『It wasn't like I was going to die』

Hoseok gently placed the timid cat down, letting it free from his hoodie. The cat instantly sprinted under his comfy couch, confused. Hoseok lifted his hoodie up to find it filled with holes.

"Come on, this is my favorite hoodie!" Hoseok whined. "I guess I have to buy a new one now and that was my only one," he sighed while putting the hoodie down.

Hoseok walked towards the couch, where the cat was under, and slowly bent over. "You don't have to be scared, I won't hurt you." Hoseok assured while looking at the black cat.

He stood back up and strutted to the fridge, he searched for any possible meat or fish, you know what cats eat. Hoseok grabbed the leftover burger he had yesterday, it was half eaten but should do it.

Hoseok returned under the couch and slid a plate with the half ate burger on it, "Here you go, eat up." he waited patiently for the cat to eat but the cat simply ignored the burger.

"Not going to eat?" Hoseok looked at the time, it was getting late. "Let's try again tomorrow." He told himself.

Hoseok grabbed a shoebox and placed his ripped hoodie inside, a small stuffed duckling so it could be comforting. He placed the shoebox in the corner of the room, "Go sleep over there, it's comfortable." He pointed to the shoebox in the corner.

The black cat hesitantly crawled out of the couch, he slowly walked towards the shoebox but midway fell on its side.

Everything went pitch black.

Next day. .

The black cat opened his eyes to see Hoseok sleeping next to him, he took another look at his shoulder, there was now a bandage over where he got shot.

"Did he really stay up all night?" The cat scoffed while looking at the sleeping boy. "What an idiot."

The black cat was now a black-haired boy, walking towards the fridge to eat the half-eaten burger Hoseok tried to give him.

"It's not that bad." He shrugged, he glanced down, there was two white bowls side by side, each with the handwritten words.

Yoongles

He choked on his own food, spitting it out, disgusted by his given name by the orange haired boy. Quickly, the black haired boy changed back into a small cat. Hoseok had awoken from the coughing, he slowly stood up and stretched his arms.

"What time is it?" Hoseok yawned, he looked at the clock, it was past noon. "I'm going to be late!" He yelled, without taking a glimpse at the black cat, he raced out the door.

"Jung Hoseok?" The nurse called, holding her clipboard.

Hoseok stood up, "That's me." He stated while following the nurse to a white room.

"Doctor Kang should be with you in a few minutes, please wait here." The nurse said while closing the door behind her.

Hoseok nodded and took a seat, he looked around the room it was filled with scientific facts and such.

It smelled like a hospital, I'm sure most of you know the smell.

His heart began beating rapidly, he took a deep breath to calm himself down.

The door opened, Doctor Kang stepped inside taking his seat. "How are- what happened to your cheek?" Dr. Kang asked, staring at the scratch on Hoseok's face.

"Oh, I uh found a stray last night and..decided to take it in," Hoseok explained, nervously.

"I see, I'm assuming the cat did that. I'll stop wasting your time, you're here because I have bad news." The doctor began to explain. "I have never seen anything like it, I can't explain it. Hoseok, your lifespan has been deducted by a lot more than I anticipated,"

"You told me I have 8 months left!" Hoseok argued now standing up.

"Please calm down, Hoseok. I took a look at your x-ray and ran it through, you have 2-3 months to live at the least. I'm truly sorry but there isn't anything I can do-"

"Prescribe me the painkillers," Hoseok ordered.

"That's not going to expand your lifespan, you realize that," the doctor said.

Hoseok scoffed, "Of course I know that. I don't want to live in pain for the last months I have," he reasoned.

"I'll have them delivered to you through our trusted delivery service. It should take about 5 days to get to you," the doctor explained to the younger.

Hoseok fell silent, he slowly sat back down and pulled back his hair. Two months should be enough time, he thought to himself.

"You should probably spend more time with your family and friends while you're still here," the doctor suggested.

Hoseok glanced up at the doctor, "Yeah, sure. I should get going home, I have a cat to check on." The younger told as he walked out the door.

Hoseok was in his car driving home, these streets were known for wild hybrids. As he drove he spotted a mouse hybrid in human form, getting abused by their owner.

He stepped on the brakes instantly and pulled his window down.

"Hey! Leave that hybrid alone!" Hoseok demanded sticking his head out the window.

The man glared back at Hoseok, "It's mine. I can do whatever I want to it, mind your damn business." He scolded while pulling the mouse's thin ear.

The two started walking away, the man pulling the hybrid's ear as they did and the hybrid whimpering.

"Wait! I'm not done with-"

Beep! Beep! The car behind Hoseok started honking non-stop, annoyed that he stopped in the middle of the road.

Hoseok got back inside and continued driving, "It's so unfair." He muttered under his breath.

『Bury the tears, just focus on work for now』
