I think this li'l slimey snake boi wants trust. He was so genuine this episode it nearly broke me.

Deceit put himself between Thomas and Patton. He shared his name. His expressions, his actual concerning, non-deceitful tone.

Then of course after Patton leaves he tries to put up that joking, dark humour wall, 'pushing people down the stairs' and all that.

I see through that. Mr Janus Sanders wants to be given a second chance.
