Chapter 4
Bright, cheerful and joyful are what come to mind when thinking of a yellow rose. Yellow roses create warm feelings and provide happiness. Giving yellow roses are a way of telling someone how much you value the friendship you share.
(Y/N) was still in a deep slumber when she heard someone say her name and felt Tessa move next to her. The girl tried hard to ignore the voice that was saying her name over and over again because she was enjoying her own bed way too much.
"(Y/N), time to get up if you don't want to blow your cover." She realized that it was Tom waking her up to go back to his parents' house.
"Can't you just let me sleep for 5 more minutes or 5 hours. This is too comfy and stop stealing my dog." She whined when she realized Tessa was now with Tom who was rubbing the dogs head.
"Love, it's past 6am, you should definitely go back. And she's still my dog." He laughed and sat down next to her to start poking the girls cheek.
"Go. Away. Tommy. I give up. I need my bed. I don't want to go back." She whined and grabbed Tom's hand to stop him from touching her face which caused Tom to laugh even more.
"Move your ass now or I'll carry you over there myself and place you in front of the front door."
"Sure. Deal." The girl yawned and tried to go back to sleep but failed miserably because she was actually being picked up by her best friend.
"Let me down! Tom!"
"You're going back there! I'm not ready for you to leave (Y/N). And you're going to go on this fucking date with me today and we're going to jump together and there's nothing you can do about it, Love." Tom said and couldn't help himself but to laugh when he heard her sigh. He let her down so she was now standing in front of him. Tom was pretty sure (Y/N) was still pissed but he knew the look in her eyes, it was the same one he saw when she agreed to participate in the first place.
"Fine! But you have to give me one of your damn shirts to wear today." It wasn't that (Y/N) didn't have any clothes, she just liked Tom or Harrison's clothes more than her own.
"You can't go back with one of my shirts, Cupcake. There is no chance that not at least one of the girls is going to realize you're wearing a boys shirt." He loved it when she was wearing his clothes but he refused to admit that and that it bothered him that she was walking around in Harrison's clothes as well. There hasn't been a time he bought clothes and not looked at them asking himself if his best friend would like the hoodie or the shirt because she'd probably end up wearing it more often than Tom himself.
"I'll just tell them I shop in the boys section and to shut the fuck up."
"(Y/N)" Tom whined.
"Fine! Fine!! I'll go, but you're buying me 3 months worth of Ben & Jerry's when this whole thing is over." (Y/N) grinned at her best friend who rolled his eyes.
"I promise I'll buy you 6 months worth of Ben & Jerry's when this thing is finally over and I can go back to normal."
"You, huh? Listen here pretty boy, I'm literally playing a role for three weeks, so suck it up Tom. You just have to go on dates, it's not going to kill you. I promise, normal people go on dates all the time and survive." The girl laughed while Tom put a leash on Tessa. He decided to walk the girl back to the house because it was still dark outside.
"Come on, pretty girl. Time for you to go back." The boy grinned at (Y/N) who was back to being annoyed "Oh come on, I let you sleep here, the least you can do is be nice to me." He pouted when his friend walked past him shaking her head. Following her, he threw his arm around the girl's shoulder. She immediately responded by leaning into his side.
"Thank you for doing this." Tom said as the three of them walked through their neighborhood.
"Did I have a choice?"
"Yes?" Tom grinned.
"Yeah, you sound pretty confident about that one, don't you?"
"I wasn't the one who made you participate, that is my mother's fault."
"You're lucky I love your mum."
"And I'm lucky you love me, right?" Tom grinned when they stopped in front of his parents house.
"Eh." (Y/N) laughed before saying her goodbyes to Tessa and her best friend. When she opened the door to the house Dom was in the kitchen drinking his coffee before going to the office again. When he saw the girl entering he couldn't help himself but laugh.
"What?!" (Y/N) laughed before grabbing herself a cup of tea and sitting down.
"You two are unbelievable." The man laughed and shook his head while placing down his coffee and looking at (Y/N) who grabbed herself a cup of tea.
"Pardon?"
"(Y/N)... I've known you your whole life. I know you were with my son, this is your Tom smile and I'm pretty sure you slept at the flat and Tom had to wake you up so you wouldn't blow your cover." He simply stated, knowing the truth already. The man knew the two of them have been inseperable since forever and when they decided to move in together it was more than obvious that they couldn't stay away from each other for more than a few days and everyone who knew (Y/N), knew that she hated it when she wasn't able to sleep in her own bed.
"I was going for a run! ... and I don't even know what a Tom smile is." (Y/N) laughed and sipped on her tea.
"It's only 7am and you haven't gone on a run since you were like what? 16? You're a terrible liar." Dom raised his eyebrow at the girl in front of him.
"Yeah, now that's just rude! I thought you were on my side here." The girl pouted when Paddy entered the kitchen.
"Morning (Y/N). How's your night with Tom?" He grinned and Dom started laughing again.
"First of all, lower your voice. Seconds of all, I wasn't with Tom.... and how on earth do you know I wasn't here tonight?" (Y/N) shushed the 13-year-old who just grinned at her "What, Patrick, what?"
"I just guessed. And I guess I was right. So HA! In your face, (Y/N)." He giggled and Tom's dad almost spit out his coffee.
"Argh, both of you. Annoying! Annooooying!" The girl groaned but couldn't help herself but grin at how good they actually knew her.

After the conversation in the kitchen Paddy left for school and Dominic left for the office leaving (Y/N) alone in the living room where she fell back asleep until Nikki woke her up to remind her to get ready for the date. Putting on some leggings and a casual tanktop, she tied her hair up in a bun and was ready for the date. Knowing what was going to happen she didn't even bother to do her hair and makeup properly. At around 11am the three girls were sitting in the family's living room waiting for Tom to pick them up. The other two girls started speculating on where he was going to take them. Laura's guess was golfing while Sophia's guess was Tennis - so far away, girls. So far away.
Tom arrived fashionably late and excused himself by saying that it took him a few more minutes to look this handsome today. He greeted them with a simple hug and a kiss on the cheek before telling them there was already a car outside waiting for them to take them to the secret location of the date.
Arriving at the O2 after about an hour of driving, the four of them got out and could already see the platform they were going to jump down from.
"So, as you can probably already see, we're going to be having some real fun today. I hope you're not scared of heights." Tom started talking "Don't worry, I'll be there to protect you because we're both going to jump together." He winked at Laura. (Y/N) was sure her boobs were going to fall out during that jump since she was showing so much cleavage that they were already half out. But to be fair, the girls weren't to blame this time, after all it was Tom who told them to show skin.
"Alright, so who wants to go first?" Tom askes and looked at the girls in front of him, his eyes locked with (Y/N)s.
"I'd love to watch from the ground at first." Sophia said and Laura agreed with her.
"Yeah, sure. I'll do it." (Y/N) stepped forward and linked her arm with Tom's. It wasn't much of a surprise that she was the one going first. He knew the girl loved herself some extreme sports although she wasn't much of a sports fan. The two of them put on all of the safety gear and the staff made sure there was nothing wrong with their belts and stuff before the crane started to move upwards.
"Aww Tommy, are you nervous?" (Y/N) laughed when she saw Tom's face when they were being pulled up.
"I have to do this 3 times. I feel like my mum didn't really think that through." The boy laughed while looking at the two girls at the bottom who were getting smaller and smaller.
"Pff, yeah I don't feel like any of the two is going to jump to be honest. They both looked like they were about to faint when you told them about the jump." (Y/N) laughed. The girl felt herself get more nervous and by the time they had reached their jump height she started to be a mess which was new to Tom.
"Why are you so nervous? You get on the fastest rollercoasters, you've done house running AND you want to go skydiving, so why the fuck are you so scared right now?" Tom laughed "It's going to be fine!"
"Yeah, rollercoasters are safe! House running was me walking down a wall with someone securing me and skydiving is someone pulling the parachute for you. This is a stupid bungee cord that might snap if we're too heavy."
"Relax! You're going to be fine. I'll be here to protect you, Cupcake." The boy in front of her smirked and immediately earned a bad look from her.
"Yeah, because you're going to turn into Spider-Man and create your own bungee cord when something goes wrong. I don't think so, buddy. We're in this together." (Y/N) laughed before their jumping instructor started giving them all the important information and tips on how to jump.
"You're going to be fine and knowing you, you'll probably love it so much, you want to go again." Tom smiled before hugging her and getting into the position they were supposed to jump in.
"Maybe I can go with the girls and you'll just have to stand down there watching us." (Y/N) joked.
"Lets see how this goes, maybe you'll actually have to go with them." The boy's face showed a mix of excitement and fear, nonetheless he was excited to do the first jump with his best friend by his side.
"Oh god, I'm going to die." (Y/N) whispered which made Tom laugh right before they took the final step towards the end of the platform where they let themselves fall. The adrenaline rush was something that both of them loved and this one was something they hadn't felt before. Tom's grip on (Y/N) never loosened and she was grateful for not being in this alone and having him there next to her. The fun was over quicker than both of them wanted it to be but soon enough they were back on the ground absolutely hyped about what just happened.
"Oh my god! This looked sooo scary, I don't know if I'm up for that, even with you protecting me." Laura said which ended up starting this whole discussion between Sophie and Laura about who was going to go next. With Sophia being scared of heights and Laura just being close to wetting herself, Tom had told them that it was cool with him if they weren't going to jump and that he wouldn't blame them. The two of them agreed that bungee jumping wasn't necessarily on their bucket list. Before they went back to the house, Tom had asked (Y/N) if she was down for another jump, which she definitely was. Summed up, the group date was basically just (Y/N) and Tom jumping down the platform two times before going back to the house - and the two of them didn't mind one bit.
Nothing much happened for the rest of the day except for Jessica coming back from her date grinning from ear to ear and talking about how Tom couldn't keep his hands off her and how good of a kisser Tom is. It took (Y/N) all of her strength to not start laughing and gagging at the same time. It was weird hearing the girls talk about Tom like that. Of course she knew that Tom was going to kiss the first girl he went on a single date with but she hoped that she wouldn't have to listen to every single second of what happened on that date - her hopes were shattered as soon as Jessica walked through the front door.
