Shayantani glanced at her watch one last time. It seemed that the time was not passing at all. You know, this is a universal fact that if you keep checking the time, the hands of the clock never seemed to move. But when you don't, time passes by quick.

Okay, enough with the knowledge giving ceremony! Let's get back to the story.

Tired of waiting, she decided to call him. He picked up after two rings.

Shanu: Sahil, where are you ? I've been waiting for the last 15 mins for you outside Janet's. People are now doubting whether I'm actually here to meet someone, or just to kidnap some kid! Where the hell are you?

Sahil: Why don't you turn around?

Shanu: Now why the heck would I turn around?

Sahil: Just do what I say, Shayantani.

Shanu: But why?

Sahil: Uff....just turn around!

Shayantani turned around with reluctance and found Sahil standing behind her. She cut the call.

Shanu: Now if you were standing behind me, then why did you pick up my call? And even if you did, why didn't you tell me after picking up?

Sahil: Did you give me a chance?

Shanu: Huh?

Sahil(putting an arm around Shanu) You just kept on blabbering and blabbering. I didn't even  get a chance to tell you that I was standing right behind you.

Shayantani felt chills run down her spine.She couldn't have thought that a day would come when Sahil would put an arm around her.

You know the feeling!

All she could do was smile.

Sahil: So now..do you wanna go inside? Or are you really waiting to kidnap a kid?

Shayantani smacked his arm.

Sahil: No seriously let's go inside now.

They both started walking ahead when suddenly a thought crossed Shayantani's mind and she stopped on her tracks.

Sahil: What happened?

Shanu: You know what, let's eat outside.

Sahil: Yeah, there are tables outside.

Shanu: No, I meant not here. Let's go someplace else.

Sahil: Alright, which cafe do you wanna go to?

Shanu: Not a cafe.

Sahil: Okay, I'm having trouble understanding you now.

Shayantani extended her hand and said,

Shanu: Do you trust me?

Sahil looked at her and then at her hand. 

'Maybe it is worth a try.', he thought.

Sahil: Maybe.

Shayantani smiled as Sahil held her hand.

Shanu: Then just come with me.

Saying that, they both walked out of the cafe, hand in hand.

Adi gulped at the scene. He was sure that both Tapasya and Mitali were not willing to make peace at any cost. He had never felt so nervous. 

Mitali: Oh hi there! Tapasya, right?

Tapasya:(smirking) Yeah. What is yours?

Mitali: Mita.....

Adi: Mitani!

They both turned their attention towards Adi. Mitali arched an eyebrow.

Adi rushed near Tapasya.

Tapasya: Mitani? What kind of a name is that?

Mitali: It's not Mitani. It's Mitali.

Tapasya glared at a nervous Adi.

Taps: So you're Mitali....

Mitali: Yup. That's my name since 1998.

Taps: Anyways, I've been thinking a lot lately......and what you did for me the other was........ I just wanted to say thank you.

 Both Mitali and Adi looked surprised.

Taps: I appreciate your saving me. Thanks.

Mitali:(smilingly) I finally like you too.

Taps: You too?

Adi and Mitali exchanged glances.

Mitali: Just someone(glancing at Adi), I've recently met.

Adi returned her a broad smile.

Tapasya: I just hope we're on good terms now.

Mitali: We are.

Taps: Okay....see you again, hippie.

Saying that, she went back to her table. Once she was out of sight, Adi turned to Mitali.

Adi: So.....now that you and Tapasya are finally on good terms, I was thinking that maybe we could......

Mitali: Hold it, jumpy. She just said that we're on good terms. That doesn't mean that we are friends.

Adi: Why can't we be?

Mitali: We can be. But for that, you need to stop being so paranoid about what she would do if you even talk to me. She's your friend, not mother.

Adi: You clearly don't  know her. She can't be really scary at times.

Mitali: Well champ, that's your problem. Fix it yourself.

Saying that, she walked past him, while he looked at retreating figure for a while before returning to his table.

Tapasya and Ruhaan were chatting merrily. They seemed to have such a good time. Adi smiled seeing both of them.

Adi: Are bhai, kya baatein chal rahi hai ?

Taps: Voh sab chor, pehle yeh bata ki tune mujhse jhoot kyu bola?

Adi: Konsa jhoot?

Taps: Dekho toh bhole ko! Abe(smacking his arm), tune mujhe bataya kyu nahi ki vo hi Mitali hai?

Adi: Are ab chor na yaar! Tab kuch sujh nahi raha tha, isiliye uska naam le liya.

Taps: Matlab tune koi nayi girlfriend nahi banai?

Adi: Nahi.

Taps: Haww! Then why did you lie to me?

Adi: Tappu, tu chup karegi? Tujhe bhukh lagi thi na? To apna khana chaba aur mujhe bhi apna lemonade peene de!

Tapasya pouted and pretended to be angry.

Adi: Jaldi kha le varna mai bachpan ki tarah tera saara khana kha jaunga!

Tapasya: Nahi!

Both Ruhaan and Adi burst out laughing watching Tapasya gulp her food as quickly as she could.

Meanwhile, at Mitali's table,

Mitali: Okay, that's it!

Ananya jerked and looked up at Mitali.

Mitali: You have been fiddling with your food for the last 20 minutes. What the hell is wrong with you?

Anu: I just don't feel like eating.

Mitali: (sitting down) Ananya, if you feel bad then you can just go back to the room. The lectures are almost over. If you want , I'll ask someone to give you proxy.

Anu: That's not needed. I'm fine. I just don't feel like eating.

Mitali: Are you sure you're fine?

Anu: Yeah, I'm good.

Mitali: Alright,(sounding unconvinced) if you say so. BTW, do you know where Shanu is?

Anu: Nope. Infact, I haven't seen her since morning.

Mitali: The last time I saw her, she said she was going to meet Sahil.

Anu: Oh then she'll be fine.

Mitali: Huh?

Anu:  If she's with Sahil, then there's no problem.

Mitali: Why is that?

Anu: Come on, Mitali. Sahil is a very responsible guy. And Shanu, herself would be at her best behavior around him. So...No problem.

Mitali:(after a moment's thought) Hmmmm.

Anu: Let the love birds enjoy.

Mitali: Argh! Now you ruined it for me.

Ananya laughed. Mitali knew something was bothering her and she was hiding it. She felt her eyes speaking much more than she did.

Cause you know, Eyes never lie.....................
