Finale (Monsta X)

It was dark, the rain was coming down like a rushing waterfall on the world it crashed down upon. Lightning lit up the darkened world, revealing the secrets that his within its shadows. Hidden in the shadows of a house, one male sat within his home at the top of the stairs. From his perch on the second floor, he watched the front door like a hawk as if someone would break it down any second. His body was rigid, poised ready to move at a seconds notice. His hand was clenched around a crumpled piece of parchment. A demon-like glare rested in the male's eyes as his calm yet rigid body was poised and waiting for something to happen.

Sitting beside him, an unsheathed katana rested, waiting to be used, ready to taste the blood of the victims it managed to get a taste of. Ready to protect its master from anything that threatened to do him harm.

That demon-like glare drifted from the door down to the parchment that rested in the male's hand. He knew full well what was written upon that very sheet of parchment as he had been the one to write those very words upon it. The words that may very well be his final thoughts that night.

My name is Lee Jooheon, and this may be my last and final words before I face what could be my end. This is what I have been working towards for the past couple of years and someone has to know the truth. What really happened so the people can watch out for the men who are still free, the men who ruined my life. The men. . .I was unable to bring to justice.

Three years ago, my father was murdered and framed for a crime that he did not commit. My family was torn apart in a swift stroke of horrible fate. My younger brother was sold into slavery, myself. . .I was sentenced for execution. If it weren't for the events that took place shortly after sentencing, I wouldn't have gotten as far as I have today. The one person who had managed to invade my heart, Minhyuk, had managed to help me escape all those years prior. Risking their own life to protect me. . .to keep me alive. Because of them, I was able to keep hidden, left the country and took up a new identity. I faked my own death, it was the perfect cover to obtain my revenge and clear my father's name.

Fast forward to three years later, to the present, I returned to Korea. A ghost risen from the grave. No one suspected my return, making it that much more easier for me to do as I needed. The only thing I had to be careful of were my friends, father's old comrades and the man I loved. I couldn't let them see me.

It took me a little while to hunt down my younger brother, Changkyun, after my return. Yes, my only crime would be shooting the man that owned my younger brother, but I wasn't going to stand back and let that man continue to use and beat Changkyun. If I only knew that that very incident would be my downfall, I would have prepared better. One of my enemies had caught wind of the incident and out two and two together. They hunted me down, used Minhyuk to draw me out.

I couldn't let this continue.

Slowly I began bringing my enemies to ruin, though it was difficult, it led to the final showdown. I sent Minhyuk and Changkyun away, far away from the chaos that was about to break out in front of my home. I don't expect to survive the night, though I'd be lucky if I somehow did. So, I'm leaving everything I own to Changkyun and Minhyuk. This letter, I leave to whomever finds it. If someone should happen to find it, please take it directly to our king. All information will be stored in a secret compartment in my room. Minhyuk should know where it is by the time this is found.

"LEE JOOHEON!"

The call of his name, barely audible over the roaring thunder and pounding rain, caused Jooheon to lift his gaze from the parchment to the door. A slow steady breath slipped from between his parted lips as he slid the parchment into the breast pocket of his shirt. He stood up slowly, grasping the handle of the sword beside him and descended from the stairs. There was no hesitation in his steps, only a calm determination in his every step.

Jooheon pushed open the door, stepping out into the storm that raged outside. Instantly, he became soaked by the rain that assaulted him as he stepped out into the open. He attempted to blink the droplets that rested upon his lashes away, but with the rain only adding more, it was nearly impossible.

As the lightning flashed, it lit up the front lawn revealing the row of men aiming their rifles directly at him. It was like facing a firing squad without the military of police force there.

"Couldn't come alone, could you!? What a coward!"

It seemed to have hit a nerve in the man leading the illegal fire squad, it was apparent by the way he dropped his gaze. Jooheon found it rather amusing really. As the man looked back up at Jooheon, he could see the fury and rage in his eyes. The man looked like a wild animal ready to strike its prey.

"How dare you! Lee Jooheon, prepare yourself for this will be your final night on this earth!"

"Is that so? Then come at me!"

Sword raised and ready to strike, Jooheon let out a roaring battlecry as he ran towards his awaiting opponent. The man echoing his battlecry, rushed towards Jooheon as the rifles exploded behind him. Bullets flew through the air towards one target, the night itself becoming filled with the cries of men and bloodshed as the deciding fight raged on within the storm.
