Prologue

Bright, cheerful and joyful are what come to mind when thinking of a yellow rose. Yellow roses create warm feelings and provide happiness. Giving yellow roses are a way of telling someone how much you value the friendship you share.

Tom wasn't thinking about anything specific when he walked through the door of the flat he shared with two of his best friends, (Y/N) and Harrison, but he knew trouble was right around the corner because he could hear his mother talking to (Y/N) and that usually meant that he was about to get roasted.

When Nikki rang the doorbell, (Y/N) was studying for her final exams and was extremely thankful for the distraction. Opening the door, she didn't even think about how sloppy she looked. At this point her messy bun was part of her personality and it was safe to say (Y/N) didn't care one bit about it.

"Hello, Darling!" Nikki greeted her with the brightest smile followed by the warmest hug. She was like her second mother.

"Hi Nikki! Come in." (Y/N) stepped out of the way to let the red haired women into their flat.

"I knew it was a good idea to have you move in. This place has never looked that ... tidy." She laughed, sitting on the couch.

"Funnily enough, I'm not the one cleaning, this is all Harrison and Tom's work, well more Harrison's to be completely honest. I'm way too busy with Exams at the moment." (Y/N) laughed before sitting down next to Nikki.

"You turn these boys into real men. I love it!" She grinned before looking around, probably searching for Tom.

"Tom is walking Tessa, but he should be home in a few." (Y/N) answered her unasked question.

"Great, that gives me time to get you in on something I have planned." Seeing the look on her face, (Y/N) palms turned sweaty. She knew Nikki and she knew that face - that face meant she was up to something Tom was not going to like.

"Nikki... Tom is not going to like whatever you have planned." (Y/N) laughed, fully knowing Nikki was about to drop some crazy idea into the room.

"You haven't even heard my idea!"

"I know but we also know Tom is not going to like it."

"He's not going to like it coming from me, but he might like it coming from you." The woman smirked at the (Y/H/C) haired girl in front of her.

"No! Nu-uh. No. I'm not getting on Tom's bad side." (Y/N) laughed.

"Please, as if you could get on his bad side. The boy adores you more than anything in his life. I just wish you two-"

"-Nikki." (Y/N) warned her. This was a familiar conversation, it was either her own mother or Tom's mother or Tom's whole family or her whole family telling them that the two should start dating - or skip the whole dating phase and just have kids and get married.

"Okay, okay! Best friends. I get it. I get it!" The woman smiled telling (Y/N) with her eyes that she still did not get it. "Now let me tell you about this idea."

"Do I really have to know about this?" (Y/N) groaned before throwing herself against the back of the couch - may as well be comfortable whilst listening to one of Nikki's ideas.

"Yes. Because you're going to be a part of it." Nikki smiled but immediately held up her hand to stop (Y/N) from interrupting her. "Let me finish my pitch! So, you know I'm a big fan of The Bachelor, right?" (Y/N) nodded, already having a vague idea about where this is going.

"Oh no."

"Oh yes! See, we both know Tom has... his ways with women - which annoys me everyday a bit more but we're not going to talk about that. So yes. The Bachelor! I have this idea of starting something like that for Tom. I'm currently in the middle of organizing everything and going over possible contestants, but I am ready to tell Tom about it." Nikki was way too excited for something so stupid, (Y/N) thought.

"Nikki..."

"No (Y/N), see, 12 contestants, 3 weeks and at the end of those 3 weeks, Tom may have found his match. He wastes his time doing absolutely nothing for his education by only sleeping around and hooking up with random girls. It's time for him to think about his future and his future as the CEO of his fathers company." (Y/N) saw where she was coming from, heck, she even agreed that Tom had to stop his stupid games and start growing up, but Harrison and her had given up all hope in that happening.

"Let's say, Tom would, emphasis on would, agree to that competition. How is that going to work? Like, I obviously know what The Bachelor is, but please tell me you didn't sign him up for some stupid TV show." (Y/N) groaned again, making the woman in front of her laugh.

"Of course not! I'm not an idiot. We have the financial stability to organize something like that on our own and we'll stay here in London with Tom living here in the flat and the 12 contestants living in our house. There's plenty of space since Tom moved out and I'm sure they won't mind sharing the 4 available rooms. The rest is basically like The Bachelor, Tom gets to pick someone to go on dates with and after a few days we'll have the first girls leaving by having him hand out the roses and all that. Ending with one girl who might just be the perfect girl for him." Nikki was in love with her idea and since (Y/N) loved herself some trash TV she was excited to see how this was going to play out. The girl knew Tom would not participate in such thing and she knew Nikki needed her to convince him to do so.

"Wait a second - you said I was going to be a part of it. Nikki, please tell me I'm going to be a part of telling Tom about it? Or convincing him to participate." (Y/N) prayed to everything she believed in that it was one of those two options.

"About that -"

"-Nikki! Oh come on. We've had this talk 5 minutes ago." (Y/N) buried herself further in the couch.

"No, no, no. Nothing like that, it's just... I'd love to have you amongst the contestants to spy for us. We both know that The Bachelor girls are not what they seem and I want you to tell us how they are when we are not around."

"No."

"(Y/N) please! I'm begging you. I know how much Tom means to you and it would annoy both of us if he ends up with someone that's fake and breaks his heart." Nikki was hitting (Y/N)'s soft spots. She knew Tom meant the world to her and seeing him get hurt would hurt her aswell. "And I can't really throw Harrison or one of his brothers in there."

"Damn you for knowing my weaknesses. FINE! I'm in, but you have to convince Tom by yourself." (Y/N) groaned again right when Tom walked into the living room.  Speaking of the devil. The browned haired boy looked at the two most important women in his life and immediately knew they were up to something. Tessa ran over to (Y/N) and placed her head in her lap.

"What have I done wrong now?" Tom said with a slight annoyance in his voice.

"Such a charming way to greet your mum." Nikki rolled her eyes before standing up and pulling her son into a hug.

"Hey mum." Tom smiled and hugged her back.

"Hey Cupcake." He grinned at (Y/N) which made her roll her eyes. When they were 14 they snuck into the kitchen in (Y/N)'s parent's house and stole half of the cupcakes that were meant for (Y/N)'s birthday party the next day. What the two of them didn't realize was that a dozen raspberry frosted cupcakes would not go down well, or in (Y/N)'s case go up again. Tom still remembers the moment when he was lying on the floor crying with laughter while (Y/N) was sitting in front of the toilet throwing up for hours. It was his favourite moment of their childhood.

"How. Many. Times. Thomas. Don't call me Cupcake!"

"Aw, you love it." He winked at the girl before sitting in the arm chair next to his mother. "So, now the other thing, shoot, mum."

"Why can't I just visit my son without an intention?"

"Do you not have an intention?" Tom smirked, knowing the answer already.

"Well, I do." Nikki smiled and (Y/N) had to try hard to not start laughing. "I'll tell you about this great idea we both had and you're not allowed to interrupt me, okay?" Tom looked at his best friend who was signaling him that she had nothing to do with this idea.

"Okay, tell me about the idea the two of you had." Tom grinned, laughing at (Y/N)s annoyed face, before turning his attention back to his mother who was starting to tell him about the competition.

"- and maybe we'll find the right match for you that way. It's not like you'll find it continuing to live like that." Nikki finished her pitch and the girl could tell that her best friend was debating on whether to laugh or to get angry.

"That's just... fucking ridiculous." Tom laughed "it's a no from me."

"(Y/N) is also one of the contestants!" Nikki almost shouted which made Tom look over to the girl he called his best friend who looked even more annoyed than he was.

"Not. A. Contestant. Thank you for clearing that up, Nikki. Jeez."

"Okay fine, (Y/N)'s going to be amongst the candidates to watch out for two faced snakes and help us decide who is the right one for you." Nikki smiled at (Y/N) who nodded thankfully for clearing that up.

"What did she pay you?" Tom laughed, he still couldn't believe how serious his mother was about this thing.

"Nothing, damn that would've been a good idea. Can I get paid for this?" (Y/N) grinned at Nikki who shook her head with a smile on her face.

"Maybe we'll talk about that job you want at the company after you graduate." Nikki laughed.

"Oh please, mum. We both know she was going to get it either way." Tom knew his father would give (Y/N) the job she wanted in his company. She was as much part of the Holland family as he was himself.

"Shut it." Nikki laughed "Come on Tom, what do you have to lose?"
