chapter forty seven.
Aint it fun — Paramore
There was some pesky feeling that was keeping Gianina Salvatore in Mystic Falls, and it wasn't the fact that Elena had turned into a vampire. Something just felt unfinished there, and as much as she would've loved to go with Elijah and explore the world, explore the art she loved, something inside her couldn't, not just yet.
There was something she was leaving behind, she just didn't know what it was yet.
The only bad part of this was, the council was after every single vampire in town because of Alaric, and even as a hybrid, they had the means to take her down if they pumped enough vervain in her. Gianina looked carefully around the square before she started to speed walk across, trying her best to not garner any attention from the locals. Suddenly though, as she neared her building she felt the pricks of dozens if vervain shots in her back.
As she started to speed up, the girls heart racing, she was stabbed by four wooden stakes, her body aching like crazy.
A rush of council members approached her and dragged her off the street into an alleyway. There, they dosed her with even more vervain, and as the girl got weaker, and weaker, they tied her up. Gianina couldn't think straight, the poison coursing through her veins.
She kept calm though, knowing at one point these men would have to mess up enough for her to escape. Gia knee she must keep the confidence she had gained. She was a hybrid, and as such, she was more powerful than any of these men trying to hurt her.
"Put her with the others." A voice demanded as she felt herself being picked up, the sound of large metal doors opening.
Her vision was blurry and faint but, it seemed as if she was being put into some sort of truck.
"Put... me down." She managed to utter out, pain and suffering in her tone.
They did as she asked, but, that was not how she meant her request.
It seemed like the vervain wore off as Gianina shook awake. She tried her best to rip her way out of confinements but, it burned her skin far too much, and she was still all too weak. As her vision cleared, she seen the familiar faces of her two blonde friends, and pondered who else had been captured.
If they could capture a hybrid and an original, there was no limit to who else they could get.
"What is going on?" She questioned, looking around. "Where are they taking us?"
"No idea but, it looks like Alaric outed us all to the council." Caroline spoke, lightly shrugging her shoulders.
She seemed to be unphased, which was understandable for a girl who just lost her boyfriend.
"The council? What exactly do they think they can do to me?" Rebekah questioned with a scoff, lightly shaking her head.
Just then, the van crashed, and glass shattered around the girls as the vehicle began to flip over.
"What the hell happened?" The Mikaelson blonde asked, out of breath as the trio of women panted.
The back doors to the van were ripped open, and as Gianina hung above the other girls, she had the perfect view of Tyler being the one to do it. Her eyed widened at the sight of him, it was practically impossible for him to be there. Maybe though... if he was alive, Klaus could be?
"Tyler?" Caroline questioned in confusion.
What confused everyone even more was that he went to help Gianina first, and not his own girlfriend.
"I'm harder to kill than you think." He replied as Gia fell out of her ropes, and safely on the ground.
He began to walk away, the Salvatore girl not being able to comprehend why in that moment.
"I've got you." She went to Caroline, who she had fallen closer to and pulled her out of the ropes carefully but, as she reached for Rebekah, Tyler pulled her back.
"There's no time." Caroline had already run off in the opposite direction, which allowed the man to speak freely. "Keep them busy little sister."
It was Klaus, and he was alive.. in Tyler's body?
Once they got further into the woods, Caroline ran to "Tyler" and pressed her lips against his. Klaus quickly pulled away from the kiss and looked at Gianina for help with this explanation, which even she didn't understand. The girl shrugged her shoulders, and motioned for him to speak.
"You're not even going to try to help me, love?" He asked with a smirk.
"Nope." Gia lightly shook her head.
"Love? What are you talking about? What's going on—" Caroline's eyes widened in realization before wiping off her mouth. "What the hell did you do to Tyler?"
"Ah, she figured it out on her own." Klaus clapped slightly, walking further into the woods.
"I'm not even completely sure what we are figuring out here, i'm still confused." Gianina noted, her brows furrowed.
"Put Tyler back." Caroline demanded, in almost a motherly tone.
"Gladly, then maybe, my precious Gianina could give me a proper welcome." Klaus replied, his laugh only making Caroline angrier.
Gia decided to walk away from the conversation entirely.
Klaus, Gianina, and Caroline made their way to Jeremy in Bonnie in hopes of getting the original hybrid out of Tyler's body. Apparently, she had exasperated all her magic on trying to save Elena from turning, and now there was nothing left for her to do. This was going to be a tense situation, even more than it already had been.
"I upset the spirits to save Elena. I can't use that magic." Bonnie explained, practically pleading for more time. "It's too dangerous."
"So there's no other way that we can get Klaus back into his real body? and give Tyler back control?" Gia questioned calmly, knowing that if she didn't her counterpart would ask in a way that would only agitate the situation.
"No." The Bennett witch shook her head.
"Bonnie, do the bloody spell!" The Mikaelson man yelled, stepping forward in anger.
Gia pressed a hand against his chest and pushed him back slightly with a sigh.
"She said she can't, okay? We'll just wait a few days until you're strong enough to do it with traditional magic. Right, Bonnie?" Caroline suggested.
"That seems like a good idea, Klaus?" Gianina gave him the eye that he should just agree but he was seemingly desperate to get back into his own body.
The man ripped his shirt open, extended his claws, and pressed them heavily against his chest right where his heart would be.
"What are you doing?" Caroline asked, her eyes full of fear.
"Ripping Tyler's heart out. I'll jump into someone else. Maybe you." He looked at Jeremy.
"Klaus, stop it." Gianina warned.
"Oh my god, stop, stop." Caroline yelled at the top of her lungs.
"Pick, Bonnie." Klaus demanded, "You or Tyler?"
Gianina felt bad, she knew she didn't owe of these people anything and that Klaus was just trying to return to his body but, it felt wrong to manipulate them.
"Fine, i'll do it." As soon as Bonnie said those four words, Klaus stopped, and smiled lightly.
"Let's begin."
Bonnie was doing her best to make the spell happen. In order to do so, she needed to use black magic, which wasn't safe for her, or anyone else around her. Gia could tell Jeremy was upset about the girl he cared about being put in danger, and she understood that very well.
The witch held onto Tyler's head and chanted, the boy gasping for air within a few moments.
"Tyler!" Caroline breathed out with a smile, she was so worried he gad died, that the feeling of him being alive compared to no other.
"Caroline, hey." He smiled brightly, and as he was about to get up, the boy fainted, Bonnie continuing to chant.
Gianina's heart raced, and she looked around to faces equally as confused as her as Caroline went to make sure her boyfriend was okay.
"What the hell is going on?" She questioned.
"Bonnie... what— what are you doing?" Jeremy asked, stepping slightly closer. "Bonnie, it worked, stop. Bonnie, stop the spell!"
Finally, after a few moments the Bennett girl stopped the spell and burst into tears, "what have I done? What did I do?"
She was shaking tremendously but, the spell had worked, and everything in the real world was going to be okay.
Gianina rushed upstairs of the Mikaelson home like nobody's business. The spell had worked, and that meant Klaus was in his own body, and alive. The moment she thought he was dead, she felt an uncontrollable sadness, and now that he wasn't dead, some part of her was... happy?
Which is what brought her here.
"I knew you'd be the first to see me." The Mikaelson man spoke with a smile, not even having to look up to see who it was.
"Well, here I am." Gianina spoke, now standing in front of him.
"Did you miss me, love?" Klaus grinned lightly, running his hands over a case of something the Salvatore girl didn't really know what of.
"You're pushing it." Gia let a smile peak through, and as the Mikaelson man stood straighter, she launched herself into his arms.
He was taken aback, seeing as the girl hadn't shower him much emotion in the past but, was grateful nonetheless. His body relaxed, and he wrapped his arms comfortable around the girl. It was a brief hug but, one they'd both remember.
"Does this mean we are friends now?" The man asked with a childish smile.
"You know what..." Gianina nodded slightly. "I can deal with us being friends."
Never did she think she'd be saying those words, to this person.
