For those who might not know him, his name is Fluke Natouch. He played the role of the main character Pharm in the BL series "Until We Meet Again".
Fluke's POV
"Sorry about that," the checkout girl in the supermarket said to me after I pointed out the erroneous price that she had keyed in for the eggless vegan spring roll wrappers that I bought.
"That's fine," I said, tapping my card onto the machine. I had learned to be vigilant about errors in checkout prices in supermarkets after I discovered that I was losing a lot of money because of getting overcharged for items that I had purchased from them.
I had to be extra careful these days about my daily expenses because it had been over a month now since I had been job hunting and had not come up with a job that was suited to my qualifications and experience.
I used to be the personal secretary of the Finance Department head of a well known men's apparel international company. I had not been fired nor did I quit. It was just because Mr. Siripongthon and his family had moved to the Netherlands after he had been offered a lucrative job whose compensation the current company could not match.
The new head of the Finance Department had brought in his own personal secretary and I had been laid off with a satisfactory severance pay that so far had kept me going but was getting smaller by the day, so I had to be more diligent in my job hunting.
After I checked out the rest of my purchased items and placed them into my recyclable grocery bag, I stepped out of the building and went straight for the newspaper stands that were not too far away from the supermarket.
I always waited for late afternoon before I went to buy the newspaper because the prices usually went down by almost half by late afternoon.
I thanked the newspaper boy and walked over to the bus stop where I sat on the empty side of the bench to wait for the bus. The other side of the bench was occupied by another guy who looked about my age. I nodded and smiled at him as I sat down beside him. He smiled back to show very deep and attractive dimples.
I then unfolded the newspaper that I had tucked under my arm. I went straight to the employment ad section.
My heart sank as I kept going through the ads and saw nothing that caught my interest. Just as I was about to give up, I saw an ad that widened my eyes due to the feeling of disbelief. Was I just dreaming it?
"Pinch me. Please pinch me," I said to the attractive bedimpled guy sitting beside me.
"What???"
I stretched out my arm to him.
"Please pinch me," I repeated my request.
"Okay, but this could hurt," he warned as he reached out and pinched my forearm.
"Ouch!" I complained.
"I did warn you," he said with a chuckle. "Why did you ask me to pinch you anyway?"
"Because I have been job hunting for weeks and weeks now without success but now suddenly I'm seeing this offer of employment which seems to have been dropped down from heaven," I replied.
Just at that moment the bus we were waiting for ambled by and then came to a stop with a loud screech.
"Good luck on your job search," the attractive guy with the dimples said to me as he allowed me to go up the bus first.
I tapped my bus card on the machine beside the driver and went down the aisle of the bus looking for an empty seat. I found an empty seat for two on the third to the last row.
The guy with the dimples was walking right behind me and when he saw the empty space beside me, he took it.
"Hello again," he said with a chuckle. "I hope you don't mind me sitting right next to you."
"Oh no, no, I don't mind at all," I assured him. "I'm not anti-social. In fact the work I'm looking for calls for social skills because it involves dealing with people on a daily and hourly or even less basis."
"I see. Hey, I'm Copter, what's your name?"
Finally, I got to know his name.

For those who do not know him...... SHAME ON YOU!
I accepted the hand that he offered and said, "I'm Fluke. Do you live within the city or do you need to transfer to another bus to take you to another city?"
"No," Copter replied, "I live only six bus stops away."
"Hey, me too!" I exclaimed in surprise at the coincidence. "We must be neighbors."
"Yes, we must be," he agreed.
After a brief lapse in our conversation, I decided to fish for a little more information from Copter.
"So today is a work day," I said tentatively. "Is this your day off?"
"I am on the last week of my two weeks vacation," he supplied the information. "I had been planning to go on a two week cruise to the Sulawesi Island of Indonesia but I could not get my two best friends to come with me because they were not free."
"That's a shame," I remarked and then realized that we had reached our destination.
I stood up and pulled the cord above me. Copter stood up as well and we made our way down the aisle as the bus slowed to a stop.
"It was nice meeting you, Copter," I said before turning away from him to walk towards my apartment building.
"Same here," he said but I noticed him walking close behind me.
I started digging into my pants pocket for the key to the front gate of my apartment building. He was standing right beside me, also digging into his pants pocket.
We stared hard at each other.
"No way," I finally said.
"Yes way, I believe," he replied as he waited for me to unlock the gate.
"What's your apartment number?" he asked.
I told him.
It was his turn to say, "No way."
"Why?" I asked, my heart pounding fast against my chest.
"I live just two doors away from you," he said. "Why we have never bumped into each other all this time is a mystery to me."
"It is a mystery indeed," I totally agreed with his statement.
I glanced at my watch. It was almost five o'clock in the afternoon. I might just catch the person who had advertised the employment offer if I did not wait to go up to my apartment but just called from the lobby.
"Listen, Copter," I said to my newfound friend as he stood waiting for me to join him by the elevator area. "I would like to place a call from here. I can't wait to go up to my unit. I need to catch the person who placed the ad in the newspaper before the office closes."
"Okay," said Copter, "Hope to see you around sometime."
"I hope so, too," I replied as I started to place the call from my cell phone.
I glanced at my watch. It was just a minute before five. Shit, I might have been too late.
I kept my fingers tightly crossed while I waited for the call to be answered.
"Eucalyptus International Pharmaceuticals, this is Mrs. Wongcherin speaking, how may I help you?" (A/N: This is a fictitious company name. Author does not know if it does exist.)
