I really enjoyed writing this chapter for you guys. There were a lot of things I wanted to add, but I save them for future chapter, so watch for those. Anyway, enjoy!!!!

Chapter 6

Chat Noir POV

I looked over at Marinette as she said this to me.

'C-c-chat, I-I'm s-sorry. I.....I....I hate you.'

Those words bounced around in my mind as I looked up and locked eyes with the figure standing in front of me. It was Marinette, and she was akumatized. I looked up in shock at the new girl in front of me. She wore a white suit with black and red dots scattered across it and a mask to match. She had a white yoyo that matched her suit that shot lasers. 'It had to be lazers'. She burdened herself with a secret and on top of that, didn't want me to come here and get hurt. She pushed herself to the limit and now she was the one suffering.

"Aww, this is a heartbreaking scene", I heard from the darkness of the room. "You came here to help her, but now, you'll have to fight her. Shouldn't you just back down now? I know you won't fight her, you don't want to hurt her Chat Noir", Hawkmoth said with a grin as he emerged from the shadows of the room alone, his assistant now Marinette who stood in the center with a blank stare.

"Marinette, you have to snap out of it! Please!", I yelled. But her reaction never came. She simply stood there and looked blankly at me.

"I'm sorry, but that's not her name anymore. Actually, it's Ladybug. Ironic huh?" He said with a snarl.

I thought for a second and then looked Hawkmoth dead in the eyes, my sudden determination returning to me.

"You think you know me, Hawkmoth, but you have no idea who I really am. You think I'm going to back down and give up when I have to fight someone I care about. You think I'm scared that I'm going to lose the fight. I'll tell you something. You don't know me. Because I will fight as long as I have to to get Marinette back. I don't care how long it takes, because I am fighting for the two people I care about the most."

I took a step forward and leaped into the air, extending my baton and getting ready to land next to Hawkmoth. I launched myself at him and started to fight with every ounce of energy I had. I couldn't give up on Marinette, not now, not ever. She needed me.

Out of the corner of my eye, I caught a glimpse of Marinette. She had a purple/ magenta butterfly shaped mask around her face, signalling that Hawkmoth was communicating with her. But she just stood there, clenching her fists. Hawkmoth caught me off guard and through me off of him and turned to Marinette. As I regained myself, I saw her. She was holding the sides of her head, trying to get Hawkmoth out of her mind. She was fighting him, and he didn't like it. He walked over to her, grabbed her by the collar of her suit and went to lift her up by his fist until my baton hit his hand and he flew back.

"Don't. You. Ever. Touch. Her. Again." I said standing up and catching my baton with one hand.

"Oh,"Hawkmoth said letting go. "And why not? Why do you care? Why won't you fight us? Why won't you fight her." He asked with a grin.

"Because I'm not a monster like you. I love her." I said as I took a step forward. Just then, Hawkmoth snapped and Marinette looked up. Her face went from fearful to blank once again and she looked at me before running at me with an attack. I had lost her again.

Marinette POV

I looked at Chat. I didn't want to hurt him. I let Hawkmoth get the better of me. Why didn't he leave when I told him to? Why did he insist on staying? Then Hawkmoth snapped his fingers and I lunged at Chat. I couldn't control my own body. I tried as hard as I could, but it was no use. I couldn't stop. Occasionally, I could hear Chat yelling to me, but usually Hawkmoth would block it from me. But the one thing that I did hear was the one thing I didn't expect.

'I love her'

I heard this and instantly hit the breaks, not thinking it would work, but it did. I stopped and fell to the floor. My body hurt everywhere and I was exhausted. Chat tried to walk over to me, but I instinctively put a hand up to stop him.

"Ch-chat, don't. I don't want to hurt you" I said as a tears slid down under the mask covering my face and down my cheek. Chat looked over at me with a worried expression.

"The only thing that's hurting me is you not trusting me to help you, Marinette. Have faith in me, please."

"You really think that will work, Chat Noir?" Hawkmoth questioned while squeezing his fists and in unison, Marinette grabbed her head again. She tried to fight it.

"Yes, I do think it will. It has to." Chat said with a smile.

I looked up at him and instantly knew what I wanted to do. Looking deep into his green eyes, it became a comfort, and pulling away with every ounce of strength I had left from Hawkmoths force, I ran over to Chat and fell into his arms.

"That's my girl."
