A Little Fishy (Stray Kids)
Silence, no sounds could be heard from where he currently lay. The damp hard stone hurt his back, but there was nothing he could as he lay there gasping for air. Water dripped from his body, running down the slight slant of the cold stone ground and into the small pool of clear water at the bottom. Even as Minho shifted, there was very minimal sound that echoed within the cavernous room he had gotten himself stuck in.
A groan slipped from his lips as he pushed himself up into a seated position. Crossing his legs, Minho rested his hands in his lap while turning his pained gaze skyward towards the cave's ceiling. A large gaping hole stared back down at him, the sky visible through the crumbled hole he had fallen through. Somehow, he had gotten lucky enough to fall into the pool of water, saving himself from broken bones. . .or worse. Hence his currently soaked appearance and breathless demeanor.
At the moment, he couldn't recall how he had gotten down into the cave. Well, aside from the ground collapsing and him falling straight down. The before, that was the confusing part. He remembered camping with his friends, he remembered walking off into the woods for something, but everything else was all just a blur to him.
A soft sigh slid passed his lips as he lowered his gaze to the room he was sitting in. Condensation sat upon the walls and ground of the smooth stone making climbing out that much more dangerous. It was dark aside from the glow of the moon and stars that brightened the inside of the cave. If he couldn't climb, he was going to have to find another way out. The very thought had him groaning in frustration.
Minho's groaning was cut off when the sound of splashing had caught his attention. Turning his head, he looked in the direction the sound was coming from. His eyes landed on the source of water in the area, the small pool of water. Leaning forward, Minho stared into it, waiting for the splashing he heard earlier. It came almost seconds later, his eyes widening.
Crawling on his hands and knees, Minho moved over to the edge of the water. He peered inside the clear clean water that was rippling from something. Some sort of creature had disturbed the surface and he wondered what it could have been.
Gasping, he backed up and sat on his knees as a head popped out of the water. Staring up at him was a beautiful little silver fish. It's big eyes were locked on him as if he were the first thing it had ever seen in its little life.
"Are you stuck down here as well?"
Minho's voice was soft and questioning as he spoke to the little fish. It didn't move, just stared up at Minho as if waiting for him to say something more.
"Well, I'm not going anywhere anytime soon. We can keep each other company."
A smile formed on his lips, staring down at his small new fishy friend. It quickly disappeared though as the fish dipped back under the water. With the fish out of sight, Minho leaned back over and tried to find it within the water below.
"Wait, don't go!"
Calling out to the fish, however, realizing what he was doing he sat down and sighed heavily.
"Look at me, I'm talking to a fish. It hasn't even been that long and I'm begging a fish to keep me company."
Minho sat with his knees pulled up to his chest as his gaze drifted back up towards the starry sky above him. A soft breath slowly slid through his lips as he attempted to keep the warmth within his body from leaving him. He was so lost in thought that he hadn't even noticed the fish slowly rise back out of the water.
With its head out of the water, it spit a quick stream of water right at Minho's ear. He jumped, quickly turning his head while trying to get the water out of his ear. Minho shot a quick glare at the little fish, a warning following soon after.
"Watch it, I will cook you."
Realizing he was once more talking to the fish, he whined softly. Hanging his head, feeling rather ridiculous for talking to a playful little silver fish all because he was stuck till morning. Raising his head towards the sky once more, he screamed out to the stars.
"Someone get me out of here!"
