3 Weeks Later

Little by little , hour by hour, the walls that they've hidden behind all their life, started breaking down.Working together made it seem like a group of misfits could easily become unlikely friends.

And then there was that one lazy Saturday afternoon. The college was closed due to some reason. But the committee was allowed to come to college to get the preparations done.

It was a warm day.They were busy preparing the different halls for the Meet. Only 2 weeks were left for the Meet. All of them were working their asses off when suddenly Mitali shouted,

Mitali: Let's take a break!

Taps: No, Mitali. We can't take a break.There are so many preparations left to be done. And we have very less time left.

Adi: Thori der break lenge to kuch nahi hoga. Vaise bhi bohot bhookh lagi hai mujhe.

Ruhaan: Tujhe bhookh kab nahi lagti?!

Sahil: Nahi yaar, I think Mitali's right . We've been working since morning. Thora break lenge to kuch nahi hoga.

Anu: Par Dean ko pata chal gaya to?

Mitali: To keh denge ki thori der break le rahe the. Ya koi strategy discuss kar rahe the. Chill na!

Adi:(Putting an arm around Sahil) Aur vaise bhi hamare pass added advantage ke tor pe Sahil to hai hi na! Voh apne Daddy ko sambhal lega , right?

Sahil: Yaar, tu mere baap ko janta nahi. Mere hone ya na hone se use koi fark nahi padhta . He'll still scold us.

Daksh: Yaar, itna daro mat. Kuch nahi hoga. Keh denge lunch break liya hai. Use to koi mana nahi kar sakta na?

Mitali: Right!

Saying that, they high-fived each other.

Taps: Par....

Adi: Tapasya please.

He made a puppy face.

Taps: Ab aise puppy face banaega, to mai mana kaise karungi?

Mitali: Yeh hui na baat ! Chalo abhi baithte hai.

They sat in a circular manner facing each other on the stage.

Shanu: Hey! What about a game of truth and dare?

Adi: Great idea!

They fished a bottle from one of the greenrooms behind. Ruhaan spun the bottle. It stopped at Sahil.

Mitali: Alright, Sahil. Truth or Dare?

Sahil: Truth.

Adi: Okay......Kya tune kabhi pyaar kiya hai? Aur agar ha, to kisse?

Shanu: Guys, please......

Sahil: No, Shanu. It's fine. I don't have a problem.

Ruhaan: Guys, koi problem hai share karne mein, then it's fine. You don't have to, Sahil.

Sahil: No, guys, seriously, it's fine. That's a closed chapter for me. I don't mind talking about it. So.....Adi , as for your question, Ha......I did love somebody. Her name was Roshni.

Mitali: Um.....who is Roshni?

Sahil: Roshni Mittal.

Sahil:(sigh) Roshni  meri first girlfriend thi. She was my next door neighbour. I loved her like insane. Voh mujhe mere har decision mein support karti thi. She was like my backbone. Usme aisa kuch nahi tha jo mujhe pasand nahi. I used to consider her as perfection itself. Har cheez mein best. Itna pyaar shayad hi zindagi mein kabhi kisi se nahi kiya tha maine.Aur shayad age kar bhi na pau.

Shanu frowned hearing his statement.

Sahil:  Voh mere liye sab kuch thi. Meri lifeline jaisi. But....

Mitali: Kya?

Sahil: Maine to uske sath  apni puri life tak spend karne ka soch rakha tha...........par I guess, kismat ko kuch aur hi manzur tha. (Taking a deep breath) Uss accident ne mujhse mera sab kuch cheen liya. Mera vajood, meri lifeline,.......meri Roshni.(Breaking down) I lost her.

 His eyes glistened but he somehow managed to stop those tears from arriving.

Shanu:(Trying to fight back tears) Guys, let's......

Mitali: As true as it is that I can't do anything to ease the pain or suffering you've been going through,but......I hope...that God gives you the strength and mind to cope with your loss.

Sahil:(Wiping the tears) Thanks, Mitali.

Adi: Yaar, tune to senti bana diya! Chal idhar aa!

Saying that, he pulled him in for a hug. Sahil smiled.

Ruhaan: Let's continue with the game. Shall we?

Taps: Yeah. I'll spin next.

She spun the bottle. This time it stopped on Adi.

Adi: He bhagwan!

Daksh: To Adi, Truth ya dare?

Adi: Dare. 

Taps: Tujhe dare karna hai?

Adi: Ha, kyu nahi?! Mai hu hi itna daring insaan.

Mitali: Thik hai, Daring insaan. Aapko dare hi karna hai na,to thik hai. Aapko dare hum dete hai.

" Mar gaya!", Adi thought.

Mitali: To aapka dare yeh hai ki .........apko guitar bajate huye gana gana hai........

Adi: Yeh to mere liye baye hath ka kam hai!

Ruhaan: Yaar, itna easy dare koi deta hai kya? Adi ko guitar bajana bohot pasand hai. Voh tu yu kar lega yeh!

Mitali: Ruhaan, meri baat abhi puri kaha huyi  hai? Maine kaha ki Adi ko guitar bajate huye gana gana hai......par ek tang par khare hokar!

Adi: Kya?!!

Mitali: Ji ha!

Ruhaan: Tu toh gaya, Adi!(laughing)

Adi:(mocking Ruhaan) Ha ha ha! Bari hasi aa rahi hai tujhe ! Tera turn aane de , tab batata hu tujhe!

Ruhaan: Ha ha thik hai! Ab guitar la!

Adi fished a guitar from the music hall. 

Ruhaan: Ek tang pe Adi!

Adi: Ha mere baap!

He lifted his right leg up and balanced himself. 

Adi: Konsa gana?

Mitali: Koi bhi. Jo tumhe pasand ho.

Adi: Uh.....Thik hai.

He started,

Tere dar pe aake tham gaye

Naina namaazi bann gaye

Ek dooje mein yun dhal ke

Aashiqana aayat ban gaye Main aur Tum

Mitali smiled. It was her favorite song.

Mine too!!

He continued,

Kaisi dil lagaai kar gaye

Rooh ki rubaai bann gaye

Khaali khaali dono thhe jo

Thoda sa dono bhar gaye Main aur Tum

He looked at Mitali. Their eyes met for a minute. And  they knew that they connected for that one long minute.

Chalo ji aaj saaf saaf kehta hoon

Itni si baat hai mujhe tumse pyar hai

Yunhi nahi main tumpe jaan deta hoon

Itni si baat hai mujhe tumse pyar hai

Tapasya looked at Ruhaan who was smilingly enjoying the song. She smiled at his innocence.

Chalo ji aaj saaf saaf kehta hoon

Itni si baat hai mujhe tumse pyar hai

Mujhe tumse pyaar hai..

Sahil and Shayantani looked at each other. They smiled at each other.

Mitali joined in.

Ek tum, ek main, teeja maangu kya khuda se

Dil doon, jaan doon, kya doon itna bata de

Tera mera rishta hai saanson se bhi naazuk

Tum sa, hum sa, koi duja na hoga na hua re

Do dil sa ik seene mein hai jaise Main aur Tum

Ab dono hum ik jeene mein hain jaise Main aur Tum

Adi and Mitali :

Jaan se zyada chaha tumko piya re

Harpal, hardum, humdum tumko jiya re

Adi:

Aaj saaf saaf kehta hoon

Itni si baat hai mujhe tumse pyar hai

Yunhi nahi main tumpe jaan deta hoon

Itni si baat hai mujhe tumse pyar hai

Daksh looked at Ananya who was busy lip-syncing the song. He smiled.

Adi:

Chalo ji aaj saaf saaf kehta hoon

Itni si baat hai mujhe tumse pyar hai

Adi and Mitali:

Mujhe tumse pyaar hai..

The rest of them cheered and clapped as the song ended. Adi put down his leg and yelled," Ah!"

Taps: Okay, spin the bottle.

Ruhaan spun the bottle. 

And it stopped on...............
