Chapter 9 - Blaire's Crush
Christian's POV
They looked at each other and Adrian leaned in slowly. Blaire didn't make a move or she was way to drunk to make one. In a swift move, I grabbed her shoulders and turned her in such a manner, that she was tilted on my arms. I knew everyone was watching while Blaire was shocked. I leaned in and diminished the gap to the width of a hair. My lips brushed against hers. My hand moved to the back to her neck while our lips connected. It felt like I got my breathe back which was away from me all these while. Our lips embraced each other as the kiss deepened and there was nothing except us. My electrified nerves were pleased by the endorphin rush as her lips moulded perfectly against mine.
“Woah, okay,” someone said to interrupt and that's where it ended.
I felt free and there was a seeding of happiness growing inside my heart. For so long, I have yearned for that touch again.
“Guys, I need to leave 'cause I don't live here unlike you guys,” Isabella said.
“I also don't but I can always crash here at Christian's,” Duncan added.
“No you can't. There already not much space in here,” I gave him a convincing smile.
Duncan casted me a glare which screamed, ‘You have changed so much, OMFG’.
“I'll walk you,” Austin said directing to Isabella.
There was a couple of teasing screams which came to an end when Duncan said, “Alright, let's go then.”
He kissed Sophia for a while and the three of them left. Justin and Adrian was just a door away while Sophia just had to just climb downstairs. I shut the door and dragged myself to bed before I fell asleep.
Blaire groaned in frustration as sunlight poured in through the window and was right on her face. I got up from the bed and searched for the pill for hangovers. I dragged myself to the kitchen to fetch water while I heard her mutter something in irritation again. I walked over to her and smiled down at her frustrated face. I hunched over her and dragged the curtains. Her features relieved as the shadow embraced her.
“I hate.....the sun...,” she murmured in sleep.
“You're up already then,” I slipped my hand under her head to lift it up a little.
“Have this,” I said as put the pill into her mouth.
“Quick.” With that she gulped down the water and I stood up.
“Alright, you can go back to sleep again, sunshine,” I smiled down at her again.
There was two more days before college started. We were yet to have out first official day of college. I looked around the mess and fell on my bed again. It was almost noon when we woke up.
“What the hell happened here? It's a mess,” she literally shouted.
“You don't remember?” I arched an eyebrow.
“I don't care. You clean the room," she ordered around.
“I'm not doing it alone, no matter what,” I sat down with my terms and conditions.
“It was your idea,” she threw her arguments.
“You never protested,” I winked.
“Ugh...,” I could see steams flowing out of her nose and ears as she walked off to the washroom.
“You're intolerable," she said picking up the bottles.
“Uh! Nothing can be done I guess, I know I'm irresistible,” I grinned.
“I did not say that, Mr. Woods," she rolled her eyes.
“But I know it by the way you kissed me last night,” I threw my triumph card.
“Kiss? What Kiss? Which kiss?" She panicked.
“Shit. You don't remember?” I said with with round eyes and mouth hanging open.
“It was fascinating,” I described it in a word.
There was silence all over the room as we continued cleaning the room.
“But how?” she asked.
“Hm?” I replied in a questioning tone looking up at her.
“How did it happen?"
I stood two steps away from her and took advancing steps towards her.
“You wanna know how?” I whispered , my head bending down so that my lips grazed her skin even without touching her.
“We were sitting over there, legs crossed, and the bottle spinned," I pointed over to a place on the floor.
“Justin dared us, so I grabbed you by your shoulder, like this,” I said as I held her and repeated my actions from last night,“and angled you on my arms, like this,” I felt like giving a tutorial as I held her in my arms, “and,” I whispered leaning in.
“Okay, wait. Stop it. I got it”.
She scurried away and j laughed out. I turned and nearly met the ground as my foot stuck with a far diary. I picked it up from the floor and asked ,“What is this?”
Her eyes shot up and she panicked again, “Chris, give that to me, now”.
From the way she reacted I was not more convinced in not giving it back. I held it up in the air. She tried to reach it while I opened it, she yelled,“It's my personal diary”.
But I wasn't hearing anything then, 'cause the first page took my breathe away. It read, ‘I can't help but crushing on ADRIAN LAWRENCE’. I threw the diary on my bed and pushed her onto hers. Prancing like a lion, I hovered over her.
“Christian...,” her voice was low.
My fist curled up and my throat clenched as my caged her within my arms. I know I had no right to be angry with her at that moment but I was.
“What do you fing unique and intriguing in Adrian that isn't in me? Why can't you help falling for Adrian?” I asked not meeting her eyes.
“I...don't know,” the reply came after a while.
“Very well”.
“What are we, Blaire?” I asked as I started walking away from her.
“We...uh... roomates, um...friends,”
“Just it?” I asked as I walked back towards her again.
“You sure?” I asked again.
Out eyes were fixated on each other. I placed a hand on the side of her cheek and my fingers went deeper through her hairs. My palm caressed her warm skin as it automatically melted in my touch. I took my hand back abruptly and she looked down at the floor.
“There's something more to it, don't you think?" I left the room.
I walked down the stairs and found myself sitting in Washington Square Park with a cup of Starbucks in hand. After a while, my phone rang.
“Hey, what's today's plan? It's Friday night,” Sophia's voice blasted in my ears.
“I don't know. Wanna go around the city?” I asked.
“Sounds like a plan to me and get fake IDs in case, you know,” she trailed off.
“Leave that to me," I assured her and disconnected the call.
Newyork was nothing new to me. I had come here a few times before and I had got connections. I knew people, so, getting the IDs done wasn't a big deal. I just needed everyone's photo.
“We are going out,” I declared as I went in the room
“Is Adrian going?”
“Will you not go out if he doesn't tag along?” I asked as I closed the door behind me.
