Dreams Do Come True (Monsta X)

Kihyun stood behind a screen, hidden from the publics view. He could hear the chatter on the other side as people filed into the building. It was like listening to a million buzzing bees gathering in one room, overpowering everything around them. The very noise made him both anxious and nervous, but a subtle excitement was rushing within Kihyun, slow consuming the anxious and nervous feeling he had been having.

His attention shifted towards the boxes piled in front of him, stacked three or four high in some places. All of them held books, newly published and ready for distribution. A smile tugged at Kihyun's lips as he opened one of the boxes. He pulled one of the books, holding it delicately in one hand while the other slid over the cover of the book. It didn't seem real to him at that moment despite the book being right there in his hands. As his fingers brushed down to the bottom of the book, he gently trailed them across the author's name:

Yoo Kihyun

A gentle chuckle escaped from within Kihyun, utter disbelief still swirled within him. He never thought in a million years that he would be holding a physical copy of HIS book. A book he had been working on for nearly a year now, never imagining the possibility of getting it published. He never imagined it would blow up so big prior to publication either. It was truly a dream come true.

"Mr. Yoo, they're ready for you."

Kihyun lifted his head, looking towards the librarian who had been assisting him. She was a sweet older woman with greying hair and kind eyes that held an infinite amount of knowledge within them. Kihyun nodded, flashing her a gentle smile. He turned back to the box, carefully placing the book in its spot once more and made his way over to where the librarian had been standing.

"Thank you, for all your help today."

He took a moment to straighten his clothes, smoothing the fabric down so he looked a bit more presentable when he walked out into the open. He mentally prepared himself for the amount of people he was about to meet today, but as he rounded the screen, he was not expecting how many people would actually be there.

Greeted by a line of people already snaked out the front door, Kihyun waved towards them flashing his kind and gentle smile. He gave a couple of courteous bows as he walked over to a table that was set up just for him. A few books were set up on display for people to see and purchase if they hadn't already brought their own copy, there were pens sitting there so he could sign his name in the books presented to him. He gave a quick welcome to the people, the fans of his book, the people there to meet him.

As he sat down, Kihyun reflected on the road he took to get there. The hard work and sleepless nights he had put in to finish just the one book. The past year had been difficult, but looking at himself now, a published author at his first book signing. The hard work had paid off, and that alone made him smile.

Once seated, he once again welcomed everyone, motioning for the first person to come forward. A young woman with big brown eyes, her hair nearly mimicking that very shade. She had two pigtails in her hair, tied with black bows on either side of her head. The rest hung freely around her shoulders, framing her face perfectly.

"Mr. Yoo, I'm probably your biggest fan."

Kihyun smiled, taking the book as it was presented to him. This was what he had dreamed of, making people happy with his writing, and now he has done that. His dream of becoming a published author had finally come true and he couldn't have been happier.
