Freaks — Surf Curse

After all she had done, Gianina assumed that nobody would come knocking at her door ever again. She assumed wrong, and was surprised to see Rebekah on the other side, the original vampire looking distraught. The Salvatore girl furrowed her brows, about to speak when she was interrupted.

"There's no time for chit chat, we have a dire matter we need to discuss." The Mikaelson girl made her way into the room, slamming the door shut behind her before she went over to the kitchen and put the sink on.

"What exactly is that for?" Gia quirked a brow, leaning on her countertop.

"Your brothers, they've been snooping around here and they cannot hear what i'm about to tell you." Rebekah let out a sigh as she held onto the bridge of her nose. "As you know, if Klaus dies, you die."

"I vaguely remember that." Gianina replied sarcastically, hoping there wasn't another kill the Mikaelsons plan in order that she would have to help stop.

"Well, it looks like there's a chance you might be dying very soon." The blonde bit her inner lip. "When I was in the caves with Elena, I noticed markings on the wall that basically say that there was a small white oak tree that grew about one hundred years after my family left here."

"Okay...?" The Salvatore girl felt like there was more to it, or else her friend wouldn't be so nervous.

"White oak can kill an original, again, as you know. Even Klaus, and if we don't find out what happened to that tree, we could die." Rebekah finally explained, letting out a frustrated sigh.

This wasn't good news, not at all.

"So what do we do?" Now, Gianina was the one pinching her temple. "It's not like we can just go on a scavenger hunt to find some gold."

"That's why I came here."

Gia managed to work her magic and get a meeting with Mayor Lockwood at the grill. For some odd reason, her and the woman always got along quite well, and she was willing to always hear the Salvatore girls ideas and thoughts. This especially came in handy during a time like this.

"Hello, Gia." The woman greeted with a smile as she sat across from the two girls. "Rebekah."

"Mayor Lockwood." Gianina bowed her head poliely. "Rebekah and I have a few questions for you, if you'll allow it."

"I'm listening." Carol waved her hand for them to start speaking, the blonde at the table taking it as her chance.

"Thank you for meeting with us Mayor. I figured as head of the preservation society, you'd be a good person to ask about the trees in this community." The Mikaelson girl explained, her head slightly tilted to the side, and shoulders perfectly straight.

There were some things you could never change as a vampire, in her case, it was how formal and polite she could be.

"A long line of Lockwood women used to keep those records back before any of them had actual jobs." Carol laughed, the irony of a Lockwood woman now being Mayor not going unnoticed by any of them.

"All the more reason you'd be the perfect person to ask." Gia confirmed with a smile.

"I've been to the founders archive, we both have, but I can't seem to find any record of the tree i'm looking for." Rebekah explained, both vampires trying not to spill the secrets that they were intending to keep.

"It probably got cut down, big old trees built half of this town in the 1900s." Carol took a sip of the coffee the girls had ordered them, Gianina sighing upon seeing her brothers walk in The Grill.

"If you'll excuse me, I have someone to talk to, you guys keep.. discussing this." If she was honest, the Salvatore girl didn't find any of this conversation interesting, especially since she hadn't talked to her brothers since well.. Bonnie's mom got turned because her, the Mikaelsons, and possibly Elena would have died otherwise.

"Brothers." The girl said as she made her way to the bar where they were sitting. "What are you doing here?"

"What are you doing with the She-Devil?" Damon asked, tilting his head to the side.

"If I remember correctly, a little birdie told me you slept with the She-Devil, Damon. Or did you forget something that happened a week ago? Getting old, I see." Gianina took a seat. "I came to apologize, I don't really like the idea of dying, and technically the other night, nobody died for real so it was a win-win."

"Except Bonnie's mom." Stefan commented, repeatedly tapping his hand against the bar as he took a sip of his bourbon.

"You're off blood." Gia scoffed. "At a time like this, you're not drinking anything? You should know better than that, Stef."

"That's what i've been saying, I knew you'd agree with me, sister." Damon wore a grin as he pat his sisters back, the girl rolling her eyes.

"I must be going insane for actually thinking you are smart for once." Gianina rolled her eyes, snatching the bottle the boys had in front of them as she took a swig.

"Thanks, guys but, I don't really need any advice from my older siblings. Your lives are a lot more messed up than mine." Stefan kept tapping his hand against the table, practically making his brother and sister go crazy.

"Hello, Salvatores." Rebekah spoke up from behind them, the trio turning to face her.

Gianina had the feeling that meant things were not going according to plan.

The Salvatore girl decided that staying while Rebekah and Damon flirted, and Stefan feened was not her cup of tea. However, before she left, Stefan and Damon started to detail what had happened to them when they showed up for Zachariah Salvatores funeral in 1912. Little did they know, she had shown up too.

Lurking in the shadows to capture a glimpse of her old home.

A younger Gianina wore a covering over her face as her family member was buried into the ground. She even let a tear fall, knowing that her family was destroyed long ago, and that the remainder of what was left was now breaking too. She turned around, dusting a tear off her cheek before she made her way towards the exit of the cemetery, hoping to leave before her brothers noticed.

"Leaving early?" A voice questioned as she held onto her dress, trying to keep the ends from being damaged in the mud.

"Yes, my heart can't take being there any longer." Gia bowed her head. "Enjoy the rest of the ceremony."

She began to walk away, but, the woman grabbed her arm, pulling her backwards again.

"You look like you could use a drink, if you know what I mean." The taller woman pointed to a man who was walking off, completely alone. "It'll be a quick meal."

"Oh—..no. I don't know what you mean." Gia furrowed her brows, pulling her arm back from the womans grip. "It was nice to meet you Ms..."

"Sage, my name is Sage." She responded with a light smile. "I hope you won't be leaving town right away."

"I'm afraid I leave in two days, it's an awful long trip to get back home." Gianina politely bowed her head as she kept walking off, confused to how anyone knew that she was in fact a vampire.

That was the first time she seen Sage that week, but, it wasn't the last.

Author's note:
Here is a new chapter! It's more of a filler because this episode was a lot about Alaric being a killer but I found a way to make a decent sized chapter.

I haven't asked in awhile, how do we feel about Gia lately?

Hope you enjoyed!
