Take Twenty-Six
A DAY before the final night, we had to get dressed up by the hair and styling team for the photoshoot. We all had to wear different sets of clothes depending on the photographer's orders. I was glad they didn't make me wear those girly floral dresses when we took the photoshoot in the greenhouse. They really knew me well already. And when we reached the pool area, I had to insist that I wear just a shirt and shorts and not bikini.
The director ordered us to act like a real couple during the photoshoot. It wasn't really hard to do since Jasper and I were both comfortable with each other. But I didn't know what had gotten into me because I became awkward looking at him since that time he confessed. "Jasper, you really looked like you're in love with her, but Chastity your eyes seemed out of place. Can't you look at Jasper directly in the eyes?" A staff commented, which made me groan in annoyance.
"Chas, forget what I told you that night and just look at me naturally, will you? Let's get this thing over with," Jasper told me, almost whispering.
And so I tried to look at him again, the way I used to. It seemed like it worked perfectly since the photographer kept on taking photos non-stop, while ordering us to take different poses.
"That's a wrap for ChasPer!" And finally we were done. Forget the fact that they used our ship name again.
After the photoshoot, I walked around the villa. I passed by the kitchen counter, going to the backyard pool area. I suddenly remembered that first night I got to meet Tristan and how he pushed me off the pool. From there, I met Mino who saved me from near-death. And then I remembered what Mino told me before he left. "You should thank HIM as well. He was the one who called me to save you." If he meant Tristan, then all the more reason to slap myself for being so stupid.
I heaved a sigh. I couldn't believe this would be my last day here in the villa. It felt like I've only been here for days. So many things happened in just that span of time. I could say I became more mature when it came to a lot of things. I became more sensible and vulnerable. Before, I was always acting tough because I didn't want people to think I was weak and pathetic. Only Jasper and Sab knew the real side of me.
When I came here, I learned how to deal with all sorts of people. I didn't care about them at first. I thought of them as strangers, whom I'd be leaving once the show was done. But now, I cared for most (if not all) of them. I wondered how they were doing when they got out of the villa. And now, I wondered how my life would be once I'm out of here.
"Hey Chas!" Someone called out to me, interrupting my thoughts. When I turned around, I saw Jasper approaching me. "Sight-seeing?"
"Kind of." I said, shrugging.
"Or reminiscing?" He asked again, smirking.
I just smiled at him, as we continued to walk at the side of the villa. "Were you following me?"
"Kind of." He said, mimicking me.
I frowned at him. "Stalker!"
"That's my job!" He answered, chuckling. "So, this is our last day, huh? Time sure flies so fast. I don't even remember anymore what my life is outside of here."
I paused at what he said. I felt that way too, somehow. It was like we got used to living inside the villa, that we forgot how our lives were back home... back to the real world.
"You think we'd be famous after this?" He suddenly asked.
"I'm sure you will be. You'd have a legion of girls following you around and you'd have no time for me," I teased.
"Aye! Stop being jealous with my fangirls. You'll always be number one here." He said, pointing at the part of his heart.
I crinkled my nose at him, causing him to pinch it. "I just hope so."
"You're the one to talk! Tristan would be all over you, taking you away from me." He pouted, childishly.
I paused. "That's not gonna happen."
He placed his arm on my shoulder. "Hey, I thought we've talked about this already. Follow your heart, right?"
"What am I supposed to do? Go over him and confess? Am I the guy here?"
He nodded. "Yeap. You are the guy."
"Jasper, I'm being serious."
"And I'm being serious when I say just talk to him and tell whatever you wanna say. If it doesn't work out, then you're mine again." He finished with a grin.
I punched him on the chest. "Just go find a real girl, Jasper."
"But you are a real girl to me."
"I meant..." I paused, sighing. "...just be sure to find a real relationship once we're out of here. No more flirting."
"What's wrong with flirting?"
"Flirting is a no-no, Jasper Lee!"
"Fine, fine. I'll try to. But I'll still wait for you though. At least you won't be bothered being a single woman your entire lifetime. I'm assuring you you'll have me." He said, winking.

LATER that night, we all gathered in the pool area just staring up the night sky. Sab and Jiro were both cuddled up in a blanket. Patrick was holding his guitar, strumming some chord just to create a soft music for us, while Nicole was trying to sing her own lyrics based on the music. I was busy counting the stars, ignoring the weight of Jasper's head on my lap.
"Who do you think will be 'The Perfect Match'?" Sab asked, breaking the stillness among us.
"You two." I quickly answered, looking at Sab and Jiro.
"Agree." Nicole said, smiling.
Jasper raised his hand up. "I think we'll win Chas."
I knocked his forehead with my knuckles. "Not happening."
"What? I just think we will."
"No, but seriously I think you have a chance, ChasPer!" Nicole butted in.
"I told ya." Jasper said, pointing at me.
"Anyway, I hope we'll get in touch after this." Patrick said, stopping his strumming.
"Of course we will." Sab said delightedly. "Let's have a reunion party after this."
"Seriously guys?" I turned to them with an arched brow.
"That'll be fun." Jiro commented.
"Let's just enjoy our last day here regardless of what might happen tomorrow, okay?" Jasper said and we all nodded.

FINAL night came. I didn't know why I was anxious all of a sudden. As Mira and Ciara did my hair and make-up, I was fidgeting on my seat. I wasn't anxious about the results, I was anxious about the fact that once we get out of here, I have to face that guy whom I just hurt already. I wasn't ready for that. I have no words to make him feel better after rejecting him.
"Hey Chas, you'll be alright," Mira said, comforting me.
I just nodded at her.
"I hope you and Jasper wins," Ciara muttered beside her.
"Thank you." I told them, standing up and giving them a hug.
I was glad they let me wear flats again instead of the killer heels. I was also loving the black dress they had me on. My hair was tied up into a ponytail with a few strands hanging loosely on the side of my face. After taking one last look at myself in the mirror, I proceeded downstairs and saw my partner, Jasper already waiting with a tux on, the blue tie complemented well with his fair skin. "Gorgeous!" He commented, looking at me from head to toe.
I flashed her a thin smile. "This is it!"
He nodded, taking my hand and leading me the way outside where a red carpet was prepared and a stage on the side. The other two couples were already there standing and waiting for us. Then, the staff shouted, "Cameras rolling... in 3...2...1..."
Victoria, who was standing up the stage greeted the live audience enthusiastically. My heart was beating fast every minute. I could feel my palms sweating against Jasper's. He turned to me. "Scared?"
"Just a little."
"This thing will be over soon. Let's make the best out of it."
I nodded at him.
After a few minutes, the director called 'CUT!' again. The stylists moved towards us to fix our make-ups. After that, they ordered us to move up the stage with Victoria. Then, the live show was up again. "Okay ladies and lords! The time has finally come. Who among these 3 lovely couples will get the title of being 'The Perfect Match'?" She paused, turning to us. "But before that, let's ask how are they feeling tonight first?"
She moved towards Patrick and Nicole since they're the closest couple to her. "So Patrick, do you think you and Nicole will win tonight?"
"Uh... it's hard to tell, but no matter what happens, we'll accept it," Patrick answered.
The MC moved towards us this time. "How about our trending couple, ChasPer?"
"I already feel like a winner just being with Chastity right now. That's more than enough for me," Jasper ended, giving me a smile. I just smiled back. He sure knew how to speak well in public.
"Aww! That's sweet." Victoria chirped. "Ah, how about our real couple Sab and Jiro? Do you think you'll be 'The Perfect Match'?"
"Like what Jasper said, I also feel like a winner already just meeting Sab here in this show and I plan to take care of her for as long as I live," Jiro answered casually, kissing Sab on the cheek.
After another round of commercial break, the results would be finally revealed. There was this drum roll effect before Victoria started to speak. "Okay since a lot of people outside are already rooting for the three couples, I'm glad to announce to everyone that a movie deal is being arranged already with you 6 as the lead stars."
Okay, that was unexpected. I wasn't really into acting. Are they really serious about that now? I turned my attention back to her when she started naming the sponsors of the show and the prizes of the winning couple. It was getting on my nerves already. Why couldn't they just announce the winner?
"Okay, is everyone ready to hear the results of the judges' and people's votes?" The MC said, opening the envelope in her hands. "Here it goes..." Again, there was the drum roll sound effect. "Our winning couple, garnering a total of 51.4% of the total votes... the perfect match..."
I was gripping Jasper's hand so tight at that time. I didn't think it was this nerve-wrecking. Sweat was dripping on the side of my face already.
"The Perfect Match... Congratulations..." Victoria paused again, creating more tension among us. "...Sab and Jiro!"
