Miguel's POV

It's the day after I declared that there would be no more sacrifices. Tulio is at the temple with Chel. Yena is home spending time with her siblings and mother. While I meet her father at the boat that was being built. He said it should be ready to set sail tomorrow.

"Well, it's, um, uh, nice" I say as we stand on a big wooden boat.

"Nice?" the chief asks.

"Yes, nice. But? Um, but, uh, is it really fit for the gods?" I ask him gesturing to the ship.

"My lord" he says as I chuckle.

"I have been around boats, believe me, and that, um, the pointy, tall, um, the long up and down thing" I say gesturing to it.

"The mast?" he asks.

"The mast, yes, yes. The mast is good. Well, look at it" I stammer. "There's not nearly enough, uh, um, rope" I lie.

"Rope?" he asks.

"Yes, rope. Exactly my point. Vertical ascension requires a lot more, uh, rope" I tell him.

"My lord" he chuckles.

"And look at this" I say grabbing the side of the boat. Rocking back and forth. "This doesn't look at all secure" I state. "Chief, I'm sorry. I'm sorry, but in all, it is a complete do-over" I lie as I look down avoiding his eyes. He comes and stands beside me.

"Hmm. You know. Lord Miguel, if you wish to stay, you only need to say so" he tells me with a smile.

"You mean, forever?" I ask him.

"Of course" he says.

"Oh, no, I can't. I have to go back with Tulio. We're... We're partners" I tell him.

"I know it'd make Yena happy" he tells me. I look at him. "A father knows when his daughter is in love, even before she does. I've never seen my daughter happier then when she is with you" he states. "But it is up to you both what you decide" he adds. "Big plans in the other world, huh?" he asks me curious.

"Yep, big plans" I say halfheartedly. Can I really take Yena away from her family? Would she come with me? Does she love me? Do I love her? Can I really leave Tulio?

"Well, then, I better go get some more rope, huh?" the chief says pulling me from my thoughts.

"Oh, Chief, um, forget about the rope" I tell him. "Um, my mistake" I say.

"Hey, to err is human" he says as he puts out his cigar. I look at him surprised. But say nothing and go back to the temple. I notice Chel and Tulio talking and decide to eavesdrop.

"Half?" Tulio asks. Chel nods her head. "I don't think so. I... I'll tell you what. Uh, I'll let you and Yena come back to Spain with us. Like you both wanted, and, um, yeah, I can see my way clear to throwing you each, mmm, ten percent?" he offers.

"You know, maybe we won't go to Spain with you guys and take half" she tells him.

"Ohh! Like you don't wanna go to Spain" he chuckles.

"Oh, like you don't want me to want to go to Spain" she teases.

"I want you to want what you want" he tells her sincerely.

"Mm-hmm. Go on" she tells him.

"All right. Cards on the table. Uh, I want you girls to come to Spain with me and Miguel. Mostly me. Especially me. Only me. Forget Miguel and Yena" he tells her. I grit my teeth.

"Well, as long as that's what you want. Me too" she tells him smiling.

"Okay, deal?" he asks and she puts a golden plate down.

"Deal" she says and kisses him. Altivo appears beside me.

"Forget Miguel and Yena" I mutter angrily. "Well, forget Tulio and Chel" I say and left.

Yena's POV

I'm with Chel who is very happy for some reason. We're watching kids do a play they made up about the guys. Miguel being the main character. Bibo is also in it. I notice Tulio is happy, but Miguel looks angry for some reason. I hope he's ok.

"Do you know what's wrong with Miguel?" I ask Chel.

"No, why?" she asks me.

"He just seems angry about something" I tell her.

"I'm sure it's nothing" she assures me. I decide to talk to Miguel after the play. Suddenly we hear something roar and a stone Jaguar appears from Tzekel-Kan's place. We all scream.

"Altivo!" I call and he runs over. I get on with Chel. He gallops over to the guys.

"Get on" Chel tells them and they do so. We gallop away from the jaguar. Altivo broke one of it's eyes before we are sent flying off of him. I land beside Chel groaning in pain. "Tulio!" Chel shouts in fear and I notice the stone jaguar standing over us.

"Miguel!" I shout as I back away from it. The guys start to throw rocks at it. Catching it's attention.

"Altivo, get Chel out of here" Tulio shouts.

"And Yena!" Miguel adds. Altivo neighs and gallops over to us. We get on and he gallops away as the guys lead the jaguar towards the whirlpool.

"Are you ok?" father ask me concerned as he appears with his warriors.

"Yes, but the guys are in trouble" I tell him.

"You all, follow me" he says and we do so. We arrive to see the Jaguar, Tzekel-Kan and the guys go over the edge as the ledge breaks off.

"No Miguel!" I shout as tears fill my eyes. But he and Tulio soon appear climbing vines. Miguel appears first as the crowd cheers. He is raised into the air and sent our way.

"Chief Tanni! Chief Tanni! I've decided to stay" he states as he reaches us. He smiles at me and I hug him tightly.

"Don't ever scare me like that again" I tell him.

"Never again" he assures me.

"Oh, this is wonderful news. What a glorious day for El Dorado. Lord Miguel has decided to live among us!" dad declares and everyone cheers. Miguel and I are lifted onto the crowds shoulders. We're carried away.

"I love you" I tell Miguel looking into his eyes.

"I love you Yena" he tells me. I smile and we lean in. Kissing each other and the crowd cheers more. I pull away blushing and he smiles lacing his fingers through mine. I can't wait to see what the future holds for us, together.
