Arnav looked at his Amma's sad face and sighed. He took the poori and started eating it.

Khushi and Devduth smiled seeing them.

Devduth : Maya , see the difference between our children. If it was Kukku, she would throw tantrums.

Arnav smiled and said : I can't deny Amma, Papa.

Devduth : I know beta. As I always say we are really lucky to have you as our son.

Khushi : Me too...

Arnav looked at them with a warm smile and got up to go.

Maya : Don't eat canteen food. I will send the lunch.

Arnav : Ok Amma, saying this he kissed her forehead and hugged his Papa.

Devduth : Good Luck Beta. Do well, he said patting Arnav's shoulder.

Maya : Have this beta. Today you are signing a new deal na. She fed curd with sugar to both her children.

Arnav : I like to be old-school. You are there na to compensate. If you don't come now, we will miss the deal, saying this Arnav caught hold of Khushi's hand and walked out of the house bidding bye to Maya and Devduth.

ASR and his PA walked inside the office after the meeting with the client. All the employees wished them. They both walked towards Arnav's cabin.

Arnav's Cabin

As soon as they reach the cabin Khushi leaped forward and hugged him. He smiled as he crushed her against him and buried his face in her silky hair.

They stood like that for sometime before Khushi slowly pulled away and smiled at him.

Khushi : I am so happy, Arnav. We nailed it.

Arnav : Yes baby. Now we need to work hard. I am sure we will reach top 5 in a couple of years.

Khushi : AR is in top 5, baby. So you need not worry about it.

Arnav : I know. But AR belongs to some Khushi Singhania. Big shot hai. I don't think I can compete with her charm and beauty.

Khushi hit his shoulder playfully.

Khushi : She is yours. So there is no competition.

Arnav yanked her towards him, caressed her cheeks with his thumb and dropped a kiss on her forehead.

Arnav : Only mine, he hugged her.

Khushi : Only yours.

He tightly hugged her towards him, silently enjoying the bliss of being with his Khushi. His Lifeline.

After sometime...

Arnav (coming out of the hug) : Back to professional life, sweet heart. Can I get my coffee? Miss Khushi?,

Khushi : Yes Sir... She smiled and walked out of his cabin. Khushi walked towards the pantry. On the way her phone vibrated.

Khushi : Hey Meera darling!!! Where are you? Did you reach?

Meera : Khush darlu!!! Breath... Yes, I reached just now.

Khushi : Did you like your house?

Meera : It's so beautiful, Khush. Thank you so much. Haan I called you to inform you that I am joining our office today.

Khushi : Are you sure? You can take rest and join tomorrow.

Meera : No yaar.. I am gonna join today.. At least just an introduction. I am getting bored here. And I am thrilled to see those hyenas and roast them.

Khushi laughed hearing it.

Khushi : Do you remember our college incident? How we roasted that yo yo guy.

Meera : Yes yaar. I miss those days. Anyway, I am here. We can roast and fry those vile people and more... I am missing our pranks... We can play pranks on your Arnav too... What you say?

Khushi : No way darlu... My baby is very innocent, you know. She giggled. I know someone else whom we can play pranks. Khushi said smirking.

Meera : Then done... We are gonna blast yaar. By the way when are we meeting?

Khushi : Come to Oceans yaar. Then you can join AR. I would have come to receive you, but I told you about the deal na.

Meera : Not an issue darlu. There are no formalities between us no. I know you and you know me. That's enough. I will come to Oceans by noon. Is it ok?

Khushi : Perfect dude. See you then. Bye

Khushi jumped from her place hearing the voice just behind her. She turned and saw Arnav standing there with his hands on his pockets.

Khushi : Are you planning to kill me, Arnav? I would have got a heart attack. She said dramatically.

Arnav chuckled.

Arnav : I was waiting for you. You have gone to get my coffee na. Then why are you standing here?

Khushi : I will tell you. You go back to your cabin. I will come with your coffee in a while.

Arnav : By the way who were you talking with, over the phone?

Khushi : It's a secret. I want to share a big secret with you.

Arnav raised his eyebrows and looked at her keenly.

Khushi : No need to look at me like that. I will tell you. It's nothing related to us. So no need to worry.

Arnav : When you say " Secret" that means "Trouble" baby, he murmured.

Khushi : Hawww!!! When did my secrets troubled you? Anyway, this is not a trouble.

Arnav chuckled and said : Ok baba..Come soon... I will be waiting for you in our cabin . We need to discuss about the contract too.

Khushi nodded her head and walked towards the pantry.

After sometime Khushi came with the coffee and sat in front of him.

Khushi : I want to share something important with you.

Arnav : Go on..

Khushi : From today a new acting CEO is taking charge in AR.

Arnav : Who is that?

Khushi : She is a very close friend of mine.

Arnav : Ok.. Close friend means? And who is that?

Khushi : Don't be shocked...

Arnav : You are scaring me, Khushi.

Arnav saw this and walked towards her chair and sat beside her. He took her hands in his.

And you know that Shyam right? He is such a cunning Jackal. You will not know how he will plan his moves. I can't allow you near danger. I can't baby.

Khushi cupped his face : Trust me. I will be careful. Meera hai na. And you are there for me as my protector. If I leave them, I won't be in peace. They should suffer for all the tears you shed. Especially that Anjali. She was faking her love for years. She betrayed you, Arnav. So please don't stop me. She gritted her teeth. If I get a chance I will kill her, she fumed.

Arnav suddenly hugged her to calm her down.

Arnav : Baby calm down, he said patting her head.

Khushi : Will you stand with Meera and me?

Aman jerked and looked back to get the biggest shock of his life.

Khushi : Guys.. Past is Past. Meera is my bestie. Here we are colleagues. So I want Aman not to disturb my friend when she works with us. And Meera be cordial with Aman as he is my Arnav's best friend.

Aman stood mute.. He looked at Meera longingly. His eyes welled up with unshed tears.

Arnav : Welcome Meera.

Meera : Nice to meet you ASR.

Arnav : Come on let's go and have our lunch. Aman come. He dragged his friend out of his cabin to enjoy his Amma's handmade lunch and to plan the moves to bring back his best friend's love life on track.
