Kimmon's POV

I suppressed my resentment at being pushed out of the bathroom by Copter.

Not wanting to be late for the second day of convention, I decided not to waste time waiting for him to finish his shower. I grabbed a towel and tied it around my waist before going to the next room where Ohm and Fluke were staying.

They did not answer on my first knock. After my second knock went unanswered as well, I turned the knob and pushed the door open before walking in.

Seeing my competitor in the business kissing my personal assistant made my hackles rise. It made me forget that he had done me a favor by switching hotel rooms with me just so I could get a good view of the sea. I was not going to let him get away with it without hearing something from me.

I paused dramatically by the doorway and raised my eyebrows at both Ohm and Fluke.

"Just what the hell is going on here???" I didn't mean for my voice to be that loud but it must have scared Fluke because he was looking at me with fear and anxiety written all over his face.

Ohm however was a different story.

"Don't you know how to knock?" he countered angrily.

That got me really really pissed because I did knock, but they were both so engrossed in their monkey business that they didn't hear me. So I told him exactly what my thoughts were.

"I did knock but you were too busy kissing my personal assistant to hear me!" I yelled at him.

Fluke, ever the peacemaker, stepped forward and looked with pleading eyes first at me and then at Ohm.

"Please," he said in a voice meant to sooth my and Ohm's frazzled nerves. "Don't you think it's too early in the morning to start a war?"

Then he addressed only me. "Did you need anything from me, Kimmon?"

"I'm trying not to be late for the convention," I replied. "Copter is still in the shower and won't let me shower with him so I thought that I'd ask to use your bathroom instead."

Fluke stepped aside so that I could get in farther into the room.

"Of course," he said to me.

Ohm didn't stay silent for long.

"I know Copter," he said, frowning at me. "Of course he won't let you shower with him. He's not the kind who would let a total stranger shower with him."

"I'm no longer a stranger to him," I shot back at Ohm before going into the bathroom and shutting the door closed.

As I let the strong warm spray cleanse my whole body, my mind tried to analyze what it was about Copter that seemed to pull at me like a strong magnetic force.

Maybe it was the aura of efficiency and capability that he exuded. And maybe it was the sense of integrity that I could see in him. I always prided myself in my ability to judge people correctly.I had to have that ability, given my position in the corporate ladder. I had to have that instinct and gut feeling. And my instinct was telling me that Copter should be working with me and not with Ohm. But then again, in fairness to Fluke, I had been working with him for only a few weeks. I still needed to observe his personality and his capabilities. Fluke did seem to have the same qualities as Copter. But there was something about Copter ... hmmmm ...

I quickly finished my shower, aware that time was running and I needed to be ready for the convention. It wouldn't do to be late to it and give the other members of the international pharmaceutical world the impression that I was not responsible enough to get to the convention on time.

I dried myself quickly and carelessly draped my tower around my waist before rushing out the bathroom door.

I froze in my tracks.

Just how many surprises were going to greet me this morning.

Because there was Copter, already all clothed in his elegant business suit, his hair combed backed in a very attractive fashion. But that pleasant picture was marred by Copter running his fingers oh so gently along the side of Fluke's cheek.

Once more I felt my hackles rising.

"My, my, my," I said, making sure that the sarcasm in my voice was heavy enough for everyone in the room to notice. "Fluke seems to be attracting all the men to him like bees to honey."

Copter turned to me and fixed me an ice cold stare.

"It's not what you're thinking," he said. "Get your mind out of the gutter, Kimmon."

I needed to give a suitable response to that.

"Oh, I don't blame you for thinking that Fluke is a saint," I said, no longer caring if what I was saying was irresponsible or not. "You did not walk in on your boss kissing him right here in this very room."

Fluke quickly turned to Copter.

"It's not what Kimmon is thinking," he said.

Fluke was about to say something more when Ohm interrupted him.

"Don't listen to what Kimmon is saying, Copter," Ohm said. "If you're ready to leave for the convention, let's go down to the lobby now."

With those words, Ohm headed for the door, followed closely by Copter.

Copter paused on the way out just long enough to say to Fluke, "I don't envy you your position."

"Hey! I heard that," I said to Copter with a dark frown.

Copter did not reply but I caught the smirk on his face just before he stepped out of the room.

I turned to Fluke.

"Come with me to my room," I said. "Since you seem to be good at straightening ties maybe you could straighten mine as well. But that's all you're gonna be straightening for me. Don't try to straighten my bent parts because they are exactly as they should be."

I could see the wheels turning in Fluke's mind but before he could make any response, I added, "And then maybe I could also give you a thank you kiss after that."

Fluke jerked his head up at me, his eyes looking like they were ready to fly out of their sockets and his lips opening and closing like fish as they frolic about inside an aquarium.

"I was playing with your mind," I said to him.
