Chapter 1.𝓔𝓶𝓲𝓵𝔂 𝔀𝓪𝓴𝓮 𝓾𝓹

One day  I was sitting on the sofa, lost in my thoughts, daydreaming, when something terrible interrupted me. As I turned, I saw my mom, her face filled with tears, crying. Concerned, I quickly stood up and approached her, asking, "Mom, are you okay?"

Through her sobs, she managed to say, "Your father..." Her voice trailed off, and my heart started to race. I had no idea what could have happened to my father. Desperate for answers, I pleaded, "What happened to Dad?"

"He was hiding something from us," Mom confessed, her voice trembling. My mind filled with worry and confusion. "What is it? Just tell me," I urged, my voice shaky. Taking a deep breath, Mom continued, "Your dad borrowed money from the Yu family. They are wealthy, you know. They're threatening to evict us from our home, taking away our belongings and jewelry." My heart sank at the thought of losing everything we had. "What?" I exclaimed, unable to believe what I was hearing. The news hit me like a ton of bricks. "We need to pay them back, or they'll kick us out?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper. With a heavy sigh, Mom confessed, "Our debt is $300,000. We can't repay such a large amount in just one day, even if we work day and night." The weight of the situation crashed down on me, and I felt a sense of helplessness.

She told me to go to my room and get some sleep since it was already night. Reluctantly, I made my way to my bedroom, but sleep seemed impossible. Overwhelmed with emotions, I couldn't hold back my tears. "Why should we lose everything?" I whispered to myself, feeling a deep sense of injustice and despair. The weight of our financial burden hung heavily in the air, keeping me awake and consumed by worries.

Unable to sleep, I woke up without any recollection of dreams. As I descended the stairs, I found my mom waiting for me, her expression weighted with sadness. Confused, I asked, "What's going on?" "Pack your belongings, sweetheart. We have to leave our current house before they evict us. We must get out before that happens," my mom replied, her voice filled with a mix of resignation and urgency. It was hard to process the fact that we were about to return to our old life, leaving behind the comforts we had grown accustomed to. Nodding in disbelief, I responded, "Okay, I will." Making my way to my room, I hastily began packing my things. I didn't bother putting away my jewelry, opting to keep a cherished piece gifted by my late grandmother. It held both sentimental and emotional value that I couldn't bear to part with.

Once I finished packing, I made my way back downstairs to join my mom. To my surprise, there was a taxi waiting outside. Perplexed, I attempted to voice my confusion about why we weren't using our own cars, but my voice emerged barely above a whisper. It seemed as if nobody could hear me amidst the chaotic atmosphere.

Reluctantly, we climbed into the waiting taxi. The journey took an hour, and when we finally arrived at our old house, a wave of disappointment washed over me. It was in a dilapidated state, a far cry from the comfortable home we had left behind.

"This is it," my mom murmured, her voice heavy with sadness. Unsure of what to expect, I hesitantly asked, "Are we really going to live here?"

"Let's go inside and see," my mom suggested, trying to sound optimistic despite the evident despair in her eyes. As we approached the front door, I couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. Opening the door, it creaked loudly, as if protesting the neglect it had endured over the years. The air inside was musty, filled with a haunting silence that echoed through the empty rooms. Looking around, my heart sank further. The walls were peeling, the floorboards creaking underfoot. It was clear that this house held memories of another time, but they were not the joyous ones I had hoped for.

It takes us approximately an hour to make our thing on the premises and clean the house. Finally, as darkness fell, I made my way to my room. With excitement bubbling inside me, I leapt onto my plush bed with a feeling of pure bliss.

That night, after I fell asleep, I began to dream about my stunning, opulent, old room. It was truly a sight to behold. I found myself standing on the floor, completely in awe as I gazed upon its splendor. Emotion surged through me, filling my heart with both joy and admiration.

I woke up early in the morning and got out of my room. To my surprise, my mom was already there with a delicious, ready-made breakfast. "Good morning," I said with a smile. "Good morning, Emily," replied my mom, returning the smile. "Did you sleep well?" I asked, genuinely concerned about her rest. "Yes," she replied reassuringly. Feeling grateful for her support, I continued, "Don't worry, Mom. Today, I'm going to meet my friend Maria. She works at Mu's company, and maybe I can find a job there." A mix of hope and determination filled the room as my mom responded, "That's a good plan, Emily. I believe in you." Her words of encouragement warmed my heart, giving me the confidence to tackle the day ahead. After finishing my breakfast, I headed back to my room to change into fresh clothes.

As I prepared to leave, I said a heartfelt goodbye to my mom before heading out to catch the bus. As I settled into my seat, I took out my phone and dialed my friend Maria's number. After a few minutes, she finally answered, and hearing her voice filled me with nostalgia. "Hi, old friend," Maria greeted me warmly through the phone. A rush of excitement mixed with relief washed over me as I replied, "Hi, Maria! Do you remember me, your old friend?" A jovial laughter echoed on the other end of the line as Maria replied, "Of course, Emily! How could I forget my funny old friend?" Hearing her familiar laughter and the fondness in her voice made me feel instantly at ease. It was as if no time had passed since we last spoke. With renewed enthusiasm, I felt even more determined to meet with her at Mu's company, knowing that her presence would only add to the excitement of this new adventure. "Can we meet today? I mean, I'm already out. Can I come to you?" I eagerly asked Maria, hoping for a positive response.

"Okay, let's meet at Mu's company. I'm already working here," Maria replied, her voice filled with excitement. "Great, I'll come right away," I said, grateful for the opportunity to see her. "See you soon, bye!" Maria said, and we ended the call. Moments later, the bus came to a stop near Mu's company.

I hurriedly disembarked and swiftly made my way inside. Finding a seat on the front sofa, I anxiously waited for Maria. However, just as I settled down, my phone's battery died. Panic washed over me as I realized I wouldn't be able to contact Maria or use my phone for any other purpose. Feeling desperate, I approached a man with a handsome face, dressed in a suit. "Excuse me, may I borrow your power bank?" I asked, hopeful for a solution to my problem. "We don't use power banks," another person chimed in dismissively, not interested in helping me. Their indifference stung, and I was taken aback. "Did he think I was interested in him?" I muttered frustratedly, my disappointment evident. Turning my attention away, I noticed Maria approaching. She looked stunning in her outfit, and I admired her style.

I quickly shrank my hand, hoping she wouldn't notice my predicament. As she neared, I greeted her with a warm hug. "Hi, Emily," Maria said, her voice full of warmth and familiarity. "Hi, Maria. By the way, you look amazing," I complimented her, truly appreciating her sense of fashion.

"Thank you," she replied with a smile, and we both took a seat on the sofa.

"I was about to tell you something," I started, feeling a mix of nerves and vulnerability. Maria leaned in, encouraging me to continue.

"Tell me, I'm listening," she said, her eyes filled with genuine concern.

"My dad borrowed some money from Yu family, but he never paid it back. As a result, we lost our house, car, everything. Now, we're living in our old house," I confessed, the weight of the situation heavy on my heart. Maria's expression turned melancholy upon hearing the news.

"Oh, Emily, when did this happen?" she asked, her voice filled with empathy.

"It happened just a day ago," I replied sadly. "I didn't contact you because I wanted to focus on comforting my mom." Interrupting my thoughts, Maria suddenly spoke up, her eyes gleaming with determination.

"I have a plan," she said, her voice filled with hope. Curious and eager for a solution, I asked, "What is it?" "THERE'S AN INTERVIEW TOMORROW. WHY DON'T YOU REGISTER TODAY AND COME FOR THE INTERVIEW TOMORROW?" Maria suggested, her suggestion catching me off guard. It amazed me how she seemed to know my thoughts even before I voiced them. "Okay, I'll do as you say," I agreed, feeling a renewed sense of hope. "Then ask for the interview registration at the front table," Maria instructed. "I will, just like you said," I replied gratefully, knowing I could rely on her guidance. Maria stood up from the sofa, and I followed suit. "Bye, see you soon," I said, filled with gratitude for her support. "Goodbye, take care," Maria said with a reassuring smile before heading back to work. With newfound determination, I approached the front table, ready to register for the interview, and hopeful for a brighter future.

After registering for the interview, I returned home in the dark. I had a brief chat with my mom before heading off to bed. Excitement coursed through me as I woke up early the next morning for the interview. I carefully picked out my best outfit and stepped outside my room. To my surprise, breakfast was already prepared. "Good morning," I greeted my mom, who looked curious. Sensing her thoughts, I quickly clarified, "I'm going for an interview. "Relieved, my mom smiled and I ate a few bites before bidding her farewell. I boarded the bus and found a seat, the anticipation growing with every passing minute. Soon, the bus came to a stop near Mu's company. I disembarked and made my way to the entrance, standing outside the door. Steeling myself with a deep breath, I wished myself good luck before stepping inside. Navigating my way through the company, I arrived at the interview room. Surprisingly, I was early. The room had ten seats, with one still vacant. I chose to sit near the empty seat, eagerly awaiting the start of the interview. After a moment, a stunning girl and a handsome boy entered the room.

The girl took the front seat on the left, while the boy sat in the front seat on the right. The middle seat remained unoccupied. Just as I was taking in their presence, the door opened once again. To my surprise, it was him - the guy who had ignored me earlier. Confusion mingled with frustration as I watched him take the seat in the middle. Yordanos, the one who had entered before, introduced herself and the others. "My name is Yordanos, and he is Mu Liam, the CEO of Mu company. The other one is Mu James Manger of Mu company" she informed us.  Oh no, he is Mu Liam, the CEO of Mu company.

My heart skipped a beat as I realized the significance of his presence in the room. The same person who had ignored me earlier was now going to be a part of my interview process. I tried to push my frustration aside and focus on the task at hand. As the interview began, each candidate was called forward to showcase their skills and experience. Despite my earlier encounter with Mu Liam, I was determined to do my best and impress the interviewers. When it was finally my turn, I took a deep breath and confidently walked to the front of the room. I discussed my qualifications, experiences, and how I believed they aligned with the company's goals and values. Mu Liam observed me with a watchful gaze, and I made sure to maintain eye contact and speak clearly and convincingly. After the interview concluded, I thanked the panel for their time and made my way out of the room. Thoughts raced through my mind about the encounter with Mu Liam and how it might affect my chances of securing the job. However, I reminded myself to stay positive and hope for the best.

Days turned into weeks, and I anxiously awaited the outcome of the interview. As I continued my job search and tried to remain optimistic, I couldn't help but wonder if my encounter with Mu Liam had made a lasting impression on him. Finally, the call came. It was Maria who reached out with the news. "Emily! You got the job!" she exclaimed excitedly. Relief washed over me as I realized that my efforts had paid off. I was going to be a part of Mu company, working under the same roof as Mu Liam. Filled with a mix of excitement and nerves, I prepared myself for this new chapter in my life.
