To be honest i'm surprised if you guys are still reading this. I am so sorry that i left you guys off on a cliffhanger and haven't been keeping up with my books. Anyways i'm back, and sorry for the long wait, if you guys didn't already, then you should go back and read the chapters again because i changed some stuff. Hope you guys are staying safe and staying inside. Hopefully this chapter helps if you're bored during quarantine! (The picture above is what i'm imagining Annabeth's work is, it's not mine it's by a painter named Angela Wakefield, she's a really talented artist) Btw, i'm trying to make these chapters a little bit longer so yeaa..hope u enjoy 🙂

"So remember high school?" I asked

Jason shuddered, obviously not liking the idea of learning, god forbid high school "Yeah, what does this have to do with anything?" He raised an eyebrow.

"I'm getting there" I rolled my eyes playfully at his impatience. "There was this girl, Annabeth"

"Do you remember her?" I asked, since we went to the same school since we were little kids

Jason frowned and shook his head "Not really, just the name kinda sounds familiar"

"Uhm blonde hair, grey eyes and-"

"You still remember what she looks like?" Jason asked.

I nodded

"She and I were- uhm, you know" I pursed my lips together not knowing how to explain things.

Because honestly, i didn't. How do you tell your best friend that me and this girl from our high school (that he doesn't even remember) were together?

"We were well you know together- well not together, we weren't even exclusive or official or whatever you call it-" He cut me short

"Your rambling" he adjusted his glasses on his nose and his lips morphed into a playful smirked. "You never told me that you were dating someone"

I shrugged "Well we wanted to keep things on the low," I sighed "We didn't wanna tell anyone yet"

Well that was a big lie, I remember that she was ready to tell everyone she passed in the hallways, but i didn't really know how people would react. I mean we weren't even friends but somehow we got paired on a science project and things clicked.

She was popular, I wasn't, I only had Jason, Leo, Frank, and their girlfriends. She was gorgeous, I was decent looking. She practically had guys lining up to date her, A girl probably wouldn't glance my way. She was a cheerleader, I was one of the less known guys on the swim team. She was a genius, I was pretty slow at school.

Curse my introverted self.

"Lost in thought?" Jason said after swallowing his last bite of the last pizza slice. I swear that dude could eat a whole cow and still be hungry, don't know how he still isn't fat.

"Uh no" I looked at him just now realizing i was looking down at my lap. "Just thinking"

Jason gave me and odd look "So you were?"

"Whatever" I scoffed

He grabbed a napkin, wiped his hands with it and cleared his throat. "Look, you're obviously into her, and you guys might have a history." He put the word history in hand quotations. "But it won't hurt to make a move," I opened my mouth, about to cut him telling him that would be a bad idea, until he still kept talking. "or if you're not up for that, at least reach out to her, I mean i'm guessing that number on the piece of papers hers right?"

I nodded

He did the same but then gave me a confused look "Wait, how'd you even get her number?"

"Well..uh" I scratched the back of my neck "She's kind of a very well known person..."

"What's her last name?"

"Chase"

"So you heard her on a podcast or something?" Jason said picking up his phone. He suddenly started typing but i knew he was still listening.

"Yeah" I started smiling to myself. "She's an artist who paints landscapes and buildings"

She always loved architectural work.

"But usually she paints buildings, I've seen some of her work," I said leaning back on the couch "they're amazing"

"Here!" Jason said shoving the phone in my face.

I took it and there she was Annabeth Chase

Her overview read:

Annabeth Chase is an American Painter. She is  known for her unique style in landscapes and more, but she received wider recognition for her canvases on buildings. Her high class individual manner in art was influenced by Architectural designs.

After I was done reading it, I looked back at Jason. He took the phone out of my face and read it for himself.

"Wow" was all that left his mouth.

I didn't say anything, I just nodded. I looked down at what he was doing on his phone. He clicked on images and handed the phone to me. There was photos of her face on the screen everywhere. I felt like i just got punched in the face. There she was. Her long blonde hair was still curly. Her eyes were gray, but I noticed in every picture, they had a sparkle in them.

She's still gorgeous.

I scrolled down and her art works showed up. My eyes widened and I looked up from the phone to look back up at Jason to see that he had the same reaction to me.

Her paintings were perfect. I clicked on one that caught my eye. It was a view of New York. The cars, mostly taxis, and buildings were so detailed that I would've mistook it for a picture if the texture of the paint didn't give it away.

"That's talent right there" I heard him mutter

"Yeah, no kidding" I agreed. I gave him the phone back.

"So you gonna make a move?" He asked while putting it face down in the table

I shook my head and scratched the back of my neck "I'm gonna reach out to her, but I guess I'll just take things slow first"

Jason nodded "Ok i'm gonna get the paper now"

He started to get up and walk to his room to get the piece of paper. But my mind started to race with the worst thoughts.

What if she doesn't remember me?
What if I don't set her standards?

I'm a 22 year old with an office job and she's an artist probably making 6 figures on each piece of work she creates.

"Percy," Jason came back in the living room "you alright?"

I snapped out of my trance, coming back to reality "Yeah, why?"

"Well, you look like you were having a facial seizure"
He let out a dry chuckle "You nervous?"

"I guess" I shrugged "it's just a lot to process"

"I get it, I can't pretend to know how you feel but, I say go for it, I mean, what do you have to lose? I mean if she does reject you, at least you two never have to see each other in person, much less talk again"

The idea of that made my palms sweat and my nerves go up. "Not the best pep talk dude"

"Or" he quickly added "If u both decide to try to give it a shot, again, then there you go. Everything works out and I'm the best man at the wedding" I looked up at him, feeling my face turn red. He smirked, laughed and adjusted his glasses on his face.

Jason gave me the paper and patted me on the back.
"Thanks for dinner"

"No problem and thanks for the advice." I smiled and shoved the paper in my pocket, hoping to remember it was there this time. "It's getting late, I should go"

"Oh and Jason" I commented

He raised his eyebrows signaling to keep talking "Do you mind if you just keep this between us?" I asked "I'm still wrapping my head around this and the last thing i need is a bouncing Piper and Leo teasing me about this"

Both of ur laughed "Of course"

We stood up and bro hugged each other. I looked down at the mess of our napkins, cups, plates and food of ours on the coffee table. I raised my eyebrows at him "You need help cleaning this up?"

He shook his head and shoved his hands into the pockets of his sweatpants "I can manage"

I nodded, said a last goodbye and started making my way to the door. "Oh shoot, Percy wait!"

I looked back at Jason who called out my name. I furrowed my eyebrows at him. "I need to get something. It's something from the club" he said scurrying to his room "don't go yet"

I nodded slowly

What happened this time? Did he print the pictures of me acting stupid while i was intoxicated? Oh god, did he frame one and hang it somewhere?

He came back shortly and in his hands was the last thing that would've came to my mind.

"While we were there, this fell out of your pocket" He gave me it "I almost forgot"

I smiled halfheartedly at him and muttered "Thanks" so inaudibly, that I don't think he heard me.

I go out the door and sit back in my car. I rest my head on the steering wheel and look down at the item in my hand.

It was the napkin. And it still read:
