Mitali struggled one last time to find the perfect dress for the event. All her clothes didn't quite say ' I'm ready to party!'. Oh well!

Just then , the bathroom door opened and stepped out Tapasya, wearing a shimmering red dress. Mitali's jaw dropped in awe.

Taps: Aise kya dekh rahi ho?

Mitali:(smilingly) Look, I'll try to be as subtle as possible but, Dude! If I were a guy, I'd totally date you!

Tapasya laughed.

Mitali: You look amazing!

Taps: Thanks! I wish I could say the same, but why the hell aren't you ready yet?

Mitali: Arrey yaar! Mai koi bhi western dress nahi layi hu. Saare traditional dresses hai. Ab mai lehenga cholli pehenke to cocktail party mein ja nahi sakti na!

Taps: To itna tension lene ki kya baat hai? Mere paas ek aur western dress hai. Tum voh pehen lo.

Mitali raised a brow.

Mitali: Tum mujhe apne kapre dena chahti ho?

Taps: Ha to?

Mitali: Wow, pata hai agar koi mujhse ek saal pehle yeh kehta ki St. Marcus ki queen B mujhe apne kapre pehnne degi, mai uss par has deti!

Tapasya made a face and said,

Taps: Tumhe cocktail party mein jana hai ya nahi?

Mitali: Ha ha jana hai, sorry!

Tapasya handed over the dress to her and she went to change. Just then, Tapasya noticed Mitali's phone vibrating.

Taps: Mitali, tumhara phone baj raha hai!

Mitali:(from the washroom) To utha lo! Kire nahi nikalte mere phone se!

Taps shook her head and picked up the call,

Taps: Hello?

Voice: MITU! MAI PICHLE KAB SE TUJHE PHONE KARNE KI KOSHISH KAR RAHI HU! KAHA HAI TU? AUR UPAR SE PATA NAHI ISS PHONE KO KYA HO GAYA HAI?! JAB DEKHO LOW BATTERY KE NAAM PE BANDH HO JATA HAI! TU SUN BHI RAHI HAI MAI KYA BOL RAHI HU?

Tapasya wasn't listening. She had put away the phone the minute the voice on the other end started screaming. She turned on the speaker mode and said,

Taps: Dekhiye aap jo bhi bol rahi hai, mai Mitali nahi hu. I'm......

Voice: Par yeh to meri Mitu ka phone hai. Iska matlab tumne meri Mitu ka phone chori kar liya?! 

Taps; Ji nahi, mai uski dost hu.....

Voice: Hey bhagwaan! Kya kalyug aa gaya hai?! Ab dost hi ek dusre ke phone chori karne lage hai!

Taps: Ji nahi aap galat samajh rahi hai......

Voice: Haww! Ulta chor kotval ko datein! Mai koi galat valat nahi samajh rahi hu! Tum jaiso ko mai ache se janti hu.......

Just then , Mitali got out of the washroom and heard the voice , shouting like anything. She immediately took the phone from Tapasya and said,

Mitali: Dadi! Aap aise chilla kyu rahi ho?

Taps: Dadi?!

Dadi: Mitu?! Tera phone to chori ho gaya tha na?

Mitali: Kya?! Nahi to.

She then looked at Tapasya and figured what might've happened. She quickly turned off the speaker mode and explained,

Mitali: Dadi, voh meri dost hai, Tapasya. Hum sab Sahil ke bhai ki shaadi mein aaye hai, maine bataya to tha aapko!

Dadi: Oh! Haye maine kitna kuch suna diya uss bechari ko! Yeh sab na teri galti hai! Aise to phone se chipki rehti hai! Mai tujhe kabse phone karne ki koshish kar rahi thi aur tu hai ki utha hi nahi rahi thi!

Mitali: Ha voh silent pe tha isiliye sunai nahi diya hoga. Anyways hua kya hai?

Dadi: Arey tujhe voh Saxena aur uska beta yaad hai?

Mitali: Saxena uncle ka beta.........uh.........Rishi.....Rishabh Saxena, right?

Dadi: Ha ha vohi! 

Mitali: If I remember clearly, mai jab tera  saal ki thi tab vohi Canada shift ho gaye the, right?

Dadi: Ha ha. Tiwari ji bata rahe the ki saxena aur uska beta kuch dino mein Dehradun aa rahe hai, kisi property ke matter ko lekar.

Mitali: Ha to?

Dadi: To mai soch rahi thi ki......

Mitali sensed by her tone where she was going with this,

Mitali: Dadi, meri iss rishte ke liye na hai.

Dadi: Arey par sun to!

Mitali: Dadi, maine aap se hazaar baar kaha hai. Mujhe abhi shaadi nahi karni. Mai abhi aur padhna chahti hu!

Dadi: Ha to maine kab kaha ki tujhe abhi shaadi karni hai! Abhi sirf engagement kar le na. Phir tu unhi ke sath Canada mein reh kar apni baaki ki studies complete kar lena. Kyu?

Mitali: Dadi, you're impossible. Mujhe abhi jana hai , mai aap se baad mein baat karungi, okay? Bye!

Saying that, she cut the call before her dadi could speak any further. She knew how annoying her Dadi could get when she discussed about her alliance.

She saw that Tapasya was already waiting for her at the door. She mouthed a sorry to her and came out. They knocked on Shanu and Ananya's room's door. Both of them came out in a second.

Mitali: So Shanu, you're all dressed up to meet your sasuma , I see!

Shanu: Chup kar Mitali! 

Anu: BTW, Mitali, you look really nice.

Mitali: All thanks to Queen B. She styled me today!

Shanu: Wow!

Anu: Chalo iss ab se ek baat to pata chali, ki Tapasya utni bhi buri nahi jitna hum sochte the.

Mitali: Exactly.(side hugging Tapasya) She's really cool.

Tapasya smiled and said,

Taps: Ab hum yahi khare khare ek dusre ko compliments dete rahenge ya niche bhi jana hai?

Anu: Par boys?

Taps: Ru ne thodi der pehle message kiya tha ki voh already niche chale gaye hai.

Mitali: Wow, inn logo ko party ki itni excitement hai ki yeh log humein chod ke chale gaye?

The girls laughed and headed towards the venue. 

The boys gulped their martinis and enjoyed themselves. They were busy chit chatting when they noticed four familiar faces entering the venue.

You can guess, I guess!

The girls made their way to the boys after a few pleasantries with the bride and groom.

Mitali noticed the half filled glasses in each of their hands and said,

Mitali: (to Adi) You know that kills brain cells , right? I suppose that's unlike in your case.....since you know.....you don't have any, but still...

But Adi was too busy admiring her. She looked so pretty. He smiled slightly and said,

Adi: I think God was high when he created you because there's no one else who comes so close to perfection.

Mitali's smirked lessened and she blushed a bit.

Mitali: Yeah, don't change the topic! And what the heck are you wearing? Aren't you supposed to wear a shirt inside?

Adi: It's style baby! And the ladies love it!

Mitali: God bless those ladies!

Adi made a poker face. 

Well, it wasn't just Adi. The rest of  the guys were equally smitten by their special ones. Well, especially Sahil.

Anu; So Sahil , are you gonna stand with your jaw open for the entire night or are you going to compliment Shanu?

Shanu looked at him nervously.

Sahil: How do you look so beautiful all the time?

Shanu's cheeks reddened. 

Shanu: You look nice too.

Sahil: Thanks.

Taps: Aww how cute! See Ru, you never compliment me like this!

Ruhaan: Isn't the way I look at you more than enough?

Tapasya blushed a bit . Ruhaan smiled and said,

Ruhaan: But seriously, you look absolutely stunning.

Taps: Thanks, and see, we are twinning too!

Ruhaan smiled and side hugged her.

Ananya smiled at them as Daksh looked at her , still in awe. He thought to himself,

'How could someone look so pretty?'

He wanted to compliment her so bad, but decided against it. He guessed it would be awkward.

Ananya; You look nice too, Daksh.

Did she just read his mind? 

Anyway, Daksh mouthed a small 'thanks'. Ananya smiled.

Just then, the gang spotted the bride and groom approaching them. Kavya ,in a blue gown and Jai in a blue suit.

Kavya: Hey guys! Gosh, you all look absolutely amazing!

Sahil: You both look amazing too!

Mitali: Kavya, we were thinking that maybe you could make your sasuma meet your , well, to-be-devrani! Am I right, Sahil?

Sahil coughed nervously while Shanu blushed profusely.

Kavya; Haha, I know! I wish I could, but aunty could not come to the party as she had to attend to some of the rituals for tomorrow. But don't worry, Shanu, you'll get to meet her tomorrow.

Shanu: Kavya di!

The rest laughed.

Kavya: Acha anyways guys, mujhe tum sab ko kisi se milwana hai. Come on.

Kavya led the gang towards the dance floor, where a couple was standing. They had their backs to them. Kavya tapped on the guy's shoulder and he turned. So did the girl.

And as they did that, except for Mitali and Daksh, everyone else's faces went pale.........
