A bright boy

Who just won't stop laughing

He has a smile for everyone

And is super smart

He is charming

Always has a way with girls

Never fails to answer a question correctly

And he cares

It just might be his weakness

He is encouraging

Even if he isn't feeling his best

And really really enjoys a good line of banter before entering a fight

He is good-natured

Yet knows when to be serious

He can take a joke with ease and has a comeback ready

A happy child

But that is what they all see on the outside, they fail to see the inside

They fail to see his pain

Sometimes he wishes they could

He has fallen

And has been hurt

He is bullied

But won't show his tears

He is always in the most dangerous situations

Being on the front line

Risking for those that he loves

He has seen murder

He has stared at it in the face

More than once

Every night on patrol he faces the unimaginable

He is shot

And regularly feels physical pain

He feels regret and sorrow

For his dead parents

That he never got to say goodbye to

He sees fear

He can't escape it

Yet he doesn't let it clip his wings

He still soars

Because he is strong
