Yena's POV

It's the day after Miguel decided to stay. The boat was loaded with half of the gold was loaded onto the boat for Tulio and Chel. Who was going with Tulio. "I guess this is goodbye" she says as we wait at the bottom of the stairs of the temple.

"Friends never say goodbye" I tell her. "We say see you later or until we meet again" I state.

"We might not ever meet again" she says sadly.

"I know, but I'd prefer anything over goodbye" I tell her.

"How about farewell?" she offers.

"Better" I say and hug her tightly. "I'll miss you" I tell her.

"I'll miss you too, take care of Miguel" she tells me.

"I will and take care of Tulio" I tell her as the guys appear. I let her go and walk over to Tulio. "You take care of her" I tell him.

"I will, please take care of Miguel" he tells me. I nod my head and hug him. Before letting him go and he goes over to my father. I see Chel hug Miguel before heading for the boat.

I head over to Miguel and grab his head. "Friends never say goodbye" I tell him.

"He made his choice and I made mine" he tells me. We go stand by my father as Altivo licks Tulio. I giggle as Chel lead Tulio away from the horse. I give Miguel a look and he sighs going over to Tulio. They wish each other luck before Tulio boards the boat with Chel.

Miguel walks back over to me and I lace our fingers together. "I love you" I tell him looking into his eyes.

"I love you" he says resting his head against mine. Suddenly Altivo appears beside us nickering loudly. "Whoa. Whoa, boy, what is it?" Miguel asks him concerned. Altivo nods his head to the horizon. We turn to see smoke. "Cortes" he mutters.

"Who?" I ask confused.

"My lord, what is it?" dad asks me.

"Chief Tanni! Chief Tanni!" a warrior shouts as he rushes over to us. He stumbles and nearly falls over. But dad catches him. "Approaching the city, is an army of strangers" he states.

"We are safe here. They'll never find the gate to the city" dad tells him.

"But, sire, they are being led by Tzekel-Kan" the warrior says. I gasp in shock.

"He survived!" dad exclaims shocked. "Warriors" Prepare yourself for battle!" he orders. The man let out battle cries.

"Chief, you cannot fight them!" Miguel tells him.

"Then how can we stop them?" dad and I ask him.

"We can't" he says and we all look at Tulio.

"Uh, one moment, please" he tells us. He disappears from view with Chel. We hear them muttering. He soon appears whining and sobbing. "Chief!" he calls. He clears his throat. " Chief. I've got a plan" he says holding up a cup. He explains the plan and we put it into motion.

I stand by Miguel as we watch the men work. "Hold the line steady! They're almost in place!" dad shouts at his warriors.

"Okay, chief, on my signal" Tulio tells him. Dad nods his head. "Ready! Hit the pillars!" he orders.

"Now!" dad shouts at the warriors. The man uses a log to push and break the whole rocks. I see Tulio trying to open the sail. The men try to pull the statue back, breaking the ropes. Dad gasps, grabbing the ropes.

"They're not gonna make it" Miguel mutters. "Altivo!" he shouts and Altivo gallops over. He hops on and I hop on behind him. "Yena..." he starts to say.

"No Miguel, I'm with you all the way" I tell him. He nods his head. Altivo gallops towards the boat and jumps. Miguel and I jump off him sailing through the air. We grab the sail and pull it down before landing in the boat.

"Get off the boat, Miguel, or you'll never see the city again" Tulio tells him.

"I know" Miguel says as he removes his head piece. "You don't think we were gonna let you have all the fun, do you?" he asks as he removes his earrings. I grab a few paddles handing two to Miguel. "Come on. We've got a wave to catch" he says tossing one to Tulio. Who catches it.

I look up at my father. 'I love you father, farewell' I mouth and he smiles sadly. I begin to paddle with the guys as Chel stirs.

"Get out of the way!" Tulio shouts at us. We all duck.

"Hold on!" Miguel shouts. We enter the cave on the wave. But the sail breaks. We ram into walls and I fall into Miguel's arms. He holds me close.

"We're gonna have to hit it broadside!" Tulio shouts.

"That's your plan?!" Miguel demands as we start to paddle again. "But the gold!" he shouts.

"I know!" Tulio shouts. "Just turn the boat!" he orders and we do so. We all grip the railing standing side be side. "On impact, everyone jump!" he shouts and we nod. We hit the pillar and jump landing in the water. We managed to avoid the cave in and surface coughing.

"You ok?" Miguel asks me concerned.

"Yeah, I'm ok" I assure him.

"We made it. It worked" Tulio chuckles.

"Wait. Get down!" Chel tells us pulling Tulio behind a boulder. We all follow her. We watch Tzekel-Kan appear leading he army of strangers.

"No" Tzekel-Kan says looking at the rocks. He runs over to them. A man on a huge horse approaches him looking mad.

"You lying heathen. There's nothing here at all" he sneers.

"No. Wait. Wait" Tzekel-Kan says. The man kicks him to the ground.

"Men, seize him" he orders. Two warriors grab Tzekel-Kan, restraining him. "There is no El Dorado here. Onward, me" he orders and leads the army away. Chel and I poke our heads out. Tzekel-Kan says us. We smirk waving at him.

"Wait! No, wait!" he shouts and his last word echoes. Chel and I relax beside the guys.

"Now that was an adventure" Miguel tells us. I nod my head in agreement.

"Yes. Yes, it was. And, um..." Tulio says as he starts to sob. "It was so much gold!" he cries. He sobers up and tells us his fine.

"Good" Chel says kissing his cheek. "Lets go" she states and we mount Altivo. Miguel offers Tulio his hand.

"Partner?" he asks.

"Partner" Tulio says with a smile as Miguel helps him up.

"Hey, guys, come on! You don't wanna stay here forever, do you?" Chel asks them.

"She's right, there's many adventures to be had" I tell them.

"But, we don't have a map" Miguel tells us.

"We don't have a plan" Tulio adds.

"Well, that's what makes it interesting" we tells them.

"You both are right" Tulio agrees.

"What are we waiting for?" Miguel asks. He mounts Altivo behind me and Tulio gets on behind him.

"Lets follow that trial!" Chel says pointing in a random direction. Opposite to the path the army took. Altivo rears and the guys fall off as he gallops. Us girls laugh. "Come on boys!" Chel shouts.

"Hey, Altivo!" Tulio shouts.

"Sit, boy! Sit! Yena!" Miguel shouts as they run after us.

"Chel, we're not on the horse!" Tulio shouts. We just laugh as we let Altivo run. The guys still following us.
