...CHAPTER ONE...
The Su Su
Lady Rowena
THE royal retinue went down the large corridors of the palace in white and crimson robes. The procession was rather painfully slow. The speed at which they were going made the retinue feel tense. But not their leader, their mistress.
The Su Su.
She was purposefully walking that way, extremely slowly to infuriate the one who awaited her on the other side. She had been on her own, in her inner chambers, enjoying the fine music of her courtesans and the gripping taste of fine wine when her right hand man, Talon had come to inform her of the arrival of The Demogorgon in her palace. Truthfully speaking, she had been surprised to hear such news from Talon.
What on earth was the Demogorgon looking for with her? Why was he here? Probably to destroy because that was all that he was good at.
She had ratiocinated on wether to see him or wether to turn him away -because she was tipsy, at the very edge of the line that separated being sane and muddle headed from drunk- and had chosen the latter.
No My Lady.
Talon had not allowed her to hear the rest of it. He had ordered the courtesans out of her chambers and asked Court lady Feral to make her presentable.
But I am drunk.
No one had listened to her. Court lady Feral had immersed her in a quick lavender scented bath and scrubbed away the smell of alcohol from her while Talon made their visitors quite comfortable in her palace.
Yes it was her palace and everyone listened to her. But not those two, Talon and Feral.
She groused as Court lady Feral helped her into robes that spelt wealth and splendor, white and crimson, the distinguished colours of her clan.
But Court lady Feral-
Hush my child!
She did not want to. She did not want to see him, that man. His eyes, they reminded her of something that she would rather have buried, deep and very deep down inside the dark murky waters that she had made to swallow a past that would put her current status to shame.
Only she hadn't let it.
She had stood her ground, held her head up high and made sure that it did not. She walked about with the crimson in her eyes, daring anyone who wished for death to mention the times that had her heart aching like the beaten sands of the shores.
And no one had dared!
Court lady Feral had combed her deep ocean blue hair with her most treasured brush, the one that her late mother had left to her as of preparing her for the most important day of her life. She sneered at the woman.
I will never be his and you know court lady Feral.
The woman had said nothing and only smiled dolefully at her mistress with the sadness in her heart.
Fate cannot be changed. Your heart, it will always yearn for him.
And those words, those words...
They tore her apart!

Hi guys! I am learning to write shorter chapters for my longer novels because someone advised me to do so.
She told me that it will be more intensifying if the chapters were short and concise rather than long and winding.
What do you think?
