The Beginning
Hi lovelies! So I have recently become OBSESSED with Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Chat Noir. I know nobody calls it that (me being technical and all) but I know that a lot of you guys have seen it. It's such an amazing show and it has basically consumed my life. I have spent a lot of time reading fanfics that others have written, and wanted to try it for myself! This is my first fanfic and I hope you guys all enjoy it!
I do not own Miraculous or its characters.

I knew from the moment that I became Ladybug that I would have a challenge with balancing my life. Tikki always told me that she picked me for a reason; that I was strong and independent and that I could handle the job of being Ladybug as all the others before me had. Tikki had seen many Ladybugs come and go, but she always told me I was special. I would often doubt myself, but her argument was always the same. She picked me because I was special. She saw things in me that she didn't see in other people and knew I could do what was right for Paris.
The first time that I knew that the true Ladybug came out in me was the first time I saved Paris with Chat Noir. We battled a girl who had controlled the minds of every person she shot with her laser pen. Someone had made fun of her writing and Hawkmoth had taken her as his first victim. That day I was really nervous because it was my first battle with a partner I hadn't met before. The day I met Chat Noir was probably one of the best days of my life. Sure, now I know he's a flirt, but back when we first met, he was so sincere and trusting. Even now I can put all of my trust into Chat Noir because I know he will always come through for me. That's what I thought as Marinette too. Even as Marinette I had a great relationship with Chat Noir. He was kind and considerate and, again, was always a flirt, but deep down inside I knew he meant well. The day I put my trust in Chat Noir was the day I put my life in his hands and he put his life in mine.
Over the years, my relationship with Chat Noir has grown even stronger. We are always there for each other, even when not battling. We would often transform and meet on a roof somewhere above the city and chat about things that were on our minds into the night. Those days, things were simple. Days like those were welcomed, but one day all of those things changed.

Marinette POV
"Crap, I'm going to be late for school, again" I yelled to myself as I ran out of my bedroom and to my bathroom.I quickly brushed my teeth and hair and put it into my signature pigtails. I ran back across the hall to my room, throwing on pink capris, a white shirt with floral print, and a black jacket. I grabbed my bag and purse just as Tikki flew into it and ran down the stairs, almost falling down them in the process and almost running into my mother.
"Good Morning Hun!" My mother yelled to me as I got my shoes on.
"Good Morning Mom! I'm gonna be late! Gotta Go, Bye!" I yelled as I ran around getting things ready and almost running out the door.
"Make sure you eat something! See you after school. Love you!" She yelled back as she finished making breakfast.
"I will. Bye mom. I love you!" I yelled as I grabbed a croissant and my school bag and ran out the door.
As I ran down the sidewalk, I tried to run as fast as I could without tripping over my own feet. It's hard to believe that I'm Ladybug, with me being as clumsy as I am. Sometimes it is hard being Ladybug and balancing my life. Chat Noir never says that balancing his life is difficult. He says if anything, being Chat Noir has made it easier. That must be nice. I usually look down on myself when I compare Marinette to Ladybug and wonder how they can even be the same person. Sometimes I think I'm not cut out to be Ladybug, and that's why I have Tikki. Whenever I feel like that, she always finds a way to turn it around.
*Flashback*
"Ugh, being Ladybug sure does take some work. Maybe I'm not cut out for this Tikki" I said to my kwami as I threw myself onto my bed. Tikki just looked over at me and smiled.
"Marinette, I couldn't think of anyone else being Ladybug. I've seen other Ladybugs come and go, but you stick out to me. You're unique and strong and you never give up when things get tough. You stand your ground and fight for what you believe in. If that doesn't qualify you to be Ladybug, I don't know what does."
"Thanks Tikki. I just feel like it's so hard to balance my normal life with my superhero life" I said with a sigh as I looked up at my ceiling.
"You'll find a way around it Marinette. You always solve problems as Ladybug, and you are here with or without the mask. You'll figure something out" Tikki said to me.
"Yeah, I'm sure we will" I said smiling back at Tikki as I hugged her in my hands.
*End Flashback*
Tikki was always very supportive of me. She was my best friend with the mask on and off and I couldn't have asked for a better kwami.
As I turned the corner, I ran straight into someone. When I looked up to see who it was, I didn't recognize the person. In fact, I froze in my tracks. In front of me was an akumitized girl with a wicked smile on her face. She looked down at me grinned at the fear in my eyes. She raised her hand up and prepared to fire a fireball right at me. I sat on the ground in shock and tried to get up and run. That didn't get me very far until I was backed against a wall.
I wasn't Ladybug. I couldn't transform, so I was ready to face what was going to happen. But it never came. Instead of pain, I felt nothing. I simply felt like a girl standing against a wall. I opened my eyes and looked up, seeing a familiar black cat in front of me, blocking each attack with a familiar silver baton.
"Well, well, well. Are we going to make it a habit of picking on civilians now Firefly?" Chat said with a small grin.
"Shut it cat. You know what I want." She hissed.
"Well, then bug me for it. Leave Marinette out of it." He said as he extended his arm out and covered me. Soon, he quickly spun around and grabbed me around the waist, pulling me close to him and carried me bridal style away from the scene.
After we were far enough away. Chat set me down and looked back at me.
"Be more careful next time. I would hate to see you get hurt." He said with a genuinely concerned, yet warm smile on his face.
"T-thank you Chat." I said to him. I really took what he did to heart. This is exactly what I loved about him (as my partner and friend of course). He always put people first and cared about them.
"No need to thank me. I'll see you around Purr-rincess." He said with a playful smile and ran back towards the akuma.
"And there he goes again with the puns, Tikki," I looked at her and shook my head, "What am I gonna do with him?"
"Um, help him?" She suggested.
"Yeah, you're right."
"TIKKI, SPOT'S ON!!!!"

Hope you all enjoyed! See you next time lovelies!
Bye!
