Ananya nervously glanced at Daksh who was sitting right in front of the class. He had serious look on his face and was hurriedly copying down notes.

She ducked her head down and looked at her notebook. It was blank.She sighed and doodled on her notebook.She kept resisting the feeling that was developing inside her. She knew it too well that he wasn't the type of person for her. He had a calm and quiet persona. And by looking at the focused expression on his face, she knew that he must be an excellent academic too. 

She, on the other hand, was totally opposite to him. Broken, lacking self-confidence, and an average student. Her personality was not worth mentioning. She was an introvert,a shy person, unable to express what she wants. Except Shayantani, she had no other friends. She couldn't trust people that easily after what happened. It was a closed chapter for her now.

" What are you doing ,Ananya?"

Ananya jerked and raised her head up on hearing the teacher's voice.

Anu: Nothing Ma'am. Just writing.

Teacher: First listen, then write.

Ananya nodded as the lady continued to drone about on the subject.

Daksh's head shot up and he turned to look at her. Ananya nervously glanced at him. He gave her a weak smile and turned forward without even waiting for a reply.

'Huh, Rude!'

As Tapasya stormed into the canteen, she spotted Akriti standing with a bunch of girls and laughing. She tightened her fist and went up to her. Akriti noticed her and stiffened. Tapasya crossed her arms in front of her.

Taps: What's your damage, child of the corn?

Akriti: Tapasya, this is a public place. Can you not.....?

Tapasya: Are we gonna have a problem?

The whole canteen silently observed the fight. No one dared to stop Tapasya as they knew that it would be explosive.Shayantani and Sahil had just entered the canteen when they noticed that everyone in there was looking at a particular direction. they both looked at each other confusingly. Just then , Mitali and Ananya entered. They were both surprised to see Shayantani with Sahil.

Mitali(to Ananya): Who's that with Shayantani?

Ananya(to Mitali): That's Sahil. Princi's son.

Mitali widened her eyes.

Mitali: Wow, looks like Shayantani has made great friends.

Anu: Are no yaar. Shanu had a humongous crush on him, for like, I don't know, 11years.

Mitali(loudly):11 years!!!!

The whole canteen turned their attention towards her. Shayantani, Sahil, Tapasya as well as Akriti looked at her as though she had said something disastrous.

Mitali gulped and said in a hardly audible voice, " Oops, chilana nahi chahiye tha!"

Adi entered the canteen and silently observed the crowd looking at Mitali. He whispered,

Adi: Ab isne kya kar diya?

Tapasya: O Miss Newbie!  Maine tumhe meri chizo mein interfere karne se mana kiya tha na. And here you are again!

She took steps towards Mitali. Mitali stood there unbashed, planning her next verbal attack on Tapasya.

Taps: If you aren't still clear, let me clear it for you. I am Tapasya Dhanrajgir. You know what that means? That means I need no reasons. I simply......am.

Mitali: Well, well....

Taps: And don't dare answer me back or it may not take me a minute time to show you my real colors.

Mitali took out a tissue from her pocket and handed it to Tapasya.

Mitali: Here's a tissue, you have a little bullshit on your lip.

Tapasya fumed with anger. Adi sensed the tension developing and quickly came to Tapasya's rescue.

Adi: Look, when you said those mean things to me, I didn't reply. That doesn't mean you're gonna act like a smart ass in here, alright? This place has been our home for 5 years, you get that? You just joined. So don't try to be smart ass in here.

Mitali: I'd rather be smart ass than a dumb ass , like you.

Adi was baffled at her amazingness . Never had a girl ever talked or even think about talking like that to him or Tapasya. Everyone in the college was always at heir best behavior whenever they were around. They were always waiting to please them whenever they got a chance. But she was something different. She didn't care about being in the 'cool squad' or being popular.Her persona was captivating him every single minute.

Taps: HOW DARE YOU TALK TO MY BEST FRIEND LIKE THAT?!!

Mitali: What? I just said the damn truth. He doesn't get sarcasm. What kind of a person doesn't get sarcasm?

Tapasya widened her eyes at Adi, while he was busy looking at Mitali.She shook him by his shoulder and screamed, " Adi!!!"

Adi jerked and covered his ears.

Adi: Itni zor se kon chilata hai Tappu?

The whole canteen burst out in nervous laughter. Tapsaya was infuriated. She glared at Adi.

Taps: I TOLD YOU NEVER TO CALL ME THAT IN FRONT OF PEOPLE!!!!!!!!

Adi bit his lip in nervousness. Mitali giggled.

Tapasya( glaring at Mitali): You...bitch!

There was a piece of cake lying on the adjacent table. Tapasya angrily grabbed it and threw it on Mitali's face. The whole crowd shouted,"Whoa!!!".Ananya and Shanu cupped their mouths.

Mitali  quietly wiped her face while Tapasya smirked.

Mitali: What are you , 8?

Saying that , she picked up the ketchup bottle lying in front of her and spilled ketchup on her perfectly red Gucci top. Tapasya opened her mouth in shock.

Mitali: There you go. You like red , don't you?

Tapasya stomped her heels on the floor and spilled a glass of water on Mitali. Luckily, Mitali ducked at the right time and the water spilled on Daksh's clothes, who had just entered the canteen. Ananya suppressed her laugh. He glared at Tapasya and grabbed his bottle.He opened it's lid and threw the water on her. Adi sheilded her and it hit him, make him wet.

Adi: What the hell?

He picked up a pastry and threw it on him. Ananya got in the middle and pastry smeared on her face. Daksh looked at her with her with confused eyes.

"Why did she do that?", he thought.

The whole canteen decided to take part in hideous activity. They started throwing whatever they found at each other. Mitali chuckled seeing the chaos. A piece of cake came flying and hit Adi on his face. She went up to him and cleared a portion of the ruined pastry from his face and licked it.

Mitali: Umm... Tasty!

Adi looked at her unbelievably.

Mitali: What? The pastry is good.

Adi: Shut up.

Mitali burst out in fits of laughter.

On the other hand, Shanu tried to sheild herself but couldn't. She was already half wet with water. Someone grabbed her arm and pulled her close . It was Sahil.

Sahil: Come on, let's get under that table.

Shanu followed him silently. They hid under a table and tried best not to indulge in any other thing. Shanu looked at him awkwardly . He was still holding her arm.

Shanu: Sahil..

Sahil: Yeah?

Shanu: You can let go off my hand. I'm fine.

Sahil realised and let go off her arm. There was awkward silence between them. But even in that chaotic situation, she could hear the faint sound of his heartbeat. And, she realized that it was one of the most beautiful thing she had ever heard.....

"WHAT'S GOING ON?!!!!" , beamed a loud voice.

And the whole canteen grew silent...........
