
"It's not wrong to feel bad about this, Beks." She commented as the girl painted her nails, Mikael a few feet away from them.
He was yet another surprise, one sprung on the girl by her obnoxious brothers.
"He hurt me." The Mikaelson girl did her best to keep her composure, clearing her throat as she made eye contact with the other vampire.
"He hurt me too, and a lot of other people." Gia leaned in, trying to study the girl carefully. "He deserves whatever is coming to him but I care more about making sure you are okay."
"Did you ever think that maybe I deserve it too? My father chasing me for decades on end, being daggered in a box—"
"No." Gianina cut the blonde off immediately, shaking her head. "All you want is for someone to care about you, I understand that more than anyone."
"and do you? Have someone who cares about you, I mean." Rebekah asked thoughtfully, running the nail polish over her finger.
"I—..I uh, I don't know." The Salvatore girl cleared her throat. "I used to think so but looking back, the number is a lot smaller than I thought. I know that Jeremy cares and... maybe that's all?"
"We cared for you, Niklaus and I." The Mikaelson girl smiled faintly. "But that was a long time ago, I suppose it doesn't matter anymore, considering we are going to let my father kill him."
"I'm sorry, Beks—"
"Don't worry, I make my own choices and this one was necessary." Rebekah glanced over Gia's shoulders, tensing slightly as she seen Mikael waking up. "Finally, it took you long enough."
"I think that's my cue to leave." Gianina awkwardly got up to her feet, looking between the two vampires before walking off.

Gia was absolutely pissed in the very moment she seen Rebekah Mikaelson with a dagger in her heart. The girl was meant to be her friend date for homecoming but, Elena Gilbert had other plans. Ones that once again, screwed up things for her.
"You must have some personal vendetta against me." Gianina sighed, running a hand through her hair. "Even before Klaus was here."
"That's not it." Elena shook her head, reaching forward slightly before the Salvatore girl backed away. "We couldn't trust her."
"In the back? Harsh." Damon commented, ignoring the girls as he laid a blanket over the blonde.
"It had to be done. Rebekah was never completely going to be on our side." The Gilbert girl defended, clearly stressed out.
"I'm not judging you, it's just very Katherine of you." The eldest Salvatore replied.
"Not the way to make me feel better about myself, Damon." Elena shook her head, glaring at him fiercely.
"But he's right. You are just like her, even if you don't want to admit it. You know what? Forget all of you. If you want to kill Klaus, do it yourself." Gianina sighed, fighting tears before she walked out of the room, her fists tightly balled.
The girls feet took her outside, her phone ringing immediately as if whoever was calling knew she was upset.
"It's you." The distaste in the Salvatore girls voice was evident as she picked up, her feet bringing her into the woods.
"Oh, you've saved my number, wonderful." Klaus sounded like he was smirking on the other end, and he was. "Is something wrong? You sound a bit angry, love."
"I am angry." Gianina gritted her teeth, letting her eyes close slowly. "What do you want?"
"I want to see how you are doing." The Mikaelson man laughed over the other line. "Is that a bad thing?"
"I know you want something, it's always something with me." Gia sighed, tapping her foot against the ground. "I can't go a day without someone asking for a favor."
"Well, it is more of a question, and I trust you to answer it truthfully." Klaus paused a moment before continuing to speak. "I know your humanity is back, and your morals will stop you from doing the wrong thing."
"What exactly is the wrong thing? Hm, I want to know because at this rate, nothing is right." Gianina started pacing back and forth, running a hand over her forehead. "The right thing just doesn't make sense, not with everything going on."
"I assume nobody in Mystic Falls took your little vacation very well?" The Mikaelson man questioned, taking the girl by surprise he actually cared.
"No, not at all." Gia felt her eyes water before shaking her head. "and it's your fault."
"My fault? All i've done is give you the chance to have power over them all." Klaus defended, the Salvatore girl hearing shifting in the background. "You are not their lesser anymore, not even their equal, you are better."
Gianina was even more taken aback by his statement, her whole life she had felt belittled, used, and more by not just people she considered friends but, by her family too.
"Does that make you better too, Mr. Mikaelson?" The girl asked, raising a slight brow.
"We are the most powerful creatures in the world, love. No use in denying it." Klaus replied in full confidence, never skipping a beat.
"You're right." Gia knew in that moment what she'd do homecoming night.
May the best side of this story win.

Gianina rolled her eyes as Elena approached, the girl wearing a smile on her face. The Salvatore fixed her dress before folding her arms over her chest defensively. The Gilbert girl always found a way to undermine her, and she hated that.
"I am not in the mood to talk, Elena. Don't you think we've done enough of that today?" Gia sighed lightly, being mean never felt good to her but right now, it was therapeutic.
"We have?" The Gilbert girl raised a slight brow. "We almost never talk, actually."
"I really don't have time for this." Gianina glared at the girl. "I would be having more fun if you didn't dagger my date."
"Date? You were really going to come here with Rebekah?" Elena was tapping her foot on the ground now, making the Salvatore girl furrow her brows.
"Klaus wasn't much of an option, you and my brothers basically ran him out of town on purpose, remember?" Gia rolled her eyes slightly, a smirk forming on her lips. "With Katherine's help."
"I'd hate to say this but she actually did the right thing for once." The Gilbert girl shrugged. "Maybe she's learning right from wrong... but uh, Klaus? Really?"
"Speaking of which... can we go inside, alone? Nobody told me about the plan earlier." The Salvatore girl finally wore a smile as she rocked back and forth, her eyes locked on the other girl.
"Yeah, sure." Elena began to follow Gia as she made her way into the Lockwood house, both of them heading upstairs to a quiet room. "What part of the plan do you want to—"
The brunette was met by a hand going around her neck as Gianina used her strength to push her against the wall.
"You aren't as good at playing Elena as you think." The girl narrowed her eyes. "What are you doing here?"
"It's." Katherine slapped the girls hand, her grip loosening slightly but not all the way. "Apart of... the plan."
"... and that plan is?" Gia honestly felt bad about the gesture, but she couldn't keep letting herself be thrown under the bus anymore.
"Can't tell you." Kat coughed as she looked at the ceiling, running out of breath. "Your brothers don't trust you."
"But they trust you?" Gianina sighed, letting the other woman drop to the ground. "Unbelievable."
"What is that supposed to mean?" The Pierce woman furrowed her brows as she shuffled up onto her feet, sorting out her dress and hair.
"You are untrustworthy." The Salvatore girl spaced out every word. "And extremely filled with bullshit."
"Don't act like that, I missed you." Katherine grinned. "I know you missed me."
"Actually, I didn't." Gianina shrugged, no guilt on her face because of her response. "I had no feelings and when they came back, I thought of all the shit things I did and what led up to it all, and honestly? You are the beginning of my miserable fucking existence."
"You don't mean that." The Pierce woman pouted slightly. "I'm the love of your—"
"My life?" The Salvatore girl scoffed. "I'm sure the real love of my life wouldn't mess around with my brothers, or lie to me, or hurt me the way that you have since we met."
"Gi—"
"I have a party to get back to, you have a plan to get back to. Let's leave it at that, okay?" Gianina smiled faintly as she walked away, tears threatening to poor from her eyes as she made her way back towards the party.

The party began to escalate when Mikael showed up. Currently, he was holding Katherine (who Klaus thought was Elena) captive and threatening to kill her. Gianina stood by Klaus' side, not knowing why at all, she was still furious by what he had done to her but, also appreciative?
"I just need to be rid of you." The Mikaelson mad said to his father, the words ringing over and over in the Salvatore girls brain.
Maybe the one thing she needed was to be rid of Katherine Pierce, the root of all her problems to begin with.
"To what end, Niklaus? So you can live forever with no one at your side? Nobody cares about you anymore, boy!" Once Gia looked over, she seen tears appear in her fellow hybrids eyes as she looked back down to the ground. "Who do you have other than those whose loyalty you have forced. Even this one right here, your so called soulmate, you have also forced her."
"What?" Gianina furrowed her brows at the comment, both Katherine and Klaus's faces dropping immediately.
"You mean you don't know?" Mikael chuckled a sinister laugh as he leaned back slightly, holding onto his stomach. "It is priceless that not even she, who is destined for you has any love for you, boy."
"I'm calling your bluff, father." The Mikaelson hybrid was now practically crying as his body shook angrily, his glare very prominent. "Kill her."
"Come outside and face me, you little coward and I won't have to." Mikael insisted.
"... and if be does?" Gianina stepped in front of the man as he was about to reply, a calm tone in her voice. "What? You kill him because you are afraid of how poorly you raised him? That seems cowardly to me."
"Watch your mouth you filthy—"
"Do not speak about her!" Klaus gritted his teeth, his yell almost sounding like a roar as he continued. "My whole life you have underestimated me. If you kill her, you will lose your leverage. So go ahead, go on, kill her. Come on, old man, kill her!"
"Your impulse, Niklaus." Mikael chuckled lightly. "It has and forever will be the one thing that keeps you from being truly great."
He stabbed Katherine in the back, Gia feeling an impulse to rush forward and save her, even if it would heal soon enough.
"I'm fine." The Pierce girl mouthed, a smile on her face as she scrambled up to her feet, Damon attacking Klaus inside.
Gianina was utterly confused as she watched everything unfold, Mikael in the same exact boat as her.
"Katherine." The man mumbled as the vampire got up, holding to vervain bombs in her hands.
"Kaboom." The Pierce woman said as Gia ran inside, the bombs going off and distracting all the hybrids Klaus had made to protect him.
"No—" Gianina was shocked when Stefan tackled Damon to the ground, pushing him away from Klaus. The next thing she knew, the Mikaelson man was running towards his father with a stake and plunging it into his heart, the original vampire going up in flames.
An eventful night, and Gia still didn't know what the hell was going on.
Authors note:
Here's a new chapter! Believe me, I know that Gia's feelings are all over the place but I want to make it clear that it's because she is learning to put herself over others while at the same time still trying to be herself.
Also I skipped the previous episode because she didn't fit at all lmao
Three words to describe Gianina?
Hope you enjoyed!
