Jimin carefully sat down on his bed, holding his huge, seven month bump from underneathe. He sighed and clenched his eyes shut for a moment. He was utterly exhausted.
After a long day of work and taking time to work on his online courses, he spent some time washing his and Taehyung's laundry, as well as the sheets he purchased for his son. After they were all clean, he put the sheets on the tiny mattress inside the crib. Now he was too tired to do much else.
He sat there gazing at the beautiful white crib that in a little over two months will hold his precious baby boy. Aside from a package of diapers and an outfit Taehyung picked out for him, the crib and baby sheets are some of the only things he really has for the baby so far. He saved quite a bit just to be able to purchase the large piece of furniture. He's not sure how he's supposed to provide everything else.
Finances have been pretty rough lately. He's been cut off from his parents, so he no longer gets his monthly allowances or his part of rent paid for.
Clearly, the hospital visit didn't go too well.
"Mom!? Dad!?"
Jimin was stunned to see his parents of all people, let themselves into his hospital room. His face grew paler than is already was.
How in the world did they even know I was here!? Jimin thought to himself. His mind was in full panic.
This was not how he wanted to tell his Mother and Father that they were going to be grandparents, but there is no avoiding it now. For them to even be here, means they must have a bit of knowledge as to why Jimin is in the hospital in the first place.
"J-Jimin?" The young male's mother stuttered out, covering her mouth in shock after getting a good look at his round belly, not being concealed in the slightest by the thin hospital comforter. "What's h-happened to you?"
Jimin can't tell if she means how he fell and almost lost his baby, or the fact that he's pregnant in general. By the disgusted, borderline hateful look within his father's eyes, he's figuring that it's the latter.
The pregnant male couldn't help but start to sob. "I'm so sorry I didn't tell you. I was s-so afraid!"
His mother, who Jimin looked almost identical to, grabbed onto his hand and sobbed with her son.
"If you would have told us sooner, we would have helped you take care of this a long time ago." Jimin's father spoke in a cold tone. "We were planning to come up and visit you anyway when we saw that you had withdrawn yourself from classes, son, but then we got a call from your roomate, Taehyung. We were shocked and very disappointed that you hadn't told us."
Jimin's mother sat upright and wiped the tears off of her face. "On our drive up here, we were thinking...of what to do about this situation, Jimin sweetheart."
"So here's what we're going to do" Jimin's father spoke with an absolute tone. "Until the baby is born, you will come back home and live with us, but it will be a bit strict. For our families reputation, no one can know about this." He gestured toward Jimin's stomach.
Jimin furrowed his eyebrows and let go of his mother's hand, already trembling.
"We will call an adoption agency and find someone that will take the infant. Once you've given birth, you will go back to University. Since you haven't declared a major yet, you will go into business. That way, you can eventually take over the family business. It'll be like this little setback never even happened to us."
The room fell silent after Jimin's father's words. His mother glanced at the boy anxiously, hoping that he will simply agree and avoid arguing with the man.
"No." Jimin finally spoke.
"Jimin-ah... before you say that, understand what that means. I pay for your apartment. I have paid for your schooling up until now. I give you an allowance."
"I'm keeping my son." Jimin glared at his father now.
Jimin's mother paced back over to her husband in disappointment.
"Jimin, if you won't listen to what your mother and I want, you can kiss all that goodbye. You will be completely on your own. Think about your future. You won't have one if you keep that- that mistake. We have never once cared that you were born a carrier, but that never meant that you could just open your legs for anyone."
Jimin huffed, but he wouldn't back down. "I don't care. I have thought about all of this happening, but I can't imagine a future without my son in it."
"Okay" Jimin's dad wore a harsh glare and gritted his teeth. "Consider yourself no longer part of our family. We want nothing to do with this disgrace." He gestured toward Jimin's swollen stomach. "Our family name will not be brought down by a whore."
Jimin's mother let out another cry as she gripped on to her husband's arm, as he escourted her outside the room, while she tried to get one last look at her son. He slammed the door shut behind them.
That's the last Jimin has seen or heard from his parents, but he doesn't dwell on it. He doesn't want their money if they won't accept his child.
With his finances where they stand, he has been working as many shifts as possible at the Kim's bakery to get some extra money. Though, that's the opposite thing the doctor's told him to do. He's been told by the hospital, Dr. Lee, and Taehyung on many occassions to take it easy for the rest of his pregnancy, but unfortunately, he literally can't afford to listen.
Mrs. Kim has been very understanding of Jimin's circumstances and graciously feeds him breakfast and lunch almost every shift. She lets him take longer breaks every once in a while when she feels the pregnant male needs to be off of his feet for bit.
The day Jimin told her about the pregnancy, right before his belly really popped, he couldn't help but notice the saddened look in her eyes, but she quickly shook it off and beamed, wanting to touch his belly. Ever since then, she has been an amazing help. She's even gone with him to one of his appointments when Taehyung and Seokjin were busy with classes.
Jimin sat peacefully in his room alone, until his obnoxious roomate let himself enter. "Hey, Jimbles! Did you just wake up from a nap?" Taehyung asked.
"No, I've been up. I'm just a little tired. I worked about six hours today, then came home to work on schoolwork, and then I did some laundry. Look at the new sheets!" Jimin glowed with pride.
Taehyung, looked over toward the crib, spotting the gray sheets with tiny blue elephants all over them. He cooed at how adorable they were, but he quickly furrowed his eyebrows after the other's words set in.
"You what!?" Taehyung shouted. "Jimin, you are supposed to be taking it easy. You could have at least asked me to do the laundry for you. I wouldn't have minded. All of the doctors and nurses told you that you are so lucky the placenta didn't detatch very much or all the way. You very well could've lost our little man! You really need to be careful here on out."
The pregnant male knew everything his younger roomate said was true, but Jimin was just stubborn by nature at times. He hated asking others for help.
"I know you're right, Taehyung! I just..." he aggressively ran his fingers through his hair, showing just how stressed he really is, which his stress levels are another thing he's supposed to keep down. "I don't know what to do. He's going to be here in a couple months, and I barely have anything for him. My doctor's bills are stacking up and you have been paying most of our utility bills. How am I supposed to be a good mom to him, when I can't even provide for him!?"
"Okay, take a deep breath, and lay down." Taehyung guided the smaller to lay back in his bed and tucked the blankets up and around him. "We can't get too worked up. It'll all be okay."
Taehyung quietly left and shut the older's door when he knew the older was finally asleep.
He took a deep sigh as he planted himself on the living room couch. He's been stressed out too. He hates watching his best friend go through all of this and not know how to help.
His phone buzzed and flashed Hoseok's name across the screen.
Hoseok: We have to do something. I can't watch this anymore.
