I'm sorry this chapter is really short. I was busy but wanted to get a chapter posted so enjoy!! I know it's not much but.. yeah!

Chapter 7

Marinette POV

"That's my girl."

Those words rang in my ears as I fell into Chat's arms, my head spinning and my heart racing. I was so scared. I didn't know what was going to happen next. A cold sweat came down upon my entire body and I shivered with fear. The warmth of Chat was comforting as he held me close to him, protecting me as he stroked my hair. The warm touch of his hand on my head and the sound of his beating heart against my ear was like a welcomed friend. I cried into his chest, letting out all of the built up emotions that I was feeling.

"I.....I.....I I'm so sorry Chat" I cried as he held me.

"Don't worry princess, everything is fine. You'll be fine" He said reassuringly. His voice was calm and gentle and made me forget about where we were. All I cared about was that moment. A moment of peace. A happy thing. But like all happy things, they have to come to an end, and ours did way too quickly.

Sitting with Chat, I felt him move slightly to face towards Hawkmoth. We were laying on the ground; Chat on his knees, and me laying in his lap, my arms wrapped around his neck. My sobbing had slightly subsided to the point that I could hear Chat talking to Hawkmoth now.

"You'll pay for hurting Marinette, I swear" Chat said with anger and determination. I smiled slightly and let my body rest against his until Chat went to move. I felt his body shift slightly, the warmth still present, but now another element was upon me, the element of pain. Chat had moved slightly and a pulse of the pure sensation of pain fell over my entire body, starting from my shoulder and spreading until every inch of my body was covered. The pain seeped into every muscle and bone and made my heart beat faster in shock. In unison, I could hear Chat's heart beat pick up too. I slowly and painfully moved to touch my shoulder with my shaking hand. After doing so, all I saw was red. A warm sensation fell between my fingers as I felt the blood seeping from my shoulder onto my white suit, now staining it red. I looked up at Chat and saw the horror in his eyes as he held onto me, my vision beginning to blur.

"Oh, guess I should release her akuma then" Hawkmoth said to Chat with a laugh and a sly grin as he extracted the akuma from me, grabbing the knife he stabbed me with as it flew back to his hand like a boomerang. The pain instantly grew ten times worse without the akuma magic and I flinched in pain. Chat's grip on me only grew tighter, his eyes now filling with angry tears.

"I will tear you to pieces" Chat said gritting his teeth, his claws glistening in the dim light. He then looked down at me. My vision blurred.

"Hold on Marinette. You'll be okay. Stay with me Princess...Mari...... Marinette!?!?!"

That fade to black was the most peaceful experience..........
