Karson: Yep, ha-ha. Gets naman. Ay, hala! If you think I'm disappointed or anything, I'm not, ha-ha. Inuman lang naman 'to, e, saka need ka ni Natnat d'yan.

Nowi: Still, I'm sorry I can't be there.

Karson: Hala, siya. . . you don't have to apologize for not being here. Hindi ko naman ine-expect na — [tumikhim] — you're at my every beck and call.

Nowi: But what if I want to be there for you all the time?

Karson: As if papayag ako. [laughs]

Nowi: Fair point.

Karson: Anyway, you said Natnat's asleep? Sayang naman, 'di ko siya nakausap.

Nowi: She wanted to talk to you nga, e, ha-ha. I told her no because my dads are very specific with her body clock. If she sleeps late kasi, she might end up adjusting her sleep. It might affect her on Monday when she has school.

Karson: School? Anong grade na nga ulit si Natnat?

Nowi: She's turning 7 pa lang so she's currently in Grade 1. My dads are trying to limit her screentime and she's still learning how to type so yeah. . . if you want to talk to her, I can give her the phone next time she's awake.

Karson: Sure, sure. Hmm. May gusto ka bang pag-usapan kaya mo gustong tumawag or. . . inaatake ka lang ng FOMO mo?

Nowi: [chuckles] I don't have FOMO kaya. Where did you get that?

Karson: Kanino pa ba? S'yempre kay Warren. [tumawa] Pero hindi nga. . . sabi niya sa 'kin, you're probably moping because they're here and you're not.

Nowi: I wasn't moping naman, ha-ha. I just didn't get to talk to them kanina because I was teaching my sister math. I wasn't making tampo if that's what Warren is insinuating.

Karson: Sus. Obvious namang may FOMO ka, ha-ha. It's not always a bad thing. Ang cute nga, e. Nagiging negative lang naman 'yon 'pag 'di ka na nakakapagpahinga.

Nowi: Fine, fine. Oh. Are you tipsy ba?

Karson: Sakto lang, I guess? 'Di naman kasi hard ininom ko. I'm drinking beer right now so kung tunog tipsy ako. . . baka ayon.

Nowi: No, ha-ha. You called me cute kasi. You do that a lot when you're tipsy.

Karson: Imbento.

Nowi: [laughs] By the way, I was going to post a birthday greeting on Jai's wall kanina but I noticed you didn't?

Karson: Yes, ha-ha. Ewan ko nga pero sabi ni Jai, 'wag daw kami mag-post. No'ng tinanong ko siya kung bakit, sabi lang niya, para raw confusing kung ano na edad niya.

Nowi: Oh. . . it's his request pala. Buti na lang, I asked you first.

Karson: Oh, my God. [rustling noises] Sorry, wait lang.

Nowi: What? What's happening?

Karson: [rustling noises again] Sorry, ha-ha. Kumatok kasi si Mon kanina. May pinapa-settle lang sa Uno. [laughs] May iniimbento raw na rule si Warren kasi natambakan ng 32 cards.

Nowi: Oh. . . okay.

Karson: Ano ba naman 'yang FOMO mo? [natawa] Para kang ewan.

Nowi: Sorry but I can't help it. [sighs] Oh, I have something to ask nga pala.

Karson: Ano?

Nowi: Uh, I heard about what Je did. . . or said.

Karson: Hmm? Sinabi pa rin pala sa 'yo ni Warren. Sabi ko sa kanya, 'wag nang sabihin sa 'yo, e.

Nowi: No, it's actually Je himself who told me. [pauses] You know he doesn't really think that, right? That you're just stringing me along?

Karson: He already explained, saka gets ko naman na hypothetically speaking lang 'yon.

Nowi: I'm glad you worked it out but still, I'm really sorry. I'm sure it wasn't his intention naman to hurt you but he still did so. . . [sighs] I'm really sorry, Miss Chua.

Karson: Hala, ha-ha. Okay naman na pero dahil kilala kita — [tumawa] — and I know you'll keep saying sorry, apology accepted.

Nowi: [chuckles softly] You know me too well na nga.

Karson: Uhm. . . alam kong baka pagsisihan kong tinanong ko 'to, but how about you? Do you feel like I'm stringing you along?

Nowi: No.

Karson: Bilis ng sagot, a?

Nowi: There's nothing to think about naman kasi. I like spending time with you so of course, I'm going to make time for you. Whether you feel the same or not won't make a difference. I'm just trying to act on my feelings, e.

Karson: Hay. [bumuntonghininga] I know I come across as flirty. Kahit madalas na nakikipag-usap lang ako kasi interested ako sa topic, lagi akong napagkakamalan na humaharot. [natawa] Aware naman ako do'n so kung sobra na, sabihan mo lang ako.

Nowi: But what if I want you to flirt more with me? Do I have to file a request? Or should I just ask politely?

Karson: Nowi, isa. [bumuga ng hangin] Ayan ka na naman, e.

Nowi: [laughs] I'm only asking a question? What did I do now?

Karson: Nagpapa-cute ka. [groans] You always do this. May sasabihin kang ano, tapos kapag napansin ko, ida-downplay mo as innocent question or comment.

Nowi: Oh, no. [chuckles] You figured me out.

Karson: Ewan sa 'yo.

Nowi: But hey. . . just so you know, you shouldn't feel guilty about this. Like I said kanina, this is just me acting on my feelings. Please try not to feel guilty about my decision because well, I'm an adult. [chuckles] I make my own decisions and I've decided to trust you.

Karson: Saan? You're trusting me to what?

Nowi: That whether your feelings reach the same intensity as mine or not, you'll be honest with me. You're that kind of person, e.

Karson: Hindi naman ako gano'n kabait.

Nowi: [laughs] You are kaya. If you weren't, what happened in Lucban wouldn't have happened, right? [chuckles] Oh, sorry. We promised not to talk about it muna pala. [clears throat] Uh. . . I think I'm going to sleep na?

Karson: [sighs] It's fine. 'Di mo naman sinasadya, e, and look, please don't tiptoe around me. Continue acting on your feelings. Wala naman akong karapatan pigilan ka kaya. . . ayon, don't tiptoe around me. You can be honest with me, regardless do'n sa deal nating pause muna tayo regarding Lucban.

Nowi: [sighs] Okay, you got it.

Karson: [tumikhim] Sabi mo, matutulog ka na? Baka bumalik na rin ako do'n. Kanina pa nila ako kinakatok, e. [tumawa] 'Wag daw ako madaya.

Nowi: Hmm. . . okay, goodnight, then. Dream of me, yeah?

Karson: [inhales sharply] Nowi naman, e.

Nowi: What? [laughs] I'm just being honest like you said.

Karson: [groans] Goodnight na. Bye.

Nowi: Bye, Miss Chua. [chuckles]
