Hands Off (Monsta X)
"Let it go."
That's what he had been told after getting into a fight at the local club in town. After he had whirled on someone who had the audacity to cut into his date night, but they thought it was a good idea to put their hands upon him. Kihyun had gone off within seconds of the incident, like a lit firework exploding in the club. He had jumped the guy, yelling and screaming obscenities and scolding the man about putting their hands on someone without their consent. If it wasn't for the fact that they were in a public business, he would have continued and beaten some more sense into the guy. The sleaze had it coming for him and anything else that may have been waiting for him in the future.
He wasn't sure when it had happened, but Kihyun had been lifted off the ground by Wonho --his date-- and carried away from the scene. He was set down shortly after when his date was certain that they were far enough away from the man, the two heading directly for the door. Kihyun stomping his way towards the exit with Wonho close on his tail.
The door to the club burst open as Kihyun stormed outside, huffing all the way without any signs of stopping. People had been moving out of the way, staying a good distance from the angry hamster moving through the area. Wonho wasn't too far behind him, following with a look of amusement trying to manifest upon his face. Kihyun's steps would have become more of a stomp if he stepped any harder upon the pavement, certain it would crack under the force he was letting down.
"Why did I get in trouble? I was only defending myself from that guy and his overly curious hands!"
They had barely rounded the corner when Kihyun began ranting about what had happened. It was no surprise that the smaller male had finally exploded from the incident, anyone would have once they were free from the confines of the club.
Kihyun stopped, whipping around and turning quickly on Wonho, forcing the older male to stop in his tracks as well. There was a burning fury raging within his eyes forcing anyone to see just out upset and angry Kihyun really was over the situation.
"I understand where you're coming from, but you probably would have killed the guy if I, or someone else, hadn't stepped in."
A soft, nervous chuckle escaped from Wonho as he shook his head at the very thought. It was highly unlikely that Kihyun would have killed the man, he was far too nice to do so. Though, he was almost certain that he would have come close to it if given the chance.
"Stop laughing, I wouldn't have killed him. Might have given him a few bruises and knocked him down a few pegs, but I wouldn't have killed him. Plus, he shouldn't have grabbed me like that!"
"No, he should have. Come on, lets go. . . "
Wonho's thoughts paused, the man being struck with realization like a ton of bricks, they had no other plans for the evening. They had planned to eat out and then head to the club, from there, he didn't know. The sudden curiosity and confusion that had came across Kihyun's face told him that the smaller male had noticed the sudden lengthy pause within his sentence.
"Is. . . everything alright?"
The confusion had slipped into Kihyun's words, drawing them out and mingling with a new emotion at some point. Wonho could have swore it sounded like worry, something he hadn't wanted to elicit from the younger male.
The longer that Wonho remained silent, the further Kihyun furrowed his brow. If he kept doing so, he was almost certain he would end up with a permanently furrowed brow with deep frown lines upon his forehead. That very image was trying to force a shiver down the smaller male's spine, but Kihyun was attempting to hold back that very reaction. He wouldn't look good with those frown lines deep within his forehead. Wonho shook his head, Kihyun's frown becoming more prominent as he done so, making the older male regret the action almost as soon as he had done so.
"No, it's not alright?"
The question was out before Wonho could get a word in edgewise.
"No, no, nothing is wrong. Everything is fine, I just realized we had no other plans aside from dinner and the club."
The emotions that were quickly flying across Kihyun's face must have been amusing to Wonho, seeing as he was attempting not to laugh. They rushed onto his face only to just as quickly be replaced by another emotion. It was as if he didn't know how to react to the statement, like it was something strange and foreign to him.
As amusement finally settled upon his features, Kihyun watched as Wonho breathed a sudden sigh of relief. He wasn't aware of just how worried the male had become with all the emotions he had been feeling just to find the right one.
"That's what had you thinking so hard? You looked so pensive just now, I thought something was terribly wrong."
A laugh bubbled out of Kihyun causing the older male to blush softly, a sheepish smile tugging at his lips.
"Was it really all that funny?"
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to laugh. You looked so serious out of the blue, I didn't know what happened."
Kihyun continued to laugh, but it was slowly starting to taper off into gentle chuckles. He waved his hand in front of him, shaking his head as if denying what Wonho had said moments before.
"Really, I'm sorry. I don't know what came over me or why I found it so funny."
Once Kihyun managed to calm himself down and apologize twice, Wonho could only stand there awkwardly. He wasn't sure what to say, so silence felt like the best option at this point. The very silence reverberating around them making the moment that much more awkward, Kihyun's heavy heaves as his laughter subsided the only sound that now swirled around them.
"Okay, I'm calm now."
A small smile crossed Wonho's lips, one that held a curiousness within it and mingled with a slight tease. Kihyun had his own curious look upon his face, one that he aimed directly towards his date for that evening.
"What?"
"So, what do we do now?"
The wariness that had rushed into Kihyun's question had vanished in an instant, his tense posture relaxing, surprised he had been so tense in the first place. He slowly walked over, stopping at Wonho's side and turning to face the same direction as him. His hand slipped into the older males, fingers lacing together while his gaze shifted upwards to meet with Wonho's.
"Let's go home, we can order pizza and put in a movie. Forget the chaos that happened at the club?"
"That sounds good to me, but do you really want to eat more after just having dinner not to long ago?"
A chuckle slipped from Kihyun as he raised his shoulders in a shrug.
"Come on, lets go back to my place, we can figure it out once there."
Wonho's fingers curled around Kihyun's hand, taking hold of it. He couldn't argue with what was suggested, it sounding far better than having to search for something to do on the town so late into the evening. The two began walking down the sidewalk, Kihyun resting his head upon Wonho's shoulder as they did so. The night may have had a rocky beginning, but it was definitely starting to look up with a peaceful ending.
