Epilogue
"It was good seeing you again", Petro said, shaking Lux's hand. "Come by when you wanna do some more damage with us."
Lux smiled. "I will. Keep up the good work you guys. With people like you, the war for peace will be over soon."
"You mean people like us", Katooni corrected. "We're a team, remember?"
Lux nodded. "Right. Um, you wouldn't happen to know where Ahsoka is, would you?"
"She's in her room", Katooni said. "She's getting ready to leave."
"Thank you", Lux said, then walked down the hall to Ahsoka's room.
As soon as he stopped at the door, Ahsoka opened it and nearly bumped into him. "Oh! Lux....I didn't see you there", she muttered.
"I....I just came to say good bye. And good luck out there."
He stuck his hand out to her. At first she didn't take it. "You too", she said as she took his hand and shook it.
For a moment they just stood there, staring at each other. Oh Ahsoka, Lux thought to himself, when will things be right between us?
"I have to go", Ahsoka said, gently pushing past Lux.
"Of course. Um.....see you around?"
"Maybe."
Lux sighed and turned to go. "Hey Lux".
Lux whipped around. "Yes?"
"Have you seen the ghost crew around today?"
Oh. No, I'm afraid they left early this morning. They said they couldn't bear to see Ezra's face when he found out that he wasn't going back with them."
Ahsoka sighed. "I understand. If you see them around, give them my regards."
"Will do", Lux said, then walked quietly out of the house and to his ship.
Ahsoka heard it take off. It's for the best, she told herself as she walked down the hall to Ezra's room. Lux and I.....we're just not on the same page right now.
It's for the best.
Ahsoka stopped at the door. "Well", she sighed, "let's get this over with."
Opening the door, she called out, "Ezra, it's time to get-"
She stopped short. The room was empty. "Ezra? Ezra, there's no need to hide. It's just me, Ahsoka."
No one answered.
Ahsoka noticed a holocron on the table. Hesitantly, she turned it on. The ghost crew appeared on the screen. "Hello Fulcrum", Hera greeted. "If you've found this, then we're long gone and in hyperspace."
"We want to let you know that we're grateful for to you for helping us out while we were in a fix", Sabine said through her helmet.
"Unfortunately, we had to leave as soon as we could", Ezra said. "I mean, it's not like Lux's ship was gonna wait for us."
Ahsoka blinked back in surprise. "Yep", Kanan said grinning. "We've decided to join Lux's troupe of rebels."
"We're still the ghost crew and Specters 1 through 6", Zeb said, crossing his arms in approval.
"But we're going to do our work elsewhere", Hera said. "For now at least."
"Besides", Ezra said playfully, "you can't break this family apart. We're hard to separate, you know."
"We always seem to find each other", Sabine joked.
"So until we meet again, stay safe", Hera said gently.
"And may the force be with you", Ezra said, his yellow eyes twinkling. "Always."
Then the holocron shut down.
For awhile Ahsoka just stood there, staring at where the image had just been. Then she sighed.
"I've really got to stop underestimating the ghost crew."
