Dinner with the new neighbors
I started cooking the seafood for tonight's dinner. I was doing just fine, then Theresa walked in, "You may want to cook more food. We're having guests."
I looked at her, "How many people?"
"Three. Now, if you embarrass me or Victoria, say goodbye to your so-called fun days." she told me with venom in her voice.
As much as she bugs me, I managed to smile, "I'll be invisible."
"That's what I like to hear. Carry on." she replied, walking away.
I continued cooking.
-TIME SKIP-
I set the table for everyone, then I heard the doorbell. I went toward the door and opened it. It was Lance and his parents from what I could tell. I said, "Good evening."
"Hello, Elisa. I had no idea you lived here." he answered.
"I had no idea you were coming. Please, come in." I replied, moving out of the way so they could walk in.
"Hello, Lance." Victoria said in her silkiest voice.
"Hello, Victoria. Ladies, these are my parents." Lance answered, ignoring Victoria's advances. I'm kind of seeing why Ian doesn't find him threatening.
"Hello, Mr. and Mrs. Williams." I said.
"Hello, Elisa." Mr. Williams said.
"Oh, uh, let me direct you to the table. Dinner's almost ready." I replied.
We all walked to the table. Mrs. Williams said, "You're a wonderful hostess."
"Oh, I'm not the hostess." I answered.
"That would be me." Theresa said at the door. Why is she wearing a red dress? Is she trying to go to jail for adultery or for being a cougar?
I put the food and drinks on the table, then the conversation began. Mr. Williams said, "We're originally from the South, so L.A. is new territory for us."
"I was a little worried about moving. You know, Lance has lived in Atlanta his whole life, but I'm impressed that he adjusted so quickly." Mrs. Williams stated.
"I had a little help." Lance said, looking at me and smiled.
"Oh, I couldn't have been that much help." I told him.
"You're the only one who helped me find out how to set my classes. I'm grateful." he explained.
Theresa ignored me, but Victoria was fuming. She straightened her face when Lance looked at her and said, "I'm sure we'll be great friends, Victoria."
"Oh, I'm sure as well." Victoria said. Honestly, her thirst is so evident, I'm sure his parents can tell.
"Is there any events happening in school?" Lance asked.
"Oh, the school is hosting an art show. My friend Ian is part of it." I told them.
"Nice." Lance replied, smiling.
-TIME SKIP-
The dinner was over and I was cleaning up. That's another problem. Theresa and Victoria never do any cleaning. Victoria walked in and slapped me, "Didn't I tell you that Lance is mine?"
"And didn't I tell you that Lance doesn't belong to anyone? If he wanted you, he would've told you." I answered.
"What makes you so sure?" she asked.
"Try hanging around guys. You'll learn a lot." I replied.
