Take Fifteen

I was floating. My whole body was. I felt like there was only me and the guy who owned those lips sealed on mine. Maybe I wasn't in the right state of mind at the moment... because if I was, I could've pushed him away already. But no. I let him kissed me and I actually liked it. Wait... he was still kissing me? His lips were moving but I just stayed still. Oh crap! Wake up, Chastity!

The moment I heard the door swinging open, that was the only time he stopped kissing me. I was out of breath. I was out of my mind. But I was grateful that someone came in.

"Chastity!" I heard Jasper's voice, while grabbing my un-cuffed hand. "What do you think you're doing?" He asked, aiming at Tristan.

"You just interrupted us. Don't you think I should be asking you that question?" The devil countered back.

I saw Jasper biting his lip and balling his hand in a fist. "How dare you kiss her?" He was fuming in anger while moving closer to Tristan. The next thing I knew he already threw a punch on his face.

"Jasper!" I exclaimed. I wanted to run to his side, but my hand was preventing me to move. I looked at Tristan who was rubbing his jaw.

"What is going on here???" A male staff suddenly yelled from the door. When he realized what was happening, he called for the staff who held the key to our handcuffs. After being released, Jasper and Tristan were both called to the staff's room, while I proceeded outside to gather my senses back.

I was sitting by the edge of the pool, ignoring the heat from the sun. It was high noon, but that didn't matter to me now. I wanted to scream to let out everything inside me, but I couldn't. No matter what I did, I couldn't seem to forget what happened. His lips still lingered on mine, which was annoying me by the minute. I shook my head in frustration. How did I end up in this situation?

"Chastity? Is that you?" I heard someone speaking from behind.

I turned on my back and saw Patrick approaching me. I faked a smile, as he sat beside me. "Patrick."

"Are you okay?" He asked worriedly. "Were you crying?"

I shook my head. "I just... I missed my mom."

He nodded. "I feel the same way."

"I want to get out of here, Patrick. I don't think I can stay any longer."

"Why? What happened?" He asked.

I half-smiled. "I originally didn't want to be here, remember?"

"You still think this show is crap?"

I nodded. "It's getting worse."

"Or maybe you're just scared."

I snapped my head at him. "Scared? Of what? I'm not scared of anything."

"Scared of loving someone... and of being loved."

"Why are you saying this to me Patrick?"

"I just think that you are. You already like Tristan, right?"

I didn't answer.

Patrick flashed a smile. "I know you do. He's lucky that you chose him. But it's not just about choosing. Sometimes, it just happens, Chastity. Even if you don't want to."

"So you've felt this thing before?"

He nodded.

I smiled at him.

"Come here." He said, motioning me to come closer to him which I did. He hugged me in comfort.

"Thank you, Patrick."

"I owe you for comforting me before." He said, tapping my back.

After that, I proceeded back inside the villa. I saw Sab sitting by the couch in the living room with the other girls. When she saw me, she stood up and came towards me. "Chas, are you alright?"

I nodded at her.

"I heard about what happened."

"Yeah." I answered in a low voice.

"Jasper and Tristan are still inside the staff's room. I wonder how much scolding they did to them." She said.

I sighed. "I'm going inside our room."

"Chastity..." She called me again, then pulled me in a hug. "You don't have to pretend that everything's alright. I'm still here, remember?"

I nodded at her. "Thanks, Sab."

BY ALL means, I tried to avoid Tristan inside the villa. I ignored the people talking behind my back. It was fine with me if they hated me. That way, I wouldn't stay longer here. I couldn't wait to be eliminated and get away from him. I have to stop whatever I was feeling inside me because it wasn't doing any good. I have been lacking sleep for days now that I feel like I was going to collapse any time soon.

I was glad that I got paired up with someone else during the next pairing. Hardin wasn't that hard to talk to. He was a charmer. I found out that he was a year younger than me which made me an older sister to him. He told me that he wanted me as a sister which I didn't mind at all. I also wanted to have a younger brother so I was glad he was cool about it.

We were in a bowling center at that time. He was teaching me how to strike the pins, but I wasn't paying attention that much. I couldn't concentrate on anything because I could see Tristan looking at me from where he was seated. I tried to avert my gaze back to Hardin who noticed my absent-mindedness. "Are you alright?" He asked me. "You want to take a seat first?"

I nodded.

He smiled, as he escorted me to the vacant couch. "Just watch me play then." He said with a smirk.

I smiled back at him. "Go Hardin!" I cheered for him. He just hit another strike. He was good at the game. I raised a thumbs-up at him as he continued to play.

"Chas!" Someone suddenly sat beside me and I knew it was Jasper. "I'm sorry."

I turned to him. "For what?"

"For... I don't know. I just... want to say sorry. I should've been more protective of you." He said, avoiding my gaze.

I shook my head. "You don't have to do that, Jasper. That's why I keep on depending on you... because you always spoil me."

"But I promise your dad to protect you." He stated, now looking at me in the eyes.

He was right. I was there when dad told him to look after me and mom. That was why we became closer than ever. I didn't think I would've survived all the things that happened to me without him. He was my guardian.

"I know Jasper." I said to him.

"So... do you... really like that guy now?" He suddenly asked me.

"W-what???" I asked, surprised.

Jasper heaved a sigh. "Tristan."

"N-no. No. I don't." I answered instantly. I know that I don't like him, but why does my chest feel heavy everytime I say it?

He nodded. "Alright." He patted my head, then proceeded back to his partner.

AFTER SPENDING two days with Hardin, I felt comfortable already around him with his friend inside the villa, Bobby. They were both younger than me by a year which made my heart at ease. I suddenly found it easy to share my thoughts to them.

When Friday came, I got paired up with Jiro, the one Sab has admitted to have a liking on. Our activity for the day was some kind of a cooking show. We had to cook a dessert and whoever impressed the judges (aka the staff) would win a dinner date.

"I don't know how to cook." I confessed to Jiro who was scratching the back of his head, suggesting that he probably didn't know either.

Then, he flashed me a smile. "We'll handle this." He said confidently.

"Uh... okay. What are we gonna cook?" I asked him.

He paused, thinking. "How about... chocolate cupcakes?"

"You know how to bake?"

He shook his head. "No. But we can always follow what's inside the cookbook, right?"

After that cooking competition, you already guessed that we didn't win. It was chocolate so I still ate what we made, but apparently, the other couples did better. Jasper and his partner, Hannah won that competition. But anyway, I did learn why Sab probably liked Jiro. He was a nice guy... the kind who would give everything and anything to a girl even if he knew he couldn't. He was also very sensible like a mother would. He knew how to take care of someone. Those were the points I got after spending two days with him. I smiled at the thought of him ending up with my bestfriend. I became their number one supporter.

THE DAY of the voting and elimination came again. It was tough for me to choose who I want to stay inside the villa because after that week, I became close to the people whom I've never spoken to during the first week so you could say that I grew more affectionate to most of them already. Only one guy and one girl would be eliminated starting this week and I was still hoping that I would be that girl.

As I stepped out of the fourth room, I saw Skye standing outside the room, as if she was waiting for me. I was about to enter our room, but then she called out my name. "Chastity!"

I turned to her with a confused look. "Yeah?"

She made her way towards me, until she's only a feet away from me. "Stay away from Tristan. I'm telling you this for your own sake."

I wasn't surprised to what she said. Of course she'd say that because her sister was his ex-girlfriend. It was natural for her to advise any girl to get away from her sister's boyfriend.

I nodded. "You don't have to worry a thing, Skye."

She crossed her arms over her chest. "That's good. He doesn't even like you, believe me. I just don't want you to get hurt in the end."

"Not if I hurt him first." I answered back, fighting the urge to punch the wall or anything hard. I didn't know why anger was suddenly rising up my system.

She smirked. "I know now why he suddenly took interest of you. You pretty much act like my sister."

Suddenly, I felt like I got struck by a lightning. Why was I affected so much by what she said? So what if I act like her sister? Why was I feeling mad all of a sudden? Ugh. My head hurt in frustration.

"SKYE!" Someone yelled from the hallway.

We both turned to the side and saw Tristan coming his way. "Uh... T-tristan... I was just..." Skye stutteringly said.

"Stop saying non-sense to her." He said, then he turned to me. "You! We need to talk." And at that, he grabbed my hand and dragged me downstairs, heading out to the backyard.

"You have to stop doing that, you devil!" I yelled at him, shoving his hand away.

"What did she say to you?" He asked me with that cold look in his eyes.

"Nothing. And why does it concern you?"

"I'm concerned because what she told you was a lie."

I smirked. "Really? Lie or not, I don't care. Just please stay away from me from now on, Tristan. I couldn't even stand seeing you or being near you anymore." I sighed. I could feel that he was taken aback by what I just said.

Then, he flashed a thin smile. "How ironic! Cause in my case, I couldn't stand being away from you anymore, Chastity!"
